Biggest paint project yet

Upon checking after coffee in the am there was another 1.5/10ths of rain totally 1/2". This is so needed. Today is Nathan's birthday. Cheers new dad Nate! Enjoy that new BBQ.

Loaded up with a bag of snacks, lunch and beverages S was on his way to the Valley after 10:30. He will stay at Moms again for next  2 or 3 nights. This weeks plan is to clean up the farmyard. I spent the next 2 1/2 hours trying to print a page for Amanda. After an hour with tech support it was found out that the free trial ink I was sent was the issue. I cancelled the program but it required the cartridge to be removed!! WTH?? Crazy but eventually she extended the plan to use the new cartridge up. I printed the page in seconds.

Amanda, Aislyn and Clover were out to pick it up. We took the dogs for a walk and of course J too. It was horribly windy. We had a visit inside before they headed home. Kaylin text Renn is 6.75 pounds :)

Time to get to actual paint work. I put a coat of paint on the washed window frame. A second coat went on after I spent an hour and 1/2 working on 2 nightstands and a long dresser. Hardware was removed, vacuumed and scrubbed up. Some areas needed wood filler of course.

rain damaged frame, yuck

Luckily I had leftovers for supper. Potato salad was lunch! A bit of rain sprinkled down. Time to get computer work done. I had to delete many old photo folders as my computer is filled to the max. And it seems I have an influx of baby photos to load. The blog required many more photos and videos edited too. Slowly I am catching up. I also finished 3 tutorials up. I shut it down before 11. Time for some YouTube in bed as the wind howls. There even was a bit of rain.

Tuesday I awoke early yet again at 5:15. I tried to sleep till Har wanted out at 6:30. I stayed awake and perused IG. It started to drizzle which turned into rain. Coffee was needed as house chilly. A bit of marketing then time to get to work on the bedroom suite. This is my biggest project yet. Two nightstands, a long dresser and a chest of drawers. The nightstands and long dresser were primed. I went out in the drizzle to feed cats. I checked the gauge and we have 1/2"!!

Quick potato salad bowl and a BT sandwich for lunch. The chest of drawers took 1 1/2 hours alone to remove hardware, scrub up and prime first coat. Then everything got a second primer coat. Now it has to dry overnight.

Time to get marketing done. Thank goodness for leftovers from Sunday. I had steak and roasted veggies for supper. I took H out for a short walk, tossed horses hay, buried compost in the garden, drilled holes in my planter bottoms as they are soggy. I checked the gauge to see 1/10 th more but it is still drizzling. Catching up the blog was my evening task and I finally got it all caught up. I as off to bed at 10 to watch Netflix.

Wednesday I was awake after 7. It was a beautiful sunny day. Coffee and bit of marketing to start. Then I hit the garage to get busy on this big project.  It took 3 hours to paint all the pieces 1 coat of white paint. In between pieces I stopped for a quick sandwich for lunch. I had a 2 hour phone class. And 2 parcel deliveries including Harley's raw food. And a quick visit with Sharon back from her lessons. I checked the rain gauge - total yesterday/night 7/10th.

These are the 2 buds I put in the fridge a few days ago, they don't look great.

S called at 4 saying he was on his way home. I  finished up touchups and tweaks then came in at 5. Blog catch up next. S pulled in at 6:30. I had his supper ready and headed out the door to visit Dad. S did phone in to rodeo meeting. It started to rain as I neared town. Dad was pushing himself around when I arrived. It is so weird to not wear masks in there anymore. I gave dad a pedicure and changed him into soft not compression socks for the night. It was still raining when I was leaving. The sun was out too and a double rainbow. As I drove home it let up down the highway but was coming down nice at the ranch. When it let up we had a summer solstice hot tub soak. Sad to think it is all shorter days going forward from here.

Father's Day, birthdays and anniversary celebrated

Fathers Day Sunday! We had a hot tub after coffee in bed. There was no wind and the water was super clean after the change. Last minute tidy and food prep was done. S loaded his skid steer in the dump trailer to take to the Valley. Sorting recyclables and washing the wall and window frame that got rained in many times was checked off the to do list.

