26 kinda day

It was breezy out when H wanted out at 4:50 am, yep getting earlier ugh. The furnace had kicked in too which I shut off having the windows open all night made for chilly main area. I closed patio door and put H in garage. Back to bed only to have the dam robin hit the picture window at 6:01! Yes the window slams are less but still happening. I did fall back asleep till after 8. The usual routine of feed H and let out the kitties then get day under way. S slept till 9:30 getting in his last sleep in day. Time for his coffee and finding movies for the plane to download. I looked out to see yet another truck driving in to check the wellhead.

Amanda and Craig arrived mid morning with their new travel trailer. It is huge with 5 slides and Amanda had never seen it yet. They needed a space to push out slides and set up and will be back later to clean it. A short visit and they were on their way.

Kaylin, Devon and the dogs arrived just after they left. S cooked up hot dogs for lunch with a side of bean dip and glass of kombucha. They left at 1 having picked up Kaylin's escape so she can get back to work tomorrow! They also are prepping for their move to a house in the NW late June.

Water and milk kefir done S left at 2:30 making his way to the airport. I did a bit of computer catch up only to have the robin was back at my bedroom window mid day, sheesh. I went and dark waxed the table base and hauled it all in. It had to be screwed back together and staged.

It was so lovely at 26 with the wind easing up making it feel even hotter. Amanda and all 4 kids arrived around 4 as I was catching switch to tweak her front feet after texting with a farrier for tips. I worked on her while Amanda started her trailer clean and the kids played as did the dogs. Harley has had a busy play day with Clover then Theo then Clover again and Cooper yet to come. After letting Switch go I helped Amanda in the trailer a bit before they headed home for supper before 6.

I had some leftovers for supper finishing as Britt arrived with her McDonald's supper. She was then off to catch Roo and ride her while I pulled more weeds, watered the front planters and bed then walked over to get the peony in the pasture and planted. I hand watered the garden after planting more flower seeds. Onto painting the table bases, B fed the horses then headed home before 9. Once finished up I came in to write todays blog with an iced tea and Netflix before moving to my comfy bed after 10:30.

Beautiful Sunday for a dog walk at the river

I woke at 3:30, 4 and then 5 with still a headache. I let H out and saw the sunrise, took one of my last few Excedrin's, put H in the garage and back to bed sleeping till 9! A late Sunday breakfast for H and no caps or coffee for me today. It was already 15 and going to be a hot one. I let out the kitties, Stella actually found the cat door and was at the house but the other 2 were still inside waiting for the door to open ;)

First project was to repot my ponytail plant that was waterlogged and root rotting. It has 3 plants in one pot so I divided into 3 pots with new soil. S started his tree watering again that lasted most of the day.

It was a lovely sunny day out, I text B to see if she wanted to join us for a walk at the river before it gets hot, she said perhaps when she gets up. She arrived just after 12 picking up hot dog buns for S who got hot dogs on the barbeque for lunch. After we ate up we loaded up and headed to the river. This time we took a new trail over on the north side of the river which was sparsely populated. The campground side was packed on this beauty 23 day. The dogs loved it as most of the time they were off leash.

watch these funny videos

this one is super funny B took

We headed back to the ranch at 2 ish for a cold drink on the deck. B headed back to town for awhile leaving Coop. Harley got her well needed bath from S and I. Back on the deck I noticed the lilies in the garden box that would work in the whiskey planters so dug them up and replanted there and along the front bed. They had to then be watered in well. New wheelbarrow tires arrived from Amazon just in time for S to changed them out, yeah! I went and painted the table base then both end table bases.

B was now back and off to ride Roo, I headed back into the sunshine to pick weeds out of the back flower bed. S took the ranger out and loaded the poop piles B had made yesterday and ran them to the pit. Hockey had him in and out checking the score. For supper we cooked fish Papa caught on the barbeque and rice on the side burner, perfect not to heat up the house.

After supper I headed out again unable to stop digging weeds lol as B fed the horses. I put the kitties in the barn with offal and food then B and I went for a bareback ride; she led Bird. It was such a nice evening minus a few mozzies. The wind was gone allowing them to find us now and then. S stayed to watch Thor and move his watering. Everything is so green and pretty and the golden hour made it even prettier.

B and Coop headed home around 8. S and I ran to the neighbors to pick up the dresser that went with the mirror we got last time. It was a quick trip over, back and unloaded. I jumped in the tub to remove the days dirt and sooth achy muscles. Time to catch up todays blog with a fermented lemonade while S soaked in the tub. It was a lovely day indeed. In bed watching my iPad that darn bird banged once on the picture window, get lost!

Gorgeous day!!!

