Posts pounded

It is Friday already, where has the week gone. Coffee and internet then onto marketing and computer work. I spent the morning working on photos and tutorials after going out to let horses back into the south 2 paddocks and water my garden. I worked allot on updating my Etsy store for this long weekend hoping for some sales.

After a lunch of yet more leftovers S headed to pick up the post hole pounder at 1:30. Once back I helped him pound random posts then he took it back at 4:30. It was a scorcher at 27 degrees out. While he took it back I wrote a Hometalk post for the vanity.

It even heated up more with the rest of the day spent inside till evening when it was a repeat of Britt and the animals arriving to feed after I had gotten Switch in for her herbs just before. I filled the far water trough. S changed out the bucket on the skid steer for Matt who popped over and borrowed it for the weekend. Then he drilled the gate holes now that the temperatures were more favorable.

Skeet shooting afternoon

Another usual start to the day. Once we got things going we ran to town to pick up a desk, drop off the sold tray at Paetz's so Craig could kindly take to Mom's for the customer to pickup, refill the Origin's growler, get fuel and booze as well as Opa for lunch then back to the ranch after 12:30.

We prepped veggies and such for supper and tidied the house to look pretty again. S took out a bale mid field and set up chairs for us ladies. Roxy and Glen arrived after 2 and the merriment began. It was a scorcher out in the high 20's. It did not slow the fellows down in their target shooting. However a odd neighbor did driving along the fence line honking his horn. The fellows stopped for a refreshment and eventually he was off only to return again once they were back to the skeets.

this is a shotgun ;)

It wasn't long after and I had a call on my cell from the RCMP at our gate. It seems the neighbor reported rifle shots at his cows. UHHH pardon?? East of us is a hay field then a canal then perhaps cattle down from that and the gunfire was from shotguns. The officer said that it was all good but he had to check out the report and was soon on his way.

The fellows finished their stack of clay pigeons and 300 rounds of shot in total. Time to get the steak dinner underway. It was most delicious as always. Roxy brought puffed wheat squares for dessert which we enjoyed on the deck in the golden hour. Britt and her troupe arrived to feed her horses. I popped out and caught Switch and mixed up her herbs and traded a B a puffed wheat square to watch her finish and put back in the paddock. She popped up for a quick hello and was off for home. Glen and Roxy were off just before 9. What a great day catching up with these 2.

Huge windstorm

A HUGE windstorm blew in at 7 with S heading out to tuck the chairs away that were blowing around the deck. Luckily we fell back asleep till almost 9. I was up fixing a non working FB post and got my coffee at the computer with his back in bed. The morning stayed horribly windy so I started laundry and worked on tutorials. S relaxed in big brown but did help me haul in the round coffee table so I could stage it.

Once Shaina was up she and I put up blinds in her room. Yes they are the paper ones and have taken this long to do so. She wiped the frame clean and glass inside after it was left open a few years back and had dirt and water damage to the sill. She made a cappuccino and got onto her marketing work.

Left over salads were for lunch. Clearly I made way to much and too many and found that no name ichiban does not have good seasoning powder ;( I added clear coat to the tray that sold too.

Shaina was off to train Sharon at 1:30. Big S decided to get a task going now the sun had come out and went out and pressure washed the tractor. The sun was now out but the ugly wind kept blowing. I wrote a tutorial for the pink dresser and posted etc.

Shaina was back in an hour and back to her computer work. She and I headed out before 4 to move bales to the mez. The elevator was down but on the wrong side so we pulled it up and over and got busy. 100 bales came up but we ran into another issue. Trying to be tidy and keep the hay out of the sand arena we had used a tarp under the bales. This caused mold on the bottom row ;( 20 bales were damaged.

the process above left and the damaged ones left at the end above right and 100 stacked up top below

S posted them for sale for goats and observed while Shaina and I trimmed KD and Switch. We finished up around 6:30. Back inside for a cold drink I cooked fresh zucchini while S cooked a few smokies to go with all the leftover salads and veggies. The wind finally let up now.

Britt stopped quick to feed her horses and off. Shaina followed her soon after having a sleep over with her tonight. Shower and Netflix for me watching a Good Girls then I started a new series called (Un)Well. S showered and hit the sheets after enjoying a bowl of fruit and yogurt I made us.

Kuhn Family barbque

We enjoyed our coffee before 8. Kaylin called on route to the vets to drop Lexi off for her dental surgery and kindly picked up my first pumpkin spice latte of the season. THANK YOU!! She was hampered at the gate getting in with it not working. S had to get dressed and go let her in and trouble shoot the issue. She and I visited over our Starbucks.

S then headed over to Stouts to finish his dirt reclamation project. Around 11:30 a customer dropped off an end table to be refinished to match the coffee table she bought from me last month. A short visit and she was off. I quickly wrote a Hometalk post for the demi lune table.

I was making tuna sandwiches for lunch when S stopped to join us. He headed back over at 1 to finish up. K tidied out her car then off to her room for awhile. I worked on tutorials. Grama, Papa and Candace arrived at 1:30. S was home soon after and our afternoon of visiting commenced.

He ain't hefe, he's my brother beer

Lexi all dopey after her big day

Brittany and the kids arrived next then Shaina. We enjoyed drinks and snacks on the deck with fabulous weather. Lexi was picked up after 4 as we were getting the burgers and food ready. B had appointments but was back to eat and she did fill the new tub with minerals S hung in the shelter after she fed Bird then off to condo meeting.

The Hatter's loaded up and were off after 7. I posted a tray for sale and within an hour it was sold, yeah! I caught Switch and fed her herbs. Kaylin sugared my armpits quickly before she and Lexi were off to the city still dopey from her day of surgery. It was a fairly early night to bed with the sun setting sooner. S was asleep in short order by 9 while I watched Good Girls till after 10 and not sure what Shaina was watching but could hear her thumping around her room LOL