Look at Harley's mud flaps over her paws :)

Papa, Grama and Candace arrived. Soon after Kaylin, Nathan and baby Renn. Renn started her rounds to all the awaiting arms. Shaina and her friend Joel followed by Britt and Cooper rounded out the first group of guests. Visiting and baby snuggles were the focus. Shaina Joel and I fit in a sequence game.

Papa has a super cute new t-shirt

Like Lexi & Beanz, Harley was super curious about Renn.

Supper prep got underway. A bit of rain came down. S checked the gauge and found 3.5/10ths. The Paetz family arrived to get there snuggles in too as we ate. They had cake and set off for home to cook their steaks.

All the "fathers"

Aislyn loves the dogs almost as much at her twin Britt

Renn seems to notice the big black dog

Harley was very pleased to get to check her out again.

All but B headed for home by 8. She stayed and learned to play phase 10 with S and I. She and Coop headed home after 10 as it started to rain.

33 years married & TJ is 40

The wind was howling when I woke and blew all day. It made for a great day to catch up on things. Marketing, blog posts, tutorials and accounting. I met a paint product buyer at the gate after lunch while still in my pj's :) Our spare 2 concert tickets were spoken for. Harley got a well deserved bath after her muddy vacation to Britt's.

The gift parcel in the mail had a little something for Sheldon and I from Heather and Ron, THANK YOU! There was also a gift for Renn that would be opened on the weekend and was an adorable dress, shoes and sun suit/hat set. The dress would be perfect for a wedding, know of anyone engaged?? :)

S sent these photos of the bison going into the repaired fence field. His Dad helped him yesterday repair miles of barbed wire. He stayed at Mom's Tuesday and last night. Today he finished up the last repairs ready for them to go in.

watch the bison live video

Once the hurricane winds died to a dull roar, I tossed the horses hay and took H for a walk. I checked the rain guage - 1" 6/10ths!!!! I also picked some peonies. I only have 1 out of 7 plants that will bloom this year so best enjoy. I organized the deep freeze. S was home at 6:30. He brought 1/2 a bison. In the evening we watched Halftime. I enjoyed J Lo's super bowl show but missed allot of her message it seems :)

June 16th Coffee in bed. Today marks 33 years married. It is also Travis's 40th birthday!! Happy cake day TJ!

before digital when one shot was all you took!

I spent most of the day weeding the back flower bed. S started the hot tub water change with a 24 hour cleaning product. S ran to town to buy a town water card. Once there he found there was a card fee on top of the water costs. Change of plans. I ran over to get my lashes filled.

We had salad, bison tenderloin, lobster and roasted potatoes for supper. All the movies in theater are kids, marvel comic and one car movie; pass. It was off to town for dessert. First the car was filled with fuel. Seeing we were so close we stopped at Origins. We still have a gift card from the Moore's. Thanks guys. Banana split blizzard was shared as we drove home. We rounded out our anniversary starting a series called Fubar.

Saturday is here, mid June already. Time to get the house cleaned, laundry, plant watering, garden weeding. S worked on draining and cleaning the hot tub. He got a tote of water from Stouts. A quick trip to town to grab some groceries and pick up an ice cream cake for tomorrow's party. Dad was sleeping soundly after a good lunch. Back home S was filling the tub. Today was Renn's due date. So glad to have had 2 weeks with her already! XOXO

what a shame my topiary lilac died, and the after pic.

I picked a few more peonies. I also stuck 2 buds in the fridge to bring in later.

I sawed down the dead lilac tree and Brittany's cherry tree.  The front flower beds were weeded and garden area started hand weeding the gravel areas. Poop scooping was up next. S ran back for a 1/3 tote. His friend Jerry (the fellow who rescued our keys) followed him back in after 4. They had a beer and took off in the Tesla. My housework continued. In between I loaded videos and photos on the blog posts. It wasn't until 7:30 when I finally made a salad. Jerry was off before 8. S cooked a couple hot dogs for a late supper.
