Double Etsy sale day Sunday

4:44 was my first wakeup, do you ever wake to a number series? A few more wakeups and checks as Lola was on high alert. I feel like the coyotes are trying to find the frozen one in the shed. Back to sleep I woke for the day at 8:30 and jumped into my coveralls and got things done. The snow had arrived overnight and lots of it. I love a fresh layer of snow to look clean and sparkly.

Daisy was first out after her meds and blanket put back on and hay taken to her eat paddock. Then it was Bandits turn for meds and hay then the rest of the frost covered herd. While packing a huge tub of hay Roo did a quick turn and bowled me over sending the hay into its own piles LOL B and I are now even after she was bowled over by Switch when Sheldon shot a rifle near them.

I also awoke to an Etsy sale; the white silverware chest!! Now to bundle it up and get a shipping label and get it ready to head to Illinois after my table customer popped out to see the table test center. She did feel the grey wash was too cool but loved the technique. She choose a tan color instead to go with cream and light grey and was on her way.

Once I had the parcel done up I got busy on her table tops dry brushing the tan then giving them all the tan glaze wash. This takes allot of time as glaze marks to whatever you drag or leave but eventually it was done. The light grey and warm white were dry brushed over. I was just finishing up after 2 when Cooper and Britt arrived.

She caught Bird and fed her then swapped for Bandit. She and I finished his feet while she also caught Roo and we did hers too after she worked with her in the arena for a bit. Then Daisy was brought in for a bandage change, her blanket removed and a new neck slinky added hoping it would keep her warm when joining the herd hopefully tomorrow as well as helping to prevent more hair loss. The slinky however may be ruined in her efforts to try.

B and Coop then loaded up and were off to town taking a bag of icing sugar to really make cookies this time. As well she took my Etsy parcel and dropped it off to make its way south. THANKS! I got back to work on the table tops swapping the tape to the other side and doing the bread board sides.

As I was doing so the cash register chime went off with another Etsy sale: the antique divided crate. When I finished up the glaze I came in to eat the chicken casserole day #3 and get a box sorted for the crate. I had to cut down a box but got it boxed up and the label printed and affixed. THANK YOU Etsy customers!

When I finished up the edge painting I pulled off the tape and DAM! Wouldn't you know it, one of the tops that had a smooth finish had areas that lifted from the tape. This required repainting!! 

I finished it up in time to go move Daisy back into the stall for what I hope is her last night there, She got her meds and stall fluff then Bandit who I had to hike out and find in the dark near the shelter. He did come back for his hay I tossed. Inside it was time to call it a night and crawl into bed and finish season 4 of Outlander shutting it all down before 1 am. It was a double good single bad kinda day :)

Another 8 am wake up with no sun today. They are calling for snow after lunch so I donned my coveralls over house coat and got at med distribution. I did Bandit first then Pepper then on to Daisy. I put a thin blanket on her as it is blustery -7 and being proactive to the storm put her in with bandit so they had shelter. I hauled out half a bale and set piles in sheltered areas and in view of the herd to give options. Of course Daisy was more interested in bossing Bandit around but did settle down to eat.

At 9 I came in for cappuccinos and blog writing. I got a call a parcel was at Purolator which I had requested not to be used on my Amazon account due to their non rural delivery policy. When speaking with a supervisor I found that my previous 4 other calls where I was reassured purolater was deprioritized were indeed not completed and the one that was was incorrect!! He did manage to get the proper paper work done and gave me a $50 credit for future purchases. Better then nothing I guess after all the time spent on the phone with them. As I was finishing up I looked out to see Daisy scratching her neck on the shelter walls!!

Back on went the coveralls having changed into day clothes and marching her to the paddock east of the house. UGH!!! Then I downloaded Sheldon's photos and converted to proper format before watermarking/resizing along with Debby's to go along with mine to get another day of vacation posts up.

I went out to the garage to work on the dining table with the glaze layer but the customer thinks is too cool with the warm flooring so plans may be scratched and a do over happening. I did add the dry brushed white to see if warmed up any but not really. She is going to come for a look in person tomorrow morning at 10.