5:55 am miss H wanted a hall pass, it was a beautiful sunny wind free morning! Once in the garage I went back to bed to 8 and after a few games of cookie jam I went out to feed her, let the cats out in the sunshine and move horses to the far paddock. it was a gorgeous morning and looks like a hot one ahead. Inside I brewed up some decaf coffee and had a bowl of cereal. The prince woke at 9 so happy he had a 8 hour sleep! We weighed H and she has passed 105 pounds.

Headache today is a bummer so into the shower then a glass of kombucha. Shaina was up after 10:30 as I was trying to restage the corkboard and Sheldon was listening to a meditation. It was then off to the garage to work on the tables. First I put another coat on the fold down table top then painted the base an off white. I tried the same color on the trio but hated it.

I stopped for a quick tuna sandwich then back out but had Shaina give her opinion. She agreed it was too blue white. She was then off to the city for the weekend then will go to Banff for early next week. Sheldon had went out before lunch to finish the mowing then stopped for lunch and a rest with a crossword I found while laying out paper.

Britt was out before lunch with her dogs, she made food and while it soaked picked some poop in the closest paddock into piles before running to town for lunch. I was painting the other end table a favorite warm white when she arrived back. It looks so much better. I finished up and went out to treat Switch feet with white lightening: an bleach like treatment. I also tweaked the back feet while B did Bird's.

It was getting super hot in the sunshine even though only 20 but no wind and all sun makes it feel hotter. Sheldon had moved gravel around the shop edges and when done grabbed an ice cream sandwich for us all. He then putzed around with the push mower repair again with no luck. B then lunged Bird followed by Roo then headed for home at 4:30.

how Sheldon divides plants video

I hand watered my planters and front bed. The dwarf lilac was pulled after the second year of not coming back. S helped me cut some more Japanese iris (with his axe) to plant in its spot. I am only adding perennials I know will grow going forward.

Supper was delicious steak with pototo/carrot pack and a asparagus pack, sooo yummy! The hockey game was on between 2 Canadian teams (clearly what I heard when Oilers lost was a fable LOL) keeping S busy but he did dart out to move his water on trees he has been doing all day. The floor is so dirty I had to vacuum before catching up online. The evening so sooo beautiful we went for a walk with the dog and cats then check allot of the trees before coming in. S headed downstairs to OT hockey and I finished the blog.

I took H for a last bathroom opportunity and put the cast away with food around 9:30. S did open the cat door we had blocked in along time ago so they can get out if they want. One thing I noticed today was no robin lunacy and I did take the towels down last night in the wind but as I typed I heard what sounded like one hitting a window a few times as did S from his perch on the couch now the game ended and he was online. Once in bed watching my iPad there was nothing thank goodness.

Sanding and mowing

My internal alarm clock had me awake at 5:30 and the golden sunrise and no wind was lovely. I thought about going to take a photo of the crab tree in this light but seeing H was not up I stayed quiet. She did however wake at 6:30. The sun was now in the clouds and the wind starting to pick up. I put her in the garage but could not fall back asleep, rats. The wind continued to pick up, grrr.

wanted to get the crab tree in bloom but just a gloomy start to the day

Time for a cappuccino and fed the dog and worked on some computer catchup. I was just back in from letting the kitties out and doing a poop loop around 9:30 when Shaina was up making her cap and off to her office. This am I worked on the fold down table, it was scuff sanded all over, wiped clean, taken apart, the underside of the table sanded smooth and wiped again and the base painted a coat of primer.

Sheldon pulled in at 12:30 just after I finished a tuna sandwich. He unloaded treats from Mama K and had his own lunch. He then hit the couch for a nap while I went back to my projects in the garage. The second coat went on the table base. Up next was the pine coffee and end table set. I hauled them outside to start sanding down.

tried again mid day

S was up from his rest at 2 and attempted to start the push mower to do around the forest trees but it was a no go, needs a repair from a real fixit shop. He opted then for the weed eater  before hoping on the lawn mower. At 3:30 a rain squall sent us both inside; me hauling in the coffee table quick.  A glass of water kefir and a taste test of the tepache; both not fans. Back to the garage for me as I cleaned the bases of all the tables after hauling the coffee table back out to finish. The day was all over weather wise but did reach 18 for a high.

I then started the staining process. It took darker then I hoped but it is what it is. The little table not so much.

Shaina started supper; sausage I had out, boxed noodles and some roast broccoli. We ate late finishing around 7. Britt and her 2 dogs were out in the merc after 7 to feed horses while Sheldon and Shaina ran to town. Shaina to the gym and S to meet the repairman to get B's car. I put the kitties away with soft food as yet another brief rain blast hit. Once back with B's car she loaded up her dogs and off for home. S was off to watch hockey and I to catch up the blog on the computer with my iPad at my side watching Startup.

this is after 9 as I worked on the computer
and only about 15 minutes later I saw THIS!!!

I did move to bed but switched to the new season of Younger seeing Amazon gave me another free month of prime. Once in bed I gave S a sleeping pill to get a good nights sleep.
