perfect day for a trail ride

Sheldon had the coffee set to grind and brew at 8, Mom was up and drank 3 cups before I went out at 8:30! We had a quick breakfast, packed up and had the horses loaded by 10 and off to pickup Sharon and Timba. Kaylin and Shaina text they arrived safe and sound in Bangkok and were awaiting Britt's arrival. Yahoo! We arrived at Mesa Butte by 11:30, half an hour before club meeting time so we unloaded and checked out the first creek crossing on foot with the horses. Once the rest arrived we tacked up and ventured out for the day.

The trail boss, at one point soon after this picture the cell picked up a text from Shaina saying they had Britt and all were well, fantastic!!
Switch crossed the creeks like a champ

yes my weeding yesterday shows inaccurate  sunscreen application ;)
It was a glorious day in the sun, there were a few changes to our usual trail with a sad clear cut area but most was the same. Timba refused to cross any water but with the help of Hawk and Mom they dallied up and drug them across 3.. see pictures below.

these were captured by Sheldon.. well done

then about 3 we pulled back in where the horses enjoyed grazing while we had a cold beverage and our sandwiches I had packed

Allison's curious horse Banjo thought he might like beer but not sure
After a great relax time, we all loaded up and were off for home around 4:30, dropped Sharon off and then back to the ranch. It was 26 here.. whew.. we brushed and hosed off Hawk and headed to the A/C. I even dosed off while Mom and Sheldon chatted but managed to drag myself awake to make us all spaghetti supper. Sheldon hit the shower while Mom and I went outside into the heat again. I fed Bird and doctored Switch then she was off to visit the Paetz's. I hit the tub then crawled in by the now sleeping Prince. What a gorgeous day!
