The day began slowly with coffee in hand and a quiet Instagram scroll before I eased into computer catch-up and the usual round of pet care. After a shower, I tried on the much-researched underwear that arrived last night… and once again, the fit was a disappointment. Why is finding decent underwear such a battle?
Back to something more predictable: the turkey cutting board project. More sanding, scraping, and—naturally—even more sanding.
S rolled in from the east country just before lunch, proudly carrying $180 in poker winnings after taking second place at the tournament. He’d also picked up Vietnamese for lunch (and Cooper too), so we ate while he shared the highlights of the night. Then it was back to work: him cleaning out his truck and me diving into more garage projects.
I glued the loose back spindle on the chair, then tried a new tactic on the cork board—using clear coat to bond the floral paper since the spray adhesive had given up on me. After that, it was back to the carving board for yet another round of scraping and sanding.
Since S had brought home bison pieces for Harley, I tackled a deep freeze clean-out to make room. Once that was conquered, I moved on to the shower door. Before the new bottom sweep could go on, the glass needed a serious scrub. The water-stained crystals had to be shaved off with a glass razor (strangely satisfying), followed by a full clean. I realized the side fins need replacing too—of course I forgot to ask about them yesterday. A quick call confirmed they have them, so that’ll be a job for another day. The silicone looks questionable to me in a couple ares but S insists it’s fine, so we’ll see.
Meanwhile, S was in the garage chopping heart and liver into Harley snack packs. Kaylin sent over the link to their professional wedding photos, so I tried going through them on our limited processor iMac—which, combined with our internet, made it feel like watching molasses load. Eventually, I got all the compressed versions downloaded. The photos are stunning—so many beautiful moments from their big day.
Later S relaxed with a crossword before heading out to the hot tub. With the warm Chinook air it actually hit +3°, snow melting everywhere and the day feeling strangely spring-like. S cooked pork chops from Jarrod’s latest pig for supper. He then settled into the TV room for the Flames game, and I curled up in the bedroom with more Big C. After the Flames win, we tried starting a new series but S was asleep within minutes—so I went back to Big C to end the night.

The shower will be like new!
