Bandit returns to the ranch

Today was a bit brisker with -2 when I gave Daisy her meds and put her outside in the round pen. A huge wind rolled thru at 9:30, yikes but at least sun is out. It continued for most of the day.

my violet is blooming GGK :)

I had signed up for a new Hometalk blogger program and had an hour online meeting about it. While I listened I wrote another Hometalk post for the red stool. I then got busy cleaning house and setting up the Christmas tree from the front door... by set up I mean 5 minutes and boom it was up and box back outside. No mice seemed to be in the box now ;)

Daisy was given her mid day steroid injection. Late afternoon I headed out to work on more sanding of the black painted wooden chair. Note to self, don't buy sloppy painted furniture, it is too much work to revive!!

this was yesterday's progress, below look at the bottom, oh my and you cant see all the drips either ;(

I had been waiting for confirmation that I could haul Daisy over to Moore's for a bath when Bandit was ready for pick up. B messaged that at the end of work today would work so just before 4 I went out and loaded Daisy up along with Bird's zebra cooler, a towel and a water bottle for the road. I was off to town by 4:11 and as I got closer it started to snow.

above turning onto #1 and below increased snow turning on Klaiber trail

Seeing she would be late I ran by her condo, let Cooper out for a pee then loaded him up in the truck and off we went.

The snow let up outside town but the highways were very icy in spots. After a brief wobble I slowed right down but managed to beat Britt and Dr Jordan to the clinic as they were held up in traffic coming from Millarville. I was there by 5:30 so took Cooper for a quick walk before they arrived. Shaina and Jacob were not far behind and after biopsy stitches were removed by B and the leg bandage and she was given a much improved thumbs up from Dr Jordan the deep cleaning spa began.

take your dog to work day :)

 Daisy says enough guys

Shaina and Jacob got her good and clean, squeegeed off, fluffed dry and the cooler blanket put on. Good job you two!! B caught Bandit and loaded him up followed by Daisy. We all were on the road heading in our home directions after 7. B made a detour thru Tim's to grab me a chai tea and met me on a pull out before Stoney, THANKS B!

Then it was the slow drive home keeping it safely between the ditches arriving at 8:30. B was there ahead of me and had put one bale out in the barn paddock for sir Bandit. She gave his throat solution then both went into the barn. We trimmed his awfully long feet and tucked Daisy into her stall. B swapped her blanket for a thicker turnout and I added shaving, hay, fresh water and food for her and gave her her last oral antihistamine dose. Bandit went out to his new accommodations then we went over the new meds then B and Cooper were off for home before 10.

Thank goodness I cooked an extra chicken fillet last night and had left over veggies from awhile back to provide me sustenance but the bonus was cheesecake I found in the freezer!! Once I was all cozy in my bed I caught up on a few Outlander episodes on Netflix.

Sanding outside in plus 7

After giving Daisy her pill and oral meds I set her free for the day again in the round pen with hay. It is a balmy PLUS 2. Then I cleaned out her stall for later. It is good to see things moving thru her system finally. Back in the house I put the last spray painted fixture tutorial live then answered messages for inquiries. I had the vanity stool featured today on Hometalk so wrote 1 new post for blue magazine rack while drinking my cappuccino

Then it was time to get busy on the cabinet and get it dark waxed. It looks great and the customer loves it so now just need to get it safely to their home and the cash in the bank.

Britt dropped off Cooper for a play day at 2:30 just as I was giving Daisy her Dex needle and oral antihistamine. She seems to be a bit less itchy but did rub a spot on her face somehow today. B was then off back to town to clean her house she says. While I was out I mixed up salt/minerals and filled the paddock shelter as well as gave Daisy a tub which she was very pleased to finally get.

Time to start the table, first step was to fill chunks missing on both sides. The day got even warmer hitting plus 7 so I hauled out one of the table top pieces and tried to palm sand out all the doodles in the top. I also sanded the chair I hauled over yesterday for the customer wanting an all white one. It however has a chipping black paint on it. I scrubbed it earlier today. It sanded ok but will need hand sanding too.

you would think I could find a single suitable chair in this pile but it seems they are mostly sets

B was back at 6 filling her tires with air then changed Daisy's bandage as I refilled her stall. She loaded up Cooper and was off for home at 6:30.

I wrote another post for Hometalk for the old ladders along with some accounting and marketing. I spent allot of time today helping a customer find a paint color for one of the dressers I have to paint. After it all we will see if she does order it. Even though I had some chicken soup I made a late supper of chicken and zucchini at 9 after giving Daisy her evening meds & beet pulp. Then it was shower then tablet time. Amazingly I won another Instagram giveaway; this time for $75 of wooden sign products. YEAH!

