My routine has changed dramatically and who would ever hope to hear barking in the night? For the last 12 plus weeks I have had pills and walk at 9 am then take off the muzzles. Now it is just the 2 mares and the grass is lessening in the pen and soon they won't need them on. Routine is comforting and so was the protective barks that I learned to know the differences in. This am I took off the muzzles again waiting for a big white giant to come loping around the corner to give a big leg hug and fluff tussle in return. Every day routine 365 is hard to change. ;(
I made a cappuccino and did a bit of computer work before the lady arrived to pick up her tack around 10:30. I was wiping the house sign in hopes it was dry enough to put together and send back to Oyen with Jenny P today. Once she was on her way I finished up the sign and got it staged quick and wrapped up. I loaded it and the coffee table that sold and ran to town. I stopped quick to say hi to AJ and the kids at the park then dropped the parcel at their house chatting with Craig quick.
Next was to drop off the coffee table, it turns out the lady was the and one that sold us the puppy pen we picked up back in June. I picked up a sweet little antique table in aspen and seeing on that side of town grabbed my favourite opa then headed for the ranch before 1:30.
Britt was here and just heading out to ride Bird then Roo. I was putting another coat of stain on the dining table when she was headed to town around 3:30. After the table I worked on some marketing, a tutorial and blog posts. B was back to pick me up before 5 to run to the local tack shop quick.
finally, the first harvest
We were back just before 6, Shaina was here working on her laptop. B tried out her new grooming gloves quick then she and Cooper were off for home. I had posted the wee shelf from long ago this am and a gal wanted it. She drove out from Calgary arriving at 6:30 to get it and on her way.
Around 8 Shaina suggested a ride so I text B who drove back out a 3rd time today to join us. I caught Pepper for her, brushed and put on his bareback pad ready for her. It has been quite awhile since we rode at dusk/dark. The bugs were a bit pesky but better in the more open windy areas and a nice ride with two of my girls. Back at the barn some got snacks and a hose while Switch started her new herbs we picked up earlier to help her eyesight. She and KD got their muzzles on and released.
It was now almost 10, B and Cooper set off for home, Shaina and I inside where I made us a smoothie for our very late supper/snack. Then she was off for a soak in the tub while I showered quick and crawled in to watch a couple Selling Sunset episodes.
