Balancing Books, Beef, and Big Brown Naps

It was my turn to make and deliver coffees in bed today. After feeding Harley and having a shower, I published a blog post—only to realize I’d forgotten half the photos. So, I got the rest edited and uploaded just before Craig arrived for our annual investment meeting at 10:30. Before he came, I tossed hay to the horses. I hope you all saw the bachelor/bachlorette blog post as it had lots of photos but the set up and big day may take a bit to complete as they have even more photos :)

Our meeting, as usual, went long—covering not only investments but plenty of farming and family talk too. Craig was off for home before 1:30. We had leftovers for lunch, then I got to work on creating a jewelry tracking list, which of course led me down a few fun rabbit holes of information.

S had a nap in Big Brown, dozing off mid–internet perusal. When he woke up, I had moved on to accounting, so he took Harley for a walk now that the wind had finally let up. It turned into a sunny 14°C afternoon.

I prepped a sirloin tip roast for supper in the Instant Pot and started it after 5. Even stretching the cook time to 15 minutes (for the 8L pot), the meat came out rare—guessing it was still too frozen inside. I took out the veggies, S sliced off the edges, and after making the gravy I threw the roast back in for another 15 minutes. Much better!

After cleanup, S headed to the TV room to watch hockey while I dove back into accounting—entering all the travel Visa info into Money and balancing our regular credit card. Funds were moved around and sorted, and I moved on to tutorial work: sharing the latest one, sending it to the company, and starting the next.

B was out to do her horse care but didn’t pop in to say hi or bye—she was gone within the hour. Once S finished his two hockey games and football, he announced it was time to wash the pots, though I had just done them. We wrapped up the night in bed: he scrolling online while I read more of my book.
