This was also our day to leave Las Vegas, so the morning was spent packing up to head north. Deb and I ran for groceries just after eight while Robby and Stephanie came by — she had some work to do, and he hung out with the guys as they finished loading up.
Kaylin's bouquet drying and only deals I found shopping was milk and eggs
We pulled out of the city at 10:30, making our way north on I-15. The gods were not with us today though — about 45 miles out, Chuck’s truck started blowing black smoke and lost power. We pulled over into an approach, and that became our rest stop for the next three hours. We made the best of it, pulling out the rug for Harley, setting up lawn chairs on the shady side, and enjoying some cold beverages while I made tuna sandwiches and snacks. Eventually, Chuck’s repair guy drove out from Vegas to fix the truck, and we were back on the road.
Harley and her flower shop, even have some in the front while driving.
Dam the luck Chuck as this just came home with $17,000 in repairs done

Crossing through the gorge into Utah brought a time change — back to Mountain Standard Time. When we finally arrived at Sand Hollow, and found our random camping spot in the red sand, both trailers were sitting at 93°F, and neither A/C would start. Sheldon eventually jumped the starter to get ours going (hallelujah!), while Chuck’s took a bit longer to sort out. just have A/C for the flowers! and sleeping comfort tonight.
I prepped veggies and salad to go with the chicken Chuck cooked last night. Once their friends Dorothy and Alan arrived around six, we enjoyed a build-your-own salad supper. The evening was filled with easy conversation — the girls all headed in around nine while the fellas stayed out until about eleven. I tried to finish the season of Hunting Wives but couldn’t quite make it.
Your trip was filled with so many challenges - breakdowns, heat, cold but through it all beverages, food and friendship prevailed.
