First camping trip of the year

The temperature was 14 degrees when H went outside after 7, and it had risen by the time she came back in at 8:45. The morning was a rush of feeding pets, watering the garden, and drinking coffee before S left for church and I set out to do some marketing, finish Friday's blog post, and add photos. All the planters were watered, as the temperature had already reached 20 degrees.

Stucco color dried looks really good

S lingered after church to enjoy coffee and cookies with the Paetz's. Meanwhile, Britt was busy administering medication and feeding the mares. Noticing the group's social time over the fence, she decided to combine them all. These 4 new additions have nearly doubled the herd's size this week, and now the original group is intently observing yet another new duo at the ranch.

We departed from the yard at 1 p.m., heading north and arrived at Keiver's Lake shortly after 2 p.m. The Benbows had almost finished setting up their camp. Once we set up ours, the vacation officially started. It was filled with catching up, laughter, snacks, beverages, and a campfire of course, all under the sweltering heat of nearly 30 degrees.

Shaina took Renn for lunch with Jenna, check out her wild hair in the heat :)
