road trip home

Up early after an ultra cuddly night. B took Lola for a quick walk and once dressed we were off to Tim's by 7:30 ish. Hot drinks in hand we made our way to Lola's pre-op appointment at the college about quarter to 8. After a thorough exam, blood work and an unsuccessful attempt to get the output collection,  Lola and I were back on the road before 9.

I planned to stop and rearrange the booth but arrived half hour before it even opened. Time to check out the local thrift store. Low and behold I found 3 new pieces which I stuffed in the car trunk. Thank goodness for luxury car trunk room ;)

Now to the booth, it really needed a rearranging as a display case sold. The first thing I saw thought was my small accent table with legs bust off, top scratched and cracked;( Lori B happened to be into own so stopped by to visit while I arranged. Nice to multi task ;) An hour and half later I was back on the road yet again arriving home by noon.

Lola seemed happy to be in cooler temps as it was warmed up to 0. I put a coat of poly on the nightstand now the glaze was good and dried.

I updated my tracking sheet before jetting to Caresland to pick up a TV stand. This time the luxury trunk was just a bit to small but luckily I left Lola's leash in the car do could jimmy rig it thru the trunk holes to secure the hatch would not fly open on drive home.

Britt messaged that Lola has high liver enzyme levels, hmmm well now. It could be the bison bones she recently had but hope it is just a passing thing.

Sheldon was home by 6 having stopped at Mercedes to get my oil alert reset. He stopped to fuel it up and wash it too before coming home. After supper I painted the dripped on drawer again, sanded it completely down and then painted again, good grief!! I was off for a long soak in a hot tub, changed the sheets then crawled into bed to read my book. Who doesn't like clean sheets after a soak? Sheldon watched the hockey game which ended in a win.

little visitors & a road trip to Olds

Monday started -15, brrr time for a hot coffee to get moving. Sheldon caught up on work update but does not head out tonight. Instead he is off to Calgary office for a couple days then heading north Thursday for the w/e. I uploaded the Saturday blog pics and got it posted before checking on the nightstand. Looks good ready for the next step but that will have to wait till afternoon as Ada and Archer arrived after 10:30. We had a fun visit before AJ was back around 1:30 to pick them up.

I worked on glazing nightstand while S trouble shot the outside lights that quit working.

The bedroom suite was picked up after 6:30 however one drawer had a poly drip so had to stay for repair but the rest was loaded and off.

I got packed up,meaning dog gear and sausage for B and headed to Olds. I had thought about going in the morning but it seems the car needs gas so best go tonight and fill without rushing.

I grabbed a tea for the drive and Lola and I were off arriving at Britt's by 9:30. The plan was to let her sleep in the garage but Steph needed to get her car out to go to her lambing shift 2-6 am so she ended up sleeping with B and I. Yep the big lug thought she was in heaven and Britt thought it the best night ever. Seeing she needed it cooler, B cracked the window. However her bed only has a thin quilt so by morning she and I were Popsicles and Lola was still panting ;)

yep this is B & I on half the bed while princess stretched out ;)

furniture pick up day

The hutch was picked up at 11

Sheldon ran to town to hit up his favorite store (rhymes with Arabian fire) to get more stuff, pick up the last of the meat and get a freezer from Gary to put in mez to use for future bison storage

The desk was off to its new home at 1

I scrubbed, made repairs and put a coat of grey primer on this nightstand

I made stroganoff supper with left over prime rib as per the Prince's request. Britt headed for Olds before 8 and soon after 8, our cleaning gal popped out to grab a large pile of boxes for moving. I put the first coat of brushed metal on the now dry nightstand.

sausage Saturday

Today is sausage making Saturday, we are all looking forward to it as we have not had good old AV sausage in quite some time. While Sheldon worked at prying the semi frozen deer cubes apart I wrote the bedroom suite blog and posted it.

Off to finish the desk with a distress and coat of wax on top, installed the new hardware and do a photo shoot. As always this takes almost as much time but this desk was good size for my backdrop and leave in garage rather than haul in.

Sheldon spent the day preparing for sausage making but did head out to shovel the walk and finally take down the front entry lights and garland. The sun was out and it went from -10 upon waking to -1. While I was moving the car I decided to vacuum it all out well and used the shop vac to suck sanding dust as I gave the new dining table a quick test.

cant wait to get the missing leaves, may do this one for us, check out the amount of filler used ;)

I had interest in the barn wood coffee table, hope it pans out and recent interest in the white hutch. It turns out at 3 a local gal messaged to bring her sister in law to see it from Calgary. 'This put Sheldon to helping me tidy as I vacuumed and made the house presentable. I also cut up a veggie tray to snack on while making sausage. They arrived just before 5 and instantly loved it and the SIL wrote a check having her brother who was along come back tomorrow to pick it up, Yeah!

Kaylin and Shaina rolled in as the folks were here for the hutch. Busy kitchen for a bit and once they were on their ways we all got busy making sausage. For the next 3 hours, the girls helped us out getting a real hands on on how to make sausage from scratch. In the end we had 34 AV recipe packages, 23 new pepper and garlic mix and 4 blocks of sausage meat. The packages were decked out to and will provide a chuckle when thawing.

The girls were off to the city at 9 loaded up with sausage, their valentines goodies and their eggs. Sheldon and I got the kitchen and equipment all scrubbed up and hit a hot tub to soak and watch SNL, another great day!
