Roads less taken

We awoke to a dreary cool overcast morning. Coffee was needed for sure and some breakfast. Shower for S and dishes all done up. We packed and hooked it all up ready to roll. A short but lovely visit with the bride, groom and some family was enjoyed before we set out west after 11. A stop again at Tim's for a hot tea and muffin for the drive.

Fuel was filled in Oyen. We seemed to be following rain as we went. B had text Mr Jenkins foot was better today. Looked like it was an abscess that is now draining. Good to hear. S took another unique drive home. Many roads we have not been on in ages. Of course it included a river drive. We travelled 1000 kms to take in the festivities and saw lots of country.

snippet of the bday luncheon

We arrived home around 4 right behind Britt and Dave pulling into the yard. B was just home from a surprise luncheon for Kaylin in the city. We got to unloading quick. B caught Roo. Sharon and Stan stopped out not long after to help her appraise her used saddle she picked up yesterday. I checked rain gauges to find we had 1/2" here!! B rode in the saddle as well as Sharon's to see yet another tree fit on Roo. She is not convinced the style and color is for her. The rise was not comfy as well but was possibly due to ill fitting underwear! :)

My trusty furniture scout Amanda found me this antique high chair. Mom kindly picked it up and delivered to my door. THANK YOU both!! XOXO

I cooked up a sausage supper. B and Dave joined us. They visited till 8 then were off to Grady's place. Tomorrow she starts back at Moore's full time. S and I hit the hot tub for a well needed soak. Nights are getting cool..brrr. We finished Fast & Furious 9 on the TV for better viewing. This movie got hokier as it went along! My throat feels even worse today with ears crackling and nose starting to run. Time for some healing sleep.
