The ground was coated in frost and the thermometer read –2°C—perfect weather to enjoy a hot coffee in bed. By the time I headed out to feed Harley, a thick fog had settled over everything. S tackled some investment tasks while I did a bit of accounting, and by late morning we loaded up the truck, Harley included, and drove to town in a now steady rain.
We grabbed lunch at our favourite Opa before S dropped me off to get my nails shortened and sprinkled with pink glitter for the festive season. While I was there, he picked up a few groceries, dropped off mail, swung by the library for a book, and collected Cooper—then circled back for me. The rain only got heavier as the day went on.
On our way home, we swung through Tims for a tea, and I called the pharmacy about flu shots. Lucky timing—they had exactly two left—so we stopped for those and picked up a few more groceries while waiting out the observation period. Back home, the rain had eased but the fog refused to lift.
I settled in to catch up on the blog while S chatted with his uncle Jerry. Afterward, I hauled up the storage chest for the mantle angels and got them all displayed. Meanwhile, S took the dogs for a much-needed walk, though the fog was so thick he could hardly see a few steps ahead.
For supper, I made tacos. S headed to the TV room for the Flames game, and I cracked open my new library book, The Alchemist. I’ve been on the waitlist for almost a year, so I dove right in and read nearly half, taking a break when B arrived for tacos after feeding at work. There was a light skiff of snow that came down for a short time.
After yet another Flames loss, S came upstairs and joined me for a workout before we started a new series called Absentia. When he fell asleep, I finished off another episode of Project Bakeover.

The house is looking festive.
