Easter Sunday

Up on this lovely Easter Sunday to get coffee going for all then hopped in the shower. 3 were off to church after 9:30. I got started on the Ball great-grandparents with quite a puzzle. They were back around 11:30 and I was still in the same spot unraveling the ancestral mystery.

I made scrambled eggs, beans and toast for lunch. I then took H for a walk and fed horses the watermelon rinds. Quick vacuum and sink cleaning were next up. Grama took a walk to the gate and back. Papa went out for a walk but had a fall scraping his arm badly. S was bathing Harley. Not the best idea as B and Coop arrived at 2. Mom and Dad arriving 10 minutes later.

THANK YOU to Mom and Dad and Ma and Pa for the beautiful flowers an chocolates. XOXO

OUCH!!

It was a nice sunny day for a visit. Nachos were made for an an afternoon snack to go with the cold beers. Calgary crew arrived before 4:30. More visiting, crossword puzzles, socks and chocolate bunnies given out and puppy play. Easter supper was requested by soon to be mom Kaylin; sausage and macaroni with tomatoes.

Trees pruned

Sunshine and plus 3 to start the Saturday. I did some marketing with my coffee. S found the Masters tournament for todays sports entertainment.

Off to the garage to work on the table tops. I went with a white gel stain then brushed some grey thru. This set has had many pivots but hopefully it all turns out. S went and picked up the partial bale he left at the winter gate seeing the snow is melting. The horses will choose to graze on the old grass vs the hay so no need t roll anymore out. Back inside I had him sort his coats hanging out there. I washed up my winter coveralls and a couple of his coats. Low and behold he found the car key! In his jean coat even though he checked all his coats many time yesterday. So glad it is found. He headed in for more coffee and a rest.

The table tops were wiped back and left to dry. Fingers crossed it looks neat. Being now plus 10, I ventured out to prune the apple trees. Mom suggested this am that it was prime time. The snow bank allows me to get up to the top easy but falling thru the snow was the hazard. The east pasture is 3/4 bare now. S mixed up tuna for lunch. I came in after 12 for a sandwich then back out to trim. We have allot of trees; many are fruit trees. S and H came out after while and made his water trenches for run off. He took the wagon full of tree branches and poop to the pit as well, thanks. Returning it empty I set about to fill it again. They both came back in to rest and watch golf.

from my aerial view

I worked my way around ending at the pear tree. There were many times I fell thru the snow to my crotch. HAHA there is lots of snow around many of the trees but it is sketchy. I came in for a cold drink at 3:30. Mom stopped out to show me photos and more details she has found for the family tree. Dad stayed in the car napping in the sun. Sheldon was off to his last hockey shinny of the season at 4. Mom and Dad headed back to town around 4:30. It is plus 14 but there is a bit of a wind. Both continue the melt.

Garage laundry continues along with brush washing, hair sweeping. I then got busy working on family tree stuff as Mom left me more information and photos. Ma and Pa K arrived just before 6:30 as I was typing. We had a nice visit. I put pizza in for supper. S arrived home from his hockey at 8. Cold beer and pizza with his Flames game starting. All but me headed to TV room to watch the game. I continued with my ancestry work.

Good Friday

No real fog this am on Good Friday. I put on the coffee and did some crosswords in bed. Once the prince awoke we did our last premium Fitbit meditation (My trial ends today). It was a relaxing start to the day till I remembered to look for the car key fob. I could not find it or my credit card anywhere. The last time I had my card was heading out for a hike at B's. I think it may be in some deep snow.

We set off for the city after 10. We are meeting Shaina to look at some places she is interested in buying. Seeing we were a bit ahead of time we swung thru Langdon's Tim's to grab a drink and breakfast. (S did have his usual porridge but could not pass up an apple fritter) Seeing it was so nice and roads dry we also went thru the car wash.

this was a very lovely place but on ground floor, not great for single girl

We arrived at the first place early (11:20) with Shaina and her realtor arriving not long after. For the next 2+ hours we toured 4 places. Wouldn't you know it, the one she loved had an offer just accepted late last night.