I then painted the chair another coat of white milk paint but it still looks like crap. I was finishing it up when Britt and Cooper arrived after 2. She and I went out and trimmed 4 horses; Switch and Pepper then KD and Bird. That was good for today ;)

She and Cooper loaded up and headed home at 4 to make cookies.. yummy! I jumped into the shower then got back to blog writing doing another Hometalk post, this one for the green jewelry box. It seems the snow never did make it this far. I put Daisy back in the stall with her feed/meds/water and removed her blanket. Bandit got his throat spray and some hay then it was time for me to crawl into bed with a hot bed bag on my back to be sure the muscles don't seize up and watch more Outlander.

It was another -9 but sunny start to the day, starting to feel like ground hogs day as I head out and give meds however Daisy's are really easy now with her pills only. She eats them lickety split before I put her out in the round pen for the day. I came back to the garage to draw up Bandit's throat meds then back to remove the gloves as it is a cancer causing med. Then it was back out to feed him and Daisy hay and give Pep his pill. Lola got her food and I was back inside for my morning cappuccinos.

After some marketing I got to work in the garage putting a second coat of light grey on the tables. Shaina required some more Bell phone time but in the end we FINALLY got her account straight and good to go. Guacamole and chips with a beer were my lunch then I was back out in the garage starting a test piece on the table center but will leave to dry overnight before glaze layer. The ruler was stenciled then clear coated once sanded and dry on both sides.

Today was the first day in a while that I did not have to do mid day injections. Perhaps we are on the mend. Milk paint was mixed up and the sanded black chair got its first coat. I even played Christmas carols for the first time while painting today.

I made a chicken pasta casserole for supper which turned out really tasty.

My luck of the last few days was soon shifted back to bad when after eating I headed out to put another coat of clear on the growth ruler and used my milk paint brush ;( I tried wiping it off quick but it only gave a white washed look which I finally decided to go with. But if you get a bowl of lemons make lemonade they say! A worn white washed wood look is lovely, just not what the customer ordered. HOWEVER when I sent her the video she was totally pleased with it. Perhaps there is a reason for the change of plans ;)

I was back inside working on blog posts when Britt and Cooper arrived to enjoy the casserole at 7:30 after long day at work. After she ate we headed out to the horses. She brought in Daisy and changed her bandaged while I topped up the stall bedding, water, hay and her beet pulp meds. She then gave Bandit his meds while I took salt out to the closest to barn paddock, closed the between gates to farthest away and opened the gate from behind barn paddock to give Bandit a shelter with salt as they say snow is coming tomorrow.

B and Cooper headed back to town after 8:30. I got back to blog writing and Instagram giveaway entering. You cannot win if you don't enter folks!

Table top work underway

Even though I stayed up late again watching Netflix I was awake at 7. I checked and the herd was checking out the new guy. I got dressed this time and headed out after 8 to give Bandit his throat "spray" and Daisy her new green allergy pills and prascend and put her in the round pen with her blanket as it is brisk -9!

Then it was time to get back to work on the dining table tops. Trying to get these doodles and carvings out is a struggle. This has been hand sanded time for the big gun or shall I say sander.

At 2:30 I headed out to give Daisy her last needle of steroids, fingers crossed she does not need to go back on them. Pep got his pill too.

Back inside the tops were spray shellacked to seal the wood back up and keep the paint finish looking the same. As well I hauled out a growth ruler board, sanded it up and applied two coats of stain during the day for the custom ordered one.

Bandit is always sad when the herd goes to eat their hay bale and pines in the corner. Seems he is not interested in Daisy being near in the round pen. I went and put her in the stall after this pretty picture and spent time sweeping up. I like a tidy barn and clean house!

For supper I cooked up some spaghetti then worked on updating the blog and accounting. My days seem to be loaded with things. Oh did I mention today I have spent about 11/2 hours on the phone with Bell trying to get account sorted for Shaina's phone, luckily I can do things while listening to them.

After supper I was back in the garage putting the first coat of grey paint on all the table top pieces. Horse meds were dispersed at 8:30 then I called it a night making a smoothie and crawling into bed to watch more Outlander episodes.
