It was a lovely morning as I headed out to take H for a walk, Chuck was up with the dogs too. When I got back I made coffee which rousted S. I served the fellows a hot cup with a bowl of cereal and Deb joined in when she was out.
After crossing the water challenge successfully we came upon another that became a real challenge. S first attempt going thru had him choosing the left side which tipped us right. I tried putting my boot out in the puddle but it was higher then my rubber riding boots and seeing I was more weight on the right I crawled over S while Chad held the left side down as well. S backed up and gave it a run only to become seat high in water after being slowed by a tree stump and submerging the exhaust system, dam!
S whose boots were not tall enough too hooked up a long chain and a tow strap to Chuck’s razor. Chad pulled him backwards out of the deep puddle then the ranger was turned around manually with me turning the wheel and 5 pushing. The route was reversed back to the previous water challenge. The boys unhooked leaving us and taking a quick look at an alternative route out. They were back not long after, Hooked us back up and towed us back to camp. THANK YOU!!
We were back at camp by about 5:30. H was super stoked to see us ;) Now the challenge was how to get the ranger on the trailer to get it home. S was also checking the mechanical parts. Showers were taken by the girls as the guys came up with a plan. Deb went down a few sites to find some young fellows ho helped push the ranger up on to the trailer. hey all made it look easy and went smoother then anticipated. S strapped it down and it was ready to go home. We did get in 50 miles before the adventure ending puddle.
For supper Chad cooked up a delicious chicken Philly cheese sandwich which was so delicious. Karen made a salad and tater tots. It was such a great meal especially when one does not have to cook, THANK YOU!!
