Happy Halloween

happy Halloween Friday.. was an amazing day for Halloween in Alberta, It hit 16 balmy degrees!! Britt was off in costume and their group; Snow white and the 7 dwarfs even won Best Group at School, yay!
I posted my stock on kijiji before getting ready to head to town at noon. I dropped off items sold to ladies, made a few quick stops to secure new items, then had my acupuncture appointment before carrying on. Groceries, paint and more supplies were needed before I met Coreena to drop her door prize win and surprise her with my fall favorite pumpkin tea!
Back at the ranch the dogs were so excited so I took them for a walk. It seems my poor starving ponies are digging up the grass all along the fence.. good grief. Back at the house I unloaded, staged the shelves and got busy painting the hutch.

I did have my only 2 trick or treaters arrive, so cute!! (OK I did request they come but usually I get 1 kid per year in the past.. this year no Ava or Cade)

Here is Raphael Asher and Giraffe Ada

Britt got home from work after 7, I made a MEAL for us. She then was loaded up and off to a party staying overnight at Brooke's to work again in the am at 10. I enjoyed a couple refreshments, waited for no more kids to show ~ Kaylin was so excited to hand out, said it made her feel like a grown up, she got "45 little munchkins" ~ Amanda said they had 5 X what they had in the old house with 77 rolling in, but none of us like the grande point house with 125 usual.
I enjoyed starting season 2 of The 100 and relaxing while the paint dried as well as updating yee old blog!. Of course Shana was hitting the pubs and if you live with a makeup artist what costume would you choose.. something with FX!!

hoar frost is back

It seems the fog stuck around all night and most of Thursday and cold! -2. Britt bowed out of going in to the vet for 7:30 not wanting to drive in the fog in the dark so had a later start to her day once back in bed. I finally got motivated to do so things in the garage, I worked on the two small shelves I picked up

Today the fog stuck around most of the day, it was still fairly thick as I drove over to have coffee with neighbor Rhonda at 2 and see the final house (gorgeous by the way!) now they are moved in but when I came home at 5 it was lifted for a mile or so but by 6 it was socked back in.

I also got busy working on the last hutch I got, time to scrub up, remove hardware and set up ready for painting and dark waxed a shelf. Britt worked again after school so no big supper plans, ha! She did get home in time for me to help her sew her name on her costume.

I spent The evening finishing season 1 of The 100. about 5 episodes lol (in between helping B sew) but shut out lights around 1 :-)

how about those gas prices.. these are in Calgary, not Strathmore yet! I hope they come soon but may have to make room in my full tank lol

nice weather remains

early morning Tuesday is here again. Sheldon was off by 4 taking his truck for the first time. Upon waking the whole yard was fogged in, hoar frost everywhere and -5.. ICK! Britt was off to school in the fog while I enjoyed a hot coffee and turned on my furnace!!
It seems our house is too sealed and the fans required to try and pull the smoke from burning lasagna drippings sucked ash everywhere so I vacuumed the main floor hoping to get it all. The sun finally started to burn thru around 11:30, nice to see it back. I truly am not ready for winter yet. It did get up to 10 but did not seem warm, Diego concurs spending most of the day begging to get back in the garage.
Accounting and sorting my many photos took up most of the day. I do feel like the sore throat & continued headache may be taking hold but no wonder with all the sick people around me. Shaina did venture to the hospital in the city today but said a waste as they told her more fluids with Tylenol but did swab and draw blood.

Another open house/past customer/good neighbor stopped to pick up more items. This required I had to get dressed but hot tea and yoga pants were my comfort items of the day. A quick zucchini sauteed for supper and I finished all available episodes of Suits on Netflix and started The 100 as suggested by Shaina. I finished 5 episodes before shutting out the lights!

Britt got home around 10 from working and working out and told me a friend was badly injured this am in the fog when she hit a gravel truck sitting in the middle of the road in the fog with no flashers! She is ok but had a rough go with broken femur, lacerated intestines etc, best wishes go out to Danielle.

Here is my link of "Stock to Paint", just for you Mom and anyone else looking for a certain piece, I just might have it, but note this is only a fraction of it :-)

Today is also Mama Two Feathers birthday, Happy cake day Mama XOXO

Wednesday was a nice sunny day but while plagued with a headache I managed to organize my recent finds in the garage after a couple coffees and Britt off to school. I also started painting a Christmas themed rustic set and took apart a headboard hoping to make into a shelf.

The day was so lovely hitting 14 so I spent time outside feeding a few apples to the ponies then trimmed Switch. She grazed down the darn wild oats while I picked the dreaded dog poop. It is good we have the horse poop forks to make it a bit easier! I then put her and Julio in the round pen to work on it.

Britt was excited to not work after school and have a hot meal but she arrived home grabbing clothes and heading back in to work the tanning salon as a coworker was sick and unable to work. No hot meal but more $$ for the Beasle. I put the ponies back before it got dark (which is earlier every day) and had a nice hot shower!

I managed to find my season finales for last season for Revenge and Reign then caught a couple more episodes of The 100. They did run a little late but once you get started... fog rolled in around midnight as I was watching.

down time.. whew

After the busy rush to get prepared for open house I have my first down time day. Unfortunately I woke up at 3 am and could not sleep till around 5:30 so the day felt sluggish. I tried a shower and coffee but it still was lazy. In my early dark awakeness I did however send offers to everyone who attended the open house to receive $$ off, either $5, 10 or 20 at certain price points on remaining items.
Britt was off to school while Sheldon relaxed on his last day off too especially since it was windy and cool around 2 only getting to about 8 as the days high. I had one of my w/e customers come pick up her large items, thanks Shel for loading her up! and she bought even more! I then moved the rest of goodies down to Kaylin's room which I shall now call my "store". I also built a fire and even though sunny outside it became warm now inside (still not allowed to turn on furnace ;-( but I can tomorrow!)

