hot stretch ahead

Today was another doozy hot day hitting 28. To start the day S and I got water going on the trees and plants. He was then off to mow the approach and lane while I painted the mirror I got a few weeks back. When dry it was waxed too.

oh oh.. this toy was new yesterday, she rebought it after Lexi shred it the first time, must be the toy quality ;)

I swept the horse trailer clean and laid cardboard before S backed it up to the house to prepare to load for my market. I spent the rest of the day tagging and pricing pieces and getting an inventory sheet set up and boxing the smalls. He was off to the airport to head north before 2.

I finished up and changed into a summer dress to meet Shaina for our Mother's Day lunch gift from her at 4. We sat on the patio but it was warm for sure. I am not complaining as I know the cold will be back in short order. We wrapped it up at 5:30 and she was off to boot camp and more personal training. THANKS for supper Dude! XOXO I cruised thru Walmart to get candy for my booth and a few other things then grabbed an ice cap, the mail and headed home.

happy mail, post cards from Shannon Ford Art and stencil from the UK

this rascal goes straight here if the stair gate is open ;)

Back to my market prep until B got home around 7:30. She and I went out and rode at 8 but it was pretty quick as the mosquitos were now coming out even though it was still 25 out. We fed and blanketed and retreated inside. I had to set up a fan for Lola once I got her in the garage after 10 as it was 28 in there ;(

trail ride

Another beauty day off for us all. It was a slow start with B not rising till 10:30 after getting home at 2:30 last night. I got a few trees water going and hand watered planters while S worked on pounding in more tree fertilizer spikes.

Our plan was to go trail ride today but I found us a closer new location to try. I packed up some drinks and snacks then Britt and I caught Bird, Switch and Pepper and got them ready to load. Once tack was loaded and them we headed to the river to ride. What a BEAUTIFUL ride we had.

It was less then 2 hours but we sure got a good feel as to future rides and river swimming once the high waters go down. We were back home by 2:30 hosed them, fed them and headed inside for a shower. It is a hot one at 27 out.

S and I were off to town after 5, he dropped me at my lash appointment and ran errands picking me back up after 7. We tried the new steak house in town and were very impressed.

Back home we found the A/C was not cooling but heating. This issue happened last year and it needed a new thermostat, luckily S got it sorted and working again but we may have to replace again if it doesn’t keep up. B was gone to baseball but home by 10 to prep for back to work tomorrow ;)

Victoria Day

It was a sleep in day for us all, I did not wake till after 8:30, yeah! Time to get to work on the blog with all my photos to get sorted

Prince ran to town on errands at noon with Britt not to far behind him. She returned first buying us the new spicy guacamole burgers for a late lunch, THANKS B!! XOXO

Watering plants and seeing potatos and garlic popping thru is fun. S and I started to lay out the soaker hose in the front beds too but need more parts.

A lady messaged about the green dresser and in short order was out to see it. In short order it was loaded up and she was on her way. Good couple days for dresser sales.

Now to update all the sale sites and such.

After 3, B and I caught Pepper, Roo, Bird & Switch and took them to Murray for chiropractor treatments. S stayed home to rest his foot but he did prep supper and once we were back, unloaded, fed herbs and reblanketed the horses, he got it all going. Always a treat to have a chef in the house.

After supper he was off to TV room for hockey, Britt headed to the city at 7 for a date and I worked on updating my CM photos, tracking sheets and wrote a blog post for the spice rack. I did trek out to hand water my planters out front but the mozzies were yucky chasing me back in. Then I made my draw for the $100 stencils, I chose a local girl who has purchased from me in the past.

most beautiful Sunday - loads of photos

Early bird Asher was up before 7 checking the pantry for goodies. I set him up with the iPad to watch an episode of the Legends show they started last night till the other 2 woke at 8. Fresh hot waffles were served for breakfast with prince S joining in.

Time to venture out in the sun for a hike and to see their horses.

this young lady is getting very brave in all her animal training ;)

  Cooper

Back inside at 10:30, Archer went down for a nap, Asher hit the TV room to watch more superhero shows and Ada and I went out to watch Britt who was riding then gave her a spin or two.

and yes B is training Cooper to run with them

S went out to put up some last missing pieces of plywood in the barn. I made us a late lunch and little master Archer slept for 4 hours!! not getting up till almost 2:30. Amanda and Aislyn arrived a bit after as did a lady who set a time to come see the rustic dresser. She checked out more things and we had the dresser loaded and she was off by 4 followed soon after by the Paetz crew.

Seeing it was such a beauty day we decided to try Cooper's cage in the truck box and take the dogs to the river. Britt's car was there from last night so worked great to pick it up too. We first walked along the river on the weir side which was hot so we found a spot to park in the campsite.

What a beautiful walk, the dogs and people enjoyed it. Sheldon however rolled his ankle at the first walk so hobbled along the second route.

Lola LOVED the water

We were back home after 7 for a late delicious steak supper. I put the last hoof treatment on Switch, yikes the mosquitos are now out in full force.  A nice soak in a tub of hot water was enjoyed by me but the heat seemed to cause the rolled ankle to become sore so it was raised with ice in bed. B bathed Cooper too after his big adventure, Lola could sure use one.
