Trail ride for 8 riders & 9 horses

Up early and coffee on, S took a water sample to town after 8 filling with fuel and grabbing buns on his way home. I quickly did some marketing and then packed snacks, drinks and hot dogs up in a cooler for our days adventure.

We had tack loaded, horses caught and loaded and ready to go by the planned 10 am stopping at the last minute to catch and load Roo. I drove Mom’s truck with 3, Sheldon our truck with 4 and Sharon and Shelby just ahead of us with 2 horses.

We tacked up and headed out at 12:22. The ride was very enjoyable with a few diversions from the trail due to boggy and Roo did so well

THANKS Sheldon for taking a group photo, Pepper was repping your team

We got back at 3:12, after untacking horses were hosed down, thanks to Shaina and Jacob for doing Switch. A barbque was enjoyed with us packing up in perfect time and leading out just after 5 as a few rain drops started.

Off to hose off the sweat

Swapping trucks for the drive home we stopped at Tim's to get a drink for the ride home. We did hit rain on the way but none at the ranch but it had as 2 soaked dogs happily met us. Once home before 6:30 we got all unloaded, a couple horses doctored with spray from either cuts or rubs then let out. Britt removed a few of Slim’s water beans while we hauled coolers and saddles in. I checked and we had 1/10th of rain.

Pizza and guacamole supper, rain came down briefly as B and Mom went to let Slim out with the herd. We brought Lola who was soaked from the days rain in to spend the night, first in about 2 weeks. B was off after 8 as she works tomorrow. Mom went for a hot bath and S to bed while I did some computer catch up then showered up. I started season 4 of Queer Eye at 10 but was soon dozy after our busy last week. Time for some shut eye.
