Sleepy start Saturday with coffee and creamer, I was learning more on the tenant machine giving Sheldon and Britt a treatment each to reset their systems ;) Randy called a few times to get plans in order for a w/e away next w/e. Sheldon then spent rest of the morning trying to find tickets to a comedian for sat night.
Off to town to do some errands, sadly the furniture piece we were to pick up turned out to be not such a great piece, darn. We did get Britt's oil and filter for a change, dog food and a few other necessities before heading home. Britt suggested stopping at the waste transfer station to see if any cushions for D, how glad am I she suggested this, not only did we get him 3 new comfy cushions but also the most amazing antique chest of drawers and a cold wood nightstand. SCORE!! It kills me people toss absolutely perfect wood antiques into these bins. This chest would have been immaculate but other heavy pieces tossed in on it did cause dings in the top and knock off a pull and knob (which I did not notice until home) as well and break the bottom drawer and pull the back off. All are repairable other then the missing hardware and eventually I just had to call back then drive down to see if still in the bin. However a couple more couches had arrived after and jammed up the area to dig thru and the gates closed in half an hour. NOTE to self, look to see all pieces are there when you find such treasures ;)
real wood.. tossed in the dumpster ;( the poor antique was attacked by sticker loving people but had they not tossed her 2 casters and hardware pieces may have been intact and less dings.. but I will bring her back to life!
The drive down warmed up the jetta for the oil change Sheldon did once back. Britt was studying after back the first time and continued through the evening. I had started finishing my purple pieces prior to running back to check and finished them off once back. The frame got a gold wax that was vetoed so repainted and clear waxed, new glass cut and a quote added. The spice rack had silver details and white wax. Time to snap a few pics.