I staged the table to show round and chairs at it
The discount offer paid off, I had 3 other clients buy more thing too so it keeps getting better. Sheldon kindly ran one of the items to town dropping with Shaina who will take back to the city for pickup, THANKS you two! Poor Shaina is not feeling well and even after 13 hours sleep feels terrible. I have a certain feeling she did get Tessa's mono while visiting in Texas. While in town he ran a few errands of his own as well as picked me up a super cute old fashioned desk and deposited my hard earned, over worried open house deposit. He also brought us back hot pumpkin teas!! YUMMY! XO
He also brought groceries for me to make lasagna so I made 3. However it seems that they decided to bubble over and instantly added smoke to the smoky from fireplace air requiring all doors to be open and fans. WTH, all my hard work literally going up in smoke! :-) While I was making them Sheldon took out a bale for the ponies making them very happy.
these were pictures I took 5 days ago when he took them a bale- see it was a nice day- but was funny to watch as he tried to "shake" the bale chunk off but finally had to manually do it
After our lasagna feed, I turned up the stove fan and we headed to Carseland to pick up some bidding items, an antique dresser and vanity. Turns out they are so old the casters are wooden, these may be a keeper ;-) Back home we unloaded and returned to smelly house! I updated the blog while the sports master caught up on more games before going to sleep early.
there is a stool and mirror for the vanity too,  ;)
Britt worked after school and not home till 10 to a dark house as Sheldon sleeping by 9 and me trying to as well lol. She did have to show me pictures from the vet clinic today where they removed a calf's eye.. ick! She finally sent me the sunrise photo she took the other day.. cool B!

First Creative Moments open house

Sunday, October 26, first Creative Moments open house. Coffee and baileys were needed for sure as final touches were made. Sheldon put up my sign at the gate on his way over to Matt's to help him tarp straw bales and have a coffee. He took big D and Coco along making their day to. He was back in time to meet Gerry for day 2 of wiring around 11.

A couple gals buying for a local auction called to see if they could stop early unable to make the 1-4 time slot. They were great customers and gld they came. Gail made it and got all set up, she was so sweet bringing me fresh flowers and Tims for Sheldon and I, THANKS GAIL!!
Amanda arrived around 11:30 as 1st customers were loading up. Mom and Jessie arrived soon after with hot pizza for the crew, THANKS MOM XOXOXOXO
Kaylin, Shaina and 2 Jessicas were next to prepare fruit and mimosas for Kaylin's Stella and Dot party downstairs that Gail was setting up for. The boys came in for pizza then hurried out as we got ready for the rest of the guests to arrive at 1.
The afternoon went  well with about 25 guests coming thru the doors to check our wares. We appreciate each and every person who ventured out to support our first event. I also am grateful to my customers who supported me buying via online as unable to make it. THANKS everyone!! most appreciated!
my supporters from the farthest; my Mom and Jessie who made a near 6 hour round trip from Oyen and one of my besties, Lori (who just happens to be Jessie's daughter!) from Airdrie. We got a quick but nice visit in after the party ended, Thanks ladies!! XOXOXO
Kaylin took her friends out to meet the ponies
Around 5 Britt made it back home, Gail was cleaned up and off, the girls headed back to the city, Mom, Jessie and Lori finished up our visit and headed there directions. The day was overcast and cool but soon a sleety squall moved in making Mom's near 3 hour drive back home bit of a white knuckler.
Amanda helped me move some of the bigger pieces that did not sell back down to storage then loaded up her remaining pieces and was off to meet her family who was returning from Oyen for the overnighter.  Thanks AJ!!

Sheldon and Gerry finished up and came in for snacks and drinks around 6 just after Amanda left. I worked on updating my facebook "for sale" album. It seems I sold about 25% of the stock I prepared. I am happy with all that did sell and how well the traffic flowed thru the house and meeting new and return customers and friends.

prepare for open house complete

The morning started fairly early for a Saturday. Britt was off to work at the tanning salon for the day. I got busy hauling the rest of the goods up and pricing and was finished by 11:30!! EEEKK this makes the open house real for sure. Just hope I don't have to haul it all back down, ha!

my inventory.. about 90 items and combos

 MY CUTE TAGS

Sheldon had Gerry his electrician co-worker come out for the day to help wire the shop. I whipped up Mom's chocolate cake into cupcakes and served them with lunch. A young couple stopped out to check out my grey dresser and immediately loved it and hauled it home for their baby's room.
To fill the hole I hauled in the newly painted dining table. It seems thought that after getting the pedestal in and trying to carry the table top, I decided I may need help with it.
The day was overcast, cool and windy but around 3 at least the sun came out. Britt was home from work around 4, forced to clean her bedroom floor and help me carry in the table top.  Sheldon and Gerry finished up wiring around 4:30 for the day. Sheldon kindly cut off 2 new table bolts to the right length for me. Thanks! Amanda came out and set up her wares. She joined us for supper and visit and around 8 Britt was off for a sleepover at Amber's and she too headed home to get missing things together and possibly whip up a new hat. It was then movie night for us, Transformers 4, long too much action in parts but an alright movie night movie.
