956 - -30 upon wakeup, family night!

Day 956 finds us still in the deep freeze ;-( minus 30 on wake-up bark from the big D. I took the horses some salt and loose minerals out.

My project today started with scrubbing the entry cabinet then after dry putting on a good coat of beckley coal black. I also was going to start the family sign but noticed the bumped corner so had to repaint another.

Sheldon worked on changing  the heater cord end that Diego bowled off when he ran thru it then once the truck warmed he and Shaina ran to town before 2. Shaina was going to the gym and Sheldon to get the slow leak tire fixed. However it did not go as planned, the shop said 20 min repair but an hour later he was still waiting there.. eek. Eventually they got it fixed, ran errands and were back home bearing hot teas.

Dale and the kids arrived just after 5. I had thrown in pizzas for supper and soon the Paetz family rolled out to join us for an evening of supper and socializing. Even Kaylin came out from the big city to join in too. I also whipped up a new yummy recipe we all enjoyed called chili con queso!

The Paetz's headed home around 11 and Shaina went back to the city with Kaylin for the night. Dale, Sheldon and I stayed up to visit a bit longer heading to bed around 1:30 and by now the temperature was only -14 .. nice!!
