windy chinook day

The sun was out but the chinook winds howled. Perfect time to get busy in the garage but first a couple cappuccinos and some marketing. It was then on to paint the first coat of navy on the dresser hutch.

I forgot to share this photo of Lola surrounded by darn magpies.. seems she had something they wanted. Prior to me grabbing the camera there were at least 8 around her! Of course we don't have this snow after these warm windy days..

While it dried I removed the clamps on the vanity pieces and filled the chipped veneer areas and glued the lower edge of the seat. Inside I was sending the dresser owner update pics when Amanda called around 12:30. She had taken Asher to get his wrist checked and the xray showed it was set wrong. This meant he needed to be put under and have it reset. I brushed my teeth, changed into jeans and was off to town in short order. I loaded the 3 little ones and the stroller, whew that has been awhile then off to their house. Lunch and play was our afternoon. The suggested hour extended with poor Ash pretty groggy and low blood pressure like his mom and I , then nausea from the anesthetic so had to stay allot longer. They did arrive home at 4:30 with a bright new green cast and stuffy.

I had to jet off as I had booked an online marketing course at 5. I stopped and grabbed Vietnamese take out and the mail on the way and when I got home could not find the link. Rats, so I ate and headed out to put another coat of navy on the set. Watching the last Tidying Up then on to Sabrina while I caught up on the blog. I am running out of shows, any recommends?

First big projects of the year started and horse chiro

SINUS HEADACHE to start the day, this cold needs to go. Thanks to my migraine pills it did subside with 2 cappuccinos so I could get on with the day. Thinking I was going to start the 2 tables, I headed out and realized the dark one needed that was super glossy would benefit from the ultra grip first. This coat takes 12 hours to dry so once it was applied to both tables and both flat surfaces it was now off limits to paint.

Moving on to set up another project I got busy on the latest little vanity, stool and mirror. Hardware, seats and mirror were removed then all was scrubbed well and a few repairs started.

What a beautiful day, the chinook hit PLUS 9 with no winds!! I went out just before 3 to hook up the trailer and just like that it was done. My appointment for the horses was not till 4 and seeing I could not get the gate open near the trailer due to iced over snow bank I grabbed the trim bucket, threw in the truck and headed down the road. The horses were grazing in the corner closest to the road so stopping there I jumped out and handily trimmed KD in 15 minutes. It would have been faster without Roo in my face and tipping the bucket lots ;)

I moved the trailer to the far gate and walked back to catch Switch, Bird and Roo then took them back to the gate, loaded them and headed to chiro Murray. Even with his usual chat, I had all 3 unloaded, treated and loaded back up in half an hour and on my way back home. I let the girls back out at their far gate to join the herd and I to the house.

SO nice to have such a beauty day with no wind and get all this done so far. A quick bowl of soup (thanks Mama K) and a salad and it was time to meet the fellow dropping off the dresser/hutch. This guy was a chatter. He does now have a few other items including the crib he wants me to paint, yeah!

Once he was off, I got Lola in and headed for a soak then to bed to finish the You season on Netflix. Lights out at midnight after a great productive day.

double birthday day

My time spent assisting a potential customer with 2 end tables paid off with a down payment for them in my email this am. Another I helped with a custom quote confirmed they will go ahead and drop it off tonight!! That is 3 pieces booked in for 2019, great start.

trying to facetime with the birthday boy had this photo bomber hogging the camera ;)

Mya sent a thank you pic, such a sweet 10 yr old

I spent the morning marketing (creating a new video cover for FB), writing 3 more Hometalk posts to qualify for another feature and repainting the drawers on the jewelry box I let dry overnight (I don't like the glaze) Once dry all was sanded and black waxed. The necklace carousel was spray painted black and the glass faux mercury. Pretty purple scrap paper was cut and put in the top and hardware put back on. Another one done, first project painted for 2019.

I hauled out the 2 tables ordered for the custom paint and got them all scrubbed up. Leaving them to dry I went in and wrote the white chest blog post while watching another episode of Tidying Up

Chinook winds blew all day under an overcast dreary sky hitting plus 7. The sun did peek thru a few times in the late afternoon. However it is Asher and Mya's birthday's today so something to celebrate. Amanda invited me for cupcakes so the dresser drop off will be tomorrow. After finishing up I was off to town to pick up Shaina at the gym at 6. She and I then went for a fancy dinner at A&W then off to enjoy a birthday cupcake at the Paetz's.

Time to say goodbye and drop Shaina back at the gym for her 8 pm boot camp. I headed home after grabbing some groceries, Lola was eager to go in the garage after her last night out. After stuff was put away I relaxed with some Tidy episodes and Youtubes.

Asher finished assembling his Lego Minecraft we gave him

2019 is here

Hello 2019, I started the year changing the water filter on the coffee pot and resetting the odometer on my car. Fresh new year ahead.

Sharon popped over for coffee at 10:30. We spent almot 4 hours catching up and stratgizing for our businesses in 2019. Just before leaving she checked out the recent desk I purchased possibly for their home.

Britt sent a picture of her new cart all set up as a coffee station, adorable!

Time to paint the jewelry box, I went with the majority vote of purple. Two coats went on and after supper I applied the glaze to the drawer fronts and left to dry overnight.

It hit plus 4 today, that was nice. I worked on picture editing, organizing and getting blog posts written up while watching a few more You episodes. Lola did not want to come in as the coyotes were acting up and seeing it was still 2 degrees I left her out for the night.
enjoying hot tea in my new mug from B!

I found a new Netflix show to end my first day of the year with inspiration called Tidying with Marie Kondo. I am a firm believer of surround yourself with things you LOVE and now just need to learn to let the rest go.