A couple shots of the one we all loved, that has an offer accepted but she did put in a back up offer.

City is PLUS 17!! After being dropped back at our car we headed to Costco. We assumed Good Friday would be busy but that was an understatement. Eventually we did get in and out with much less in our cart then planned. Perhaps this was a good thing. Now to eat finally. I chose Noodlebox which was good but spicy.

We arrived home at 4. S hit the couch and soon asleep. I looked for the key and NOTHING! WTH. Seeing it was lovely PLUS 12 out I fed H then she and I went for a walk. The walk was thru lots of melting snow. There are small lakes popping up all over and under the snow too. Back at the house I got the poop fork and cleaned up H poop around the yard. S was up and came out for fresh air.

I got the marrow out of H's bones and left broth to cool. S checked car and truck for the key, no luck. We moved inside and both checked again NOTHING. S was back on the couch to watch news. Supper was skipped for me after eating so late. S ate my lunch leftovers that were too spicy for me for his late supper.

After finishing marketing and accounting I headed out to the garage after 7. The dark stained table tops looked a lovely color but the stain showed everything. And some areas were grungy looking where the stain took darker. I decided to dry brush them the same base color. Two coats went on with touch ups on the bases too. The brushes were scrubbed. The cooler broth was put in containers and in the fridge.

I decided to try the new sanded on one of the stools I brought in. It is going to be some work. Thank goodness they came mostly sanded. I wrapped up my garage work at 9. Time for a soak in the hot tub for us. S was then back to sports moving on to a Blue Jays game. I worked on ancestry dates using the library book I have for the Red River Settlement.

Farmhouse table sells

Headache again on waking, boo.  And more fog. It started low lying but increased as morning went on. Coffee and marketing after our meditation for me. S had coffee and laptop time. I was excited to have another inquiry on the grey table with the lady wanting to come see today at 1. Our plans to go to the city pivoted quickly. This also inspired me to get the baby stuff I hauled out for Kaylin to look at and Christmas stuff still out all reorganized and put back under the stairs.

We are ready for babies; cowgirls and tap dancers too:)

S headed off to shinny at 11. After getting the furnace room organized it was time to tidy kitchen and entry. I finished the Etsy ad for the blue bottle and got it published. Then it was continuing the tidy. Harleys kennel was totally moved out and the area vacuumed and cleaned new bedding etc. She was moved to garage for all this and the table viewing.

The fog started to clear off at 1 as I finished the tidy and awaited my customers. They arrived after 1 to lovely clearing sunshine. They looked at the grey table, the antique square one and the white one. After much debate they chose the white one. Their little girl made Jenkins's day petting him for quite awhile. They were off before 2 with plans to return Monday to pick it up.

Now to get busy in the garage painting the coffee and end table bases a buttercream white. Once they were done I left them to dry. H and I went out to feed Bird after 3. I took the clean horses blanket and put away in the tack room. I hauled 2 stools back from the mez to the garage. H and I then went for our walk meeting S at the gate. I jumped in the back with H running behind. Back at the house I put Bird back in paddock. Then finally it was late lunch. S had picked up Opa, yummy!!

Now to put a second coat of paint on the table bases. S took a quick gopher loop in the ranger but even though plus 4 the wind has a bite. He decided to clean hot tub filters instead. I flipped the tables. wiped the edges, lightly sanded then put a coat of walnut gel stain on them.

I cooked up the tastiest live supper late seeing we had late lunch. Sautéed onions for the prince and crispy sweet potato fries. I gave H a bone to go chew outside and put a slow cooker full on to make broth. S washed up the pots while watching hockey. I worked on todays blog.

There is starting to be a small lake forming in the east pasture. The snow seems to be melting the most there. We headed out for a hot tub soak after 8:30. The wind had let up a bit but still swirly and the temp down to 0. S was back to hockey and I blog. I shut it down at 9 and went to bed to read and watch some YouTube plant videos.
