After another coffee in bed morning at the ranch, I went to release the horses. Roo chose not to wear her mask, so she remained in the paddocks while the others were let out. I fed Dave's mares and foals since he was away at the races, where he won two races, bringing his total to 1000 lifetime wins—congratulations to him.
S was busy fueling vehicles, and then we collaborated to erect the new bottle tree on the west side of the house. We mixed two batches of cement and secured the tree in place with a makeshift brace S created.
B and Cooper arrived after noon as we were having lunch. We administered cartrophen shots to both dogs. B topped up the mineral/salt tubs, fitted Roo's mask, and released her with the others, then headed home to pack for her early departure to Colorado for a conference tomorrow. Lucky girl. Meanwhile, I snapped a few photos for S of the trailer and assisted him in posting an ad online, hoping to sell the travel trailer as soon as possible.
I headed to the garage to work on my projects, gluing the veneer onto the cabinet top while my latest video uploaded inside on a tutorial. Once the green floral box tutorial was finally complete, I published it and shared it with paint companies on several pages. S maneuvered the skid steer to move Uncle Jerry's trailer back and then positioned Ron's travel trailer out front at the approach.
Next, I sanded the custom end table before stepping outside to enjoy the 16-degree sunshine. The absence of wind made it feel much warmer. I began storing the summer decorations while S attempted to install the new solar part with his new 0 ring tool. I deadheaded plants and removed many spent ones, with S tackling the thistles on the island. I swept hay in the mezzanine before asking him to bring the skid steer over. Together, we removed the zombie lilac tree, filling the quad wagon and necessitating a trip to the pit.
On the island, we removed bottles and rebar from the decaying tree, which was close to collapsing. As it grew late, I prepared short ribs in the instant pot, adding freshly dug onions and tomatoes, and cooked them for 45 minutes. The potatoes were cooked in a stainless dish inside as well. The onions, which I had picked up at the library, had grown huge!

S was indoors now too attempting to sync the new solar part, but without success. Dinner was delightful. Britt returned at 6:30 to feed everyone, and after my meal at 7, we enjoyed a splendid ride. The horses and dogs were well-behaved, making for a lovely autumnal outing. After completing her equine chores and feeding our horses, Britt hugged us goodbye and headed into town. Wishing B a wonderful trip.
S received an inquiry about the travel trailer; we're hoping it sells quickly as fall approaches and sales may slow. After some blogging and tutorial work, we relaxed in the hot tub, took a shower, and settled down to watch a high-end New York real estate show on Netflix with a yogurt bowl.
