What a difference a day makes. The wind and snow were gone this morning, with temperatures hovering around -15—still cold, but calm enough to feel manageable. Time for coffee. I tried one with eggnog today, but it’s safe to say one was enough. Pet care and blog work came first, then I jetted to town just before 10. I made a quick stop at the mailbox on the way, then on to town for my facial. It was absolutely lovely and thoroughly enjoyed—thank you, Mom, for the Christmas cash that went straight toward that little luxury.
S had his coffee and morning news scroll at home, then headed to town a bit early to drop off trash and recyclables before his hockey day. After my spa stop, I grabbed groceries and finally picked up my photos, then popped into a couple of stores for gifts and found a clear container for cards and Opa wrap. Cooper was next on the pickup list, followed by collecting the furniture piece that had been set out before yesterday’s storm and was still there. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as described, so it will be listed back on the free site.
Back at the ranch, I unloaded groceries and took the two horse blankets off—temperatures were now right around zero. I uploaded the videos for yesterday’s blog, published it, and then moved on to troubleshooting why Apple TV keeps logging me out. Nothing like a 45-minute call with Apple support. In the end, the fix was simple: uninstall and reinstall the app.
I finally started the jumbo raisin cookies I’ve been planning for weeks, watching Apple TV on the new kitchen television. Naturally, I decided mid-mix that I wanted voice command set up like the bedroom TV, so I called Costco Concierge. That turned into over an hour on the phone, ending with a transfer to Samsung and the final verdict: my model doesn’t support that feature. WTH.
S arrived home just as I was receiving this frustrating news—yet another chunk of life lost to television issues. Thankfully, the cookies turned out great. S happily licked the beaters and bowl while also trying, unsuccessfully, to track down a long-overdue rebate. I made us a tasty salad to go with leftover spaghetti casserole.
By supper time, the wind had picked up again—boo—putting a damper on what had been a calm, promising day. I sorted photos and wrote today’s blog while S headed down to the TV room for hockey night at home. B was out a bit later to feed, reblanket the 2 horses, bring is Stella to the garage and take Cooper home. I ended the evening watching more Palm Royale before drifting off to sleep, grateful for the quiet moments, if not the technology.
