Daisy's itch has her rubbing hair right off!!

Cooper was whimpering at 7 so I went and got him, took him for water, got his bed blanket and moved him in with us. I fell back asleep until 9 when a rain storm rolled in with thunder and everything but the rain was ice pellets, it was crazy!  I got up and worked on blog posts with my first cappuccino since back, yum. Prince charming slept till 10:30 then made his own pot of coffee. After a few coffees and toast he headed out to finish light work on front deck.

who are these characters? can you tell?

sleepy fellows

ice pellet rain

I kept working on photos and vacation blog writing. Daisy was super itchy yesterday; I messaged Britt she was rubbing on every shelter wall and rail but when I looked out after lunch today I saw her really rubbing the shelter center pole making it actually move. I also could see what looked like bloody patches so scooted out to check and give them their meds.

right side was even worse

B and Cooper arrived as I was taking photos of poor Daisy who had rubbed all her hair off in patches right to the skin and even further in spots. She and I bathed her in betadine in front of the garage, thank goodness for hot water in the garage. Daisy did fabulous in the plus 3 with a biting wind weather. Then it was off to the barn to have water scraped off and a blanket put on. B took her temperature and gave her IV Banamine while I put new shavings and hay in the stall. B got a bucket of water for her too.

Back inside I prepped for Stouts coming over finishing the chili I started and S put canned stuff in after he came in from lights to watch more football. Stouts arrived after 4 to partake in Grey Cup watching and visiting. B caught Roo and took her to work with in arena then trimmed her feet after Dave arrived at 5 to be there to help if needed but she did it all alone.

Once they came in we all ate the chili with toast. Eventually the fellows went down to TV room to watch and us girls visited. Dave and B left at 9 after checking on Daisy, removing her blanket then got Cooper and were off. Boys were back up and visiting until Stouts headed home at 10. I went out and rubbed the lice powder into Daisy's mane, tail and along her back, cleaned up poop and left her for the night. Inside I watched a Shameless episode before lights out.

Back to winter & sales!!

I was awoken at 8:30 to a reply from the vet saying there were no chiro openings for Lola available today. It seems I really was sleeping as S had made coffee and drinking a cup already ;) We both enjoyed a cup before I got up to get laundry going and things prepped. It seems the black tables buyer #1 was a flake messaging he changed his mind but the 2nd messaged right back he too could make it by 10. Sure enough he was here at 10 and had them loaded after his EMT went thru.

S went out to grade the road. A chinook had been blowing all night so it was melting. The stairs and sidewalk were piled with ice but all completely gone in a few hours. As did the snow with temps around PLUS 8 and a warm wind. S was back in to watch the early 11 am Flames game. He made us tuna sandwiches with a side beer while I continued on with answering emails, working on the vacation blogs and doing accounting. I boxed up the teal jewelry box that sold on my Etsy Store ready to go.

After lunch S hauled the outdoor Christmas décor over in the ranger and hung the Christmas lights on the fence.

Shaina and Jacob facetimed just after 1 which is 6 am in Aus as they awaited their plane to Bali. How lucky right?? Britt and Cooper arrived around 2 for a visit then she worked with Roo before heading back to town before 3:30 dropping my parcel off, thanks B. She left Cooper for the night as she is hosting a girls party.

B was back out after 6 to drop off Cooper's supper and get him in for his sleepover. We had ate yummy freezer goodies for supper; cabbage rolls from Mama Pat and carrot cake from Mom, thanks ladies! B even had cake too before she headed back to host her party. S spent the evening catching up on sports while I started season 10 of Shameless. And had fun with Snapchat filters chatting with Kaylin.

Homeward bound

I was awake when Chuck was getting ready for work at 5 but tried to go back to sleep. I got up at 6 to have coffee and visit with Deb and the dogs. She got ready for school and was off around 7:30. I rousted Sheldon after my shower and we loaded all our bags and set out after he had a coffee and bagel at 9. We made a quick stop to pick up Kaylin some Oreo coffee creamer she requested then set off to the airport to return the car after it was filled with gas.

A bus took us to the terminal then it was thru all the hoops of baggage, security then waiting for the flight. I grabbed us a double whopper meal to share which was quite tasty. The plane was late taking off after 1 but we arrived in Vancouver by 4. I watched Stuber on the way then started Bohemian Rhapsody. S watched Stuber too on his iPad. At Van couver we whipped thru customs then took a bus to domestic terminal to wait for the Calgary flight at 5. S grabbed us a Tim's chai and donut for our supper ;)
Vegas below but was trying to get Mt Charleston but the clouds covered it

Calgary has a new art display

The Calgary flight was super quick as always. I finished Bohemian Rhapsody exactly as we landed at 7:30 MST. S ran for the car while I waited for the suitcase and we set off in plus 7 melting snow temps stopping by Superstore to grab nasal solution and a few groceries including peppermint ice cream knowing this is the season and the store that sells it.

We pulled into the ranch at 9 pm to an excited Lola greeting us. We hauled in our bags only to find S lost his credit card on the way from airport. I caught up on loads of emails having missed an Etsy sale on Monday!! Yeah. The black end tables had interest from 2 parties in the last few days both saying they can pick up tomorrow morning. We will see but I got the first one directions. I had 2 emails wanting pieces quoted which is exciting and plans for the drop off still on Sunday of previous custom. I watered all my thirsty plants. S caught up on emails and internet. We changed to warm winter sheets and called it a night. But of course I had to watch a few Netflix episodes before lights out ;)

Trip statistics;

drove in 2 lovely convertibles over 1500 miles!!
thru 3 states including checking off the Grand Canyon on the bucket list
1 lost key fob
1 lost bikini bottom
1 credit card

but all and all it was a great get away!

There is snow in Vegas, who knew?

I got up early with Deb to visit and have a coffee or two while S slept in again. He then joined us around 9. Chuck came home from work not long after changed, we had a cold brew then loaded up to go meet Stephanie for lunch at la Salsa on the strip for brunch at 11.

It was a good visit then she was off to school and we toured the Miracle Mile Shops mall then headed back to the house.

suckered in to try magic creme

The weather was rainy off and on all day so next plan was change into warm pants then jump in the truck and head up Mount Charleston leaving the house after 2. It was a neat drive up with a climb to 7300 feet hitting snow part way up. Seems like we never left home. We enjoyed a fancy coffee drink to warm us then a cool drink.

backseat passengers

As we made our way back down we stopped at another lodge for a drink then back home.

Can you see what Deb is writing? Look below

A left over supper was had with some yummy homemade mint chocolate Rice Krispies then it was time to jump into the convertible and head back out with first stop Ethel M Chocolate Factory to see their Christmas light display in the cactus gardens. It was really pretty and the chocolate sample tasty.

back seat photographers with beverages

Then onto the strip with the top down to see the lights at night.

seems we both took a few shots of the Eiffel Tower LOL

Back to the house we had a visit before heading off to bed after another day of adventures and laughs.
