polox practice & dinner guests

Today we were all up early enjoying a baileys laden coffee to get us all going. Grama and Papa were off just ahead of us to watch ball in Lethbridge. Britt and I caught and loaded horses and we were out of the yard and on the road before 9:30. Today is first practice for Colarado tournament, all being held at Ranahan field outside Okotoks. The forecasted heat pushed practice up an hour too 11 which is good cause it was 21 at 9 am and mid day it hit 27 again.

Practice went well, seeing Shaina is in Hawaii and Shelby had no horse, we took KD for her to practice on so was a win win. A quick visit while the horses ate after and we were back on the road. I jumped out at Sobeys' and loaded up on sushi and chicken wings for our late lunch.

Back at the ranch it was almost too hot to do anything but it sure was enjoyable to sit on the shaded deck. The tree watering process began as rain does not seem to be in the future. I also rotated a few horses out to mow lawn in and around the round pen.
The Gosling family joined us on the deck followed by a burger barbecue supper. It was really yummy with a great fruit spinach salad and rhubarb crisp thanks to the G's. I was on a roll with my new vitamix making slushy drinks to keep us all cool.

After they headed home it was a laid back night tuckered from a day of sun and fun.
