Internet Fixes, Wedding Blog Marathon & Holiday Lights

I was awake early, laying there thinking about the day’s plans ahead, when at 8:10 the phone rang — the Internet repairman was already at our gate, well ahead of his 9 o’clock appointment. I took him downstairs to see all the Internet equipment, and while he ran his checks for the next hour inside and out, I enjoyed my coffee and worked on my blog post. As well as a Facebook post for Remembrance Day, today the 11 month and 11 day it was 11 degrees out!

By nine, he was done with his evaluation, suggesting the only improvement would be to upgrade to 5G — which would double our monthly cost — so we’ll have to think on that. After opening the gate to let him out, I fed Harley and got back to my day.

In the city there was still more trick or treating

and princess dress up

and yard cleanup, Renn wore matching pop-picking gloves as her Dad :)

Inside, Sheldon was making his coffee and browsing his laptop. I dove back into my wedding day blog, which is easily turning into three or four posts, thanks to all the amazing photos everyone shared.

In the garage, I brushed stripper onto the two table tops and, after an hour, scraped them clean. Sheldon started hanging Christmas lights along the rail of the house and paddock while I neutralized, rinsed, and set the tables to dry. We paused for lunch, then S took a short rest in Big Brown before returning to his lights.

Britt and Cooper came out before two for their horse chores, including washing her dog car blanket since her washer’s acting up. I took a little photo break, then headed back to power sanding the dry table tops and hand-scraping the edges — always the most time-consuming part with those curves and tiny crevices. One edge complete, I switched back to my wedding photos, finishing photos for part one of the big day!

B headed home before four, not staying for supper, which left us a full family pack of cabbage rolls (thanks, Mom K!)to enjoy. While they baked, I whipped up queso and tostadas as an appetizer for us to nibble after S finished his Christmas light setup — still more to do, but a solid start, kind of like my wedding blog.

After supper, I packaged up Harley’s bone broth and set another pot to simmer. S headed to the TV room to watch the Flames (another loss, sadly), while I published yesterday’s blog post and uploaded the videos for Wedding Day Part 1 to go live in the morning. I popped outside to see the northern lights, not as bright here as other places but still lovely.

I ended my night with Project Bakeover — and even got in a little workout while watching (finally right, Shaina?). Once S was up from the game, we finished the Elvis documentary, he drifted off to sleep, and I started Gran Turismo before calling it a night.
