ditch cleaning

Again I was awake early, this time at 7, Sheldon let D out at 7:30 and made the coffee so on with the day. Unload the dresser and get ready for folks to arrive to go over ditch cleaning rules and sort out the plan and then we were headed to town about 10:20. The ditches we had were the #1 east of Strathmore for 20 km but due to the change of w/e we lost 6 of our volunteers so only attempted 10.

Being that much dirtier and wider and only 10 of us, it took us 3 hours at a steady pace. Shaina had to run to work but the rest headed back to our place for a potluck and beer get together. Jackets and jerseys and other club things were chatted about. Everyone was gone about 4. Sheldon hit the couch for a nap while Britt hit the shower. I went out to get Baby moving to water and hose her legs.

It was so gorgeous out at plus 15 and sunny I grabbed the wheelbarrow and started dung pickup, dog and horse (in small pen). After his nap, Sheldon mowed the lawn, lane and ditches which always looks so nice. Britt was off to Rosebud again around 5 staying the night to celebrate.  My wheelbarrow was so full and the tires still flat, S had to fill and dumped in quad trailer running it to the pit for me, thanks. I took a flake of hay out to baby and spread all over her pen to give her a treasure hunt and let Daisy out. Tires now full I am ready to roll again but for now time to come in and chug a cold ice tea and update the blog. Sheldon picked back to the Jay's game.

hard to capture but pretty red sunset
