2 items completed for my market

The sky was overcast and threatened rain, yet only a few droplets fell as we enjoyed our coffee in bed. S set off to volunteer at the rodeo grounds again, even forgoing his first hockey practice since the shutdown in May. I ventured out to apply another coat of paint to the small green table. As it dried, I organized the garage. The real rain began around 11:30 but, once again, it was short-lived.

Kaylin, Nathan, and little Renn had planned to visit today, but the uncooperative weather changed their plans. Additionally, Kaylin had to cover for an employee who left work unexpectedly. Our plans have certainly been fluctuating negatively lately. Earlier, a woman came by at 12:30 and took away all the boxes and packing paper I had accumulated once again.

After finishing the last of the chili, I spent a few hours applying the transfer to the tabletop. Once completed, it received a flat clear coat.

Britt and Cooper were out before 3 PM; she had pizza she'd brought and then attended to the horses. Meanwhile, I was moving the table inside after applying a second clear coat. Back in the garage, I cut the paper for the message board, affixed it with spray glue, and tucked the edges beneath the frame to finish it. S got home before 4 PM, just as I was staging the board inside. He settled on the couch for a nap.

The table received a third clear coat, this one a satin finish, in the living room free of flies. The garage, however, is full of them. Britt took care of Roo's needs after their long ride and asked for a cold soda. After his nap, S got up and sharpened my pruning shears. I tested the large ones while taking B the soda. He went to work on the dump trailer brakes, and I went to pick potatoes for dinner, picking an extra hill for Britt as well. She treated Switch, with me supplying the soap and administering her medications. Today, the condition looks better, with less drainage, so no need for extra padding or a standing wrap. Hallelujah! Thank you for your excellent care and attention to our animals. She relaxed on her phone while Bird ate, and then they headed home.

Meanwhile, back at the house, S prepped the steaks while I prepared the potato pack with fresh herbs. I also whipped up a fresh beet leaf, onion, pepper, and herb sauté for the prince, accompanied by a pot of delicious beets. The effort put into fresh garden vegetables is truly worthwhile. After dinner, we both went outside after I applied the final clear coat on the table. I deadheaded the flowers and did some watering. S continued with the tree watering he had started, then completed his brakes. We encountered Dave as he came out to feed his mares in the ranger, just as we were moving the filing cabinet to the approach to give away. The liquidation of items goes on.

The hot tub soak was delightful on a beautiful night; even at 18 degrees, the stillness made it heavenly. Hearing Roo causing a ruckus in the shelter, I went out to check—just her usual antics of wall-banging, dirt-pawing, and mineral-eating. I opened the far paddock gate to give them more room to forage as the paddocks are beginning to show signs of being heat stressed and overgrazed. Inside, S had showered and was filling the coffee pot before settling into bed with his phone. After my shower, I prepared yogurt bowls for us and joined him in bed to finish writing today's blog post. We wrapped up watching "I am Celine Dion" and started "Roadhouse," but had to stop for Sheldon's sleep, so I ended the night watching some "McLeod's Daughters" before turning off the lights.