Daisy gets a day pass

It seems after my usual wake ups to check time around 5, 6 and 7 I slept in till 8:35!! I awoke with a start and was out of bed and off to give Daisy her meds. It is a sunny -4 morning so after her meds I put her in the round pen for the day with some hay which made her very happy. She had drank a bucket of water overnight and ate her hay and did not seem as itchy which were all good signs. I woke feeling much better too although S says he is worse.

Back inside Prince was making coffee then took his back to bed. I got a post published before heading out to add the second coat inside the cabinet and door back. Once motivated by coffee S headed out to bring the Xmas tree from the shop mez I have started laundry too as part of my daily chores which lasted all day long. S also fine tuned Lola's shelter hauling out 4 hay bales to close it in more, she is not a fan of the cushions so I will move. She has to see too so not sure what she will think of the wall ;)

He helped me take the bed frame apart and move to the basement. This now gives me much more room in the workshop, thanks! We had hot noodle soup for lunch to help with the cold. It is now PLUS 1 as we caught the noon news with forecast to stay above for the weeks highs all but Thursday.

I NEED to get a good photo to sell this beauty but it is sooo big

S was off at 1:30 driving thru town to exchange new mitts B had bought in lieu of his Cooper chewed up and drop off my Etsy parcel! I got busy on the custom pieces distressing the cabinet and dark waxing the entry table. At 2:30 I ran out to give Daisy her mid day meds and walk her to water both inside and at the trough but no luck so back to the pen with some more hay. I got back to the table finishing it all up.

At 4:30 I went back out to put Daisy in the stall seeing it is getting dark sadly with the time change and winter solstice approaching. The round pen was poop picked (this is a good sign) before I gave Pepper his pill too. Then it was time to sort photos on the computer. While I ate supper I chatted with Shaina as they were delayed in the plane for over an hour but by 6 they were on their way headed home via LA.

Daisy got her last antibiotic dose along with her antihistamine which will not be for much longer. I took warm water but she had not drank any since putting her away at 4:30 so filled her hay and back in by 9. I spent some time sorting the table pieces into order and deciding what to do. In bed I watched the latest Shameless episode then entered some more Instagram giveaways while enjoying a protein smoothie. Yesterday I won a full set of lashes!!

this is how it lays out with a full section on each end that pulls out

Dec 1st already and a chinook

Beautiful sunrise coming up around 7:45 as I woke, The usual PJS in coveralls to give Daisy her meds then seeing it was no wind -9 out took her out for a walk and forage for grass in the snow. She had drank 3/4 of the water and ate her hay overnight so that was good to see her hunger strike over. She may even get some time later today in the round pen. S was making coffee as I came back in before 9.

I served the prince his coffee in bed then on to get bedroom furniture quotes for a gal but I discouraged her seeing it was veneer over chipboard and not a lovely style. I have a custom table top coming after lunch so in order to make room I black waxed the large queen size bed frame to finish it up. Then I cleaned up the garage to make room. They arrived at 12:30 to drop off as S was making his way back from dumping the stall shavings at the pit with the skid steer. We had a brief consult and paint color choice and they were on their way. Time for a grilled cheese for lunch. Britt and Dave dropped Cooper off as we were cooking it then they were off to the city to look for Black Friday mattress sales.

this is their dining table top to be redone

S jumped into big brown for a nap and I went out to put a second coat of white on the cabinet. He woke and went to roll a bale out at 2:30 as I took a break and went to give Daisy her Dex shot and antihistamine. Seeing it was now -4 and sunny I decided to give her some freedom to forage in the round pen for a couple hours. This pleased her very much and for 2 hours she pawed and scrounged for grass with no attempt to roll or rub.

Mama K and Candace were thinking of stopping today on way home from Christmas markets in the city but instead of chancing our cold germs they met with Kaylin for a late lunch. And time has flown by, Shaina is coming home tomorrow from Sydney after a week in Bali as a bonus.

I went back and finished the cabinet painting the inside a first coat and distressing outside then moved onto the second coat on the entry table. S worked on 2 outdoor lights that have been flashing. At 4:30 I wrapped up the painting, put Daisy back in her stall and came in for a cold beer.

Tacos are on the menu for supper so I got the beef cooking up and then ran out to sand distress the entry table. S kindly chopped lettuce, tomatoes and avocado and once I was back in we chowed down. And by chow down it was 5 tacos plus a taco salad for one and the other had half that. Let's just say there were no left overs! ;)

I hopped into the tub at 7 but Britt and Dave arrived about 7:15 so I jumped out and she and I went to change Daisy's bandage and give meds. Dave stayed to watch the hockey game with S. We finished up and they were off for home after 8.

Seems Cooper got a fancy new coat today on the shopping trip
