busy but HOT!!

Monday was back to work for us all, Britt was off to work 9-3, Shaina her usual double shift Monday 10-10 and Sheldon and I busy on the ranch. His project was to install the barn drain while mine was outdoors mowing all the lawns and multiple housekeeping/yard tasks. Eventually the balers arrived to rake the swaths in preparation to bale tomorrow. We ended the night once Shaina was home finishing season 1 of SOA!

Tuesday Britt was off to Stampede with Grady soon after Sheldon left for town. Shaina was up and off about an hour later for a massage then she was off stampeding too. Today was more horse whites laundry for me. I had Sheldon pick up epsom salts and scratches ointment from the vets and spent time soaking 3 of Hawk's feet, removing the scabs, drying and treating them before letting him graze near the shop with the TB gang. I also doctored Diego's leg again, this time with an ointment and vet wrap to help stop the licking. The balers arrived later in the day and by late afternoon had 108 bales rolled up.

Diego's leg wound not healing either
Once home Sheldon worked on finishing plastic and starting the rebar portion of the barn floor. Britt was home for supper and then was off to ball on a gorgeous evening. Since it was so nice Sheldon and I took the dogs for a walk, along with the rifle to peg a few rodents. This spurned a renewed marksman interest and grabbing a couple more boxes and the quad he spent the evening eliminating some more.

Wednesday Sheldon spent most of the day amazing 30 degree day sweating in the shop tying the rebar together while I mowed , did yard work and put together a fresh garden salad, made potato pack and roast pack. We all showered up by 3 and soon our supper guests began to arrive. The Creasy family (who Sandy and Cassidy just had kidney transplants 3 weeks ago) and the Cole's enjoyed a lovely night on the deck and feasting on the barbecued food. Britt demonstrated polox for us too. Shaina was home around 11 from work and after Cole's left we watched an episode of Sons of Anarchy before having a deep sleep. Thanks for the chocolate bars Shaina!!

Thursday was another sunny but only 25 degree day. Sheldon spent it getting the bales off the field and stacked along the road. Shaina was up and off to another double shift work day. I continued with yard work and once up and before her shift from 3-8, Britt helped me soak and treat scratches on Hawk and Julio. While we had them tied and drying we also attempted sheath cleaning but not with huge success. Between taking lunch to the field worker and house work, I watered more grass and trees. It is DRY!!!
