Bit more snow

I woke at 7:30 and heard Shaina up rustling in the kitchen at 7:45 before her meeting. I played some brain games before feeding H and making coffee. Marketing was up next, I wrote a Hometalk post for the green accent table. S had another sleep in day till 9:30 then up to get a coffee. He did scoot out quick to let cats out in the sunshine and it is already 0 and it was -3 when I got up.

Shaina was off to town around 10:30 again, S got dressed and headed out in the now plus 2 to look for Harley's missing jolly balls on the ranger. No luck finding it though. I worked on prepping the 2 ruler boards. Man the wood is crappy with warps, cups cracks and such. I picked the 2 best, filled cracks and sanded. I put the stain on the backside.

Shaina arrived after 12 as we were having lunch from town to join us to eat. She was then off to her office, S to the couch to rest and I went to flip boards and stain other side. The chinook winds started to blow hard and the temp went from 5 down to 3 as it clouded over. Britt arrived to feed horses and was off in short order once done. Leaving the boards to dry I came in and made kombucha and bottled a berry batch.

I got to work on marketing as well as writing a tutorial for the striped magnolia lazy susan. Sheldon woke from his nap and took H for a ride to get the mail. The weather really clouded over and with the wind it dropped to zero making the beauty starting day turn to crap. Snow started to come down at 4 making it even worse :( It lasted over an hour. S and I gave Harley a bath in the garage after she ate.

We ate leftovers then Shaina was off to shower, S to the couch me to put another coat of stain the ruler fronts finishing as Jacob arrived after 6:30. We visited with him till Shaina had her hair dry then he showered and they were off to town to get a sno-joe. Back in short order they were off to visit while S had moved to TV room after a soak in the tub. I crawled into bed after marketing to start a new series called Victoria which I ended up watching 3 episodes before lights out. Jacob was off to the city at 10.

Christmas shopping covid style

The day started cool at -15 as I was feeding H then on to marketing and list making for the city run. Shaina was off to town for Sharon's workout before 10. We were off to the city before 10:30 having let cats out and left Harley in Shaina's care once she gets back.

The day warmed up reaching melting and making for slushy roads. S dropped me at the mall and was off to meet a service company downtown for lunch. I have not shopped in a mall for years and wearing a mask and following covid protocol was most interesting. After successfully getting a few heavy gifts I tried to have a frozen yogurt for lunch but ended up having to stand at a spot as all tables full after showing all vaccine info. More shopping with S meeting me around 1:30 to drop packages in car then we both looped around the mall separately for a short bit.

Next it was off to home depot to find straight wood with no luck. Costco was up next with a drive thru Tins first where I tried the new caramel latte which was ok but only at the $2 special intro price. Costco was fairly busy but we got a cart full in not very long. I even grabbed a fun grinch tree. We were loaded up and on our way at 4 swinging south to try that Home Depot for wood seeing I have 2 rulers on order. The boards out were cracked but they had a few up high and could get down once the lift driver arrived for his shift. This was a bit of a wait and once he arrived and got the lift down they found it was the wrong one so had to try again. Our wait paid off though as the worker gave me a HUGE discount.

We were on our way home now having gotten my 10,000 steps in already. Shaina was making the chicken tetrazzini HF meal when we arrived. We got all unloaded while she finished it then we enjoyed it together. Funny thing was this weeks sent the meals not as 4 ppl per bag but rather 2 two ppl bags. The whipping cream required in the recipe was 1/2 cup in small print but instructions said add cream. When she was totally in the calories she found the error of putting in 2 CUPS!! LOL It was good and very much appreciated after our busy day and me only having had 2 cups of coffee, the frozen yogurt and latte during the day so far.

I washed up pots while she headed off to work and S to the Flames game then I caught up marketing before heading to bed to watch some YouTube and Netflix.

Dried oranges epic fail

After feeding H her breakfast I did a bit of marketing then got our bed stripped and in the laundry (H likes to rest her mud flaps on my white sheets when waking me) S made coffee and perused the internet in big brown. I sliced up oranges to make the trending dried orange decorations and put in a low oven.

A light dusting of snow started to come down for a bit.

And wouldn't you know it I had a tear on a nail which required it cut super short and now the gel polish is peeling, UGH I was doing so well.

Shaina was up and off to town to work out, to an appointment and grab groceries. I cleaned out my pantry then all the top drawers seeing the vacuum was out. I also rolled out pizza dough and layered on ingredients. The orange slices were removed for it to cook then put back in with the temp set back to low. 

The Hello Fresh box arrived supersized this week!!

B and Coop arrived just before 1 as the pizza was cooling and pulling into the garage to get some car stuff checked. This is her week off. S came in to eat, Shaina was back soon after with her groceries, teas for us THANKS, she ate some pizza and off to work. I smelt burning and checked the slices to find I should have let the excess heat out more before putting them in, BOO!!!

B fed horses then back to car trouble shooting. She got it all sorted after a few in and outs in the garage with her car then she and Cooper were off for home around 3. My cleaning continued with more cupboards and making my freshly laundered bed. S took a break from his internet surfing in big brown to run to the mail which turned out to be a waste of gas LOL.

For supper I cooked up the first HF meal; saucy porkchops. They were good as usual. Once all was cleaned up S and I caught up on the 2 Yellowstone episodes while S was off to her suite.

Both dogs slept till 9, yeah! They were fed and coffee made and I did not marketing. S started a fire for the -14 day! I put a roast in the slow cooker for supper. Snow started to fall and continued most of the day.

Britt text at 11 she passed her test!! She is now the second person in Canada to have this specialty in equine nursing. She was out to join us for a fresh pot of coffee not long after. It is nice to see a weight lifted off her shoulders and the pride she has in doing so well. 

We played canasta in front of the fire. A short break for lunch then back to finish the game. B then went to feed the horses while S had a nap before moving to the TV room for football. Once back in B went to her room to relax and watch movie and I worked on the blog. I prepped veggies to roast and popped them in them oven. B and I played cards until they were ready with Shaina arriving back home as S was carving the roast at 5:30. Shaina napped in front of the fire while we ate then B and Coop were off for home after she put kitties away, Shaina awoke to eat and visit a bit and S relaxed on the couch before heading to the TV to prep for the Flames game. I finished computer work then off to bed to peruse Netflix.
