And the paint goes on ...

Sunny wake up, hello cappuccino. The chocolate mens valet drawer was painted another coat of blue. Then I wrote a blog post for the blue valet.

Right side is 1 coat from yesterday, the teal over the orange lining turned it green, left is 2nd coat going on. A 3rd coat went in the drawer before moving on to waxing the rest of the valet and putting it all back together.

The teal jewelry box was distressed, clear and dark waxed. The lining was glued in, as was the mirror then the glass pieces were sprayed mercury look.

The MCM cabinet blog post was written and posted later tonight. I forced myself to haul out the Xmas tree boxes, it is a pain to get to the storage area and get them all hauled out but I did and decorated the tree minimally with just beads, ribbon and glass balls. I filled the hurricane lamp too, that is it for today.

Onto another project, the step stool I was repairing, it got a coat of teal as well.

The fellow for the candle sticks called at 3:30 for directions but almost 4 hours later he has not arrived. It seemed like an odd transaction all along so I guess it was best he was a no show. I was writing more blog posts when a ding came in to say I had an Etsy sale; the grey jewelry box. I knew it should go as I have had lots of interest. It was favorited by 17 people and 7 had it in their carts. One had emailed about shipping cheaper so last night I had got it all boxed up so it was all ready to go once this gal from Illinois purchased it. Will run it to town tomorrow.

The cats were whining so I ran out thinking they needed food... in sandals... bad idea as there was snow and they actually had food LOL. Attention seekers extraordinaire. Back to marketing and Netflix.

More Small Projects

I had a wake up call at 8:30 from a fellow wanting me to hold the candlesticks for him till tomorrow night, hope he follows thru. This had me up early writing posts and marketing. I finished writing then posted the white magazine rack blog post.

Staging up the mens valet was the next order of business.

To finish the pink jewelry box I sprayed the glass once more and added zinc wax to the chest. Put all together it looks really cute, time to snap pictures and get it posted for sale. I put it and the MCM table on all my sale sites; Etsy, Varagesale, Facebook, Kijiji

More repairs were made to the other mens valet, this one with a drawer that I am going to try and paint after the lining was glued and clamped in spots and dry. I went with chocolate on this one as the other valets were grey, black and navy.

I brought in the big jewelry box I was repairing last night, it was next on the paint line getting teal paint. First though the edges were painted cream.

Seeing I had the teal out I chose it for the valet drawer color.

I ran to Stout's for my last pet feeding shift with yet another great sunset in the making. Only -5 today and supposed to get warmer. I took Lola in when I got back for the night foiling her late night plans ;)

I posted the partial picture of the valet and it was sold in less then an hour with one wanting it right after. Hopefully she will take the chocolate one.

Small projects on the go

Gloom was back as was soft snow for the morning. And cold, they say today coldest day of the season, week for sure at -16 (it did hit high -4 somewhere in the day)

I hauled the cabinet in to stage some photos and post a preview.

Then it was on to new projects; a jewelry box and men's valet. The men's valet is exactly the same as the last one I did black so I did this one the same blue of the cabinet.

The heart jewelry box I mulled between light and dark pink, AJ helped me go with dark. Both got 2 coats of paint and sanding. The etched glass top of the jewelry box was sprayed my favorite faux mercury glass.

I ran over at my usual 4 pm to feed Bones and the kitties. I had put the chicken carcass on for soup today so got that finished for supper. Another valet was glued and vacuumed prepping for paint as well as another jewelry box. A stool was sanded and more wood filler added. All this while waiting for miss Lola who continues to think she needs to patrol once called. Tonight is cold at -16 and she was not convinced to come in till 10 pm!

Cabinet stenciled

I awoke to the glorious sunshine, pretending the snow was sand was easy. Today I had 2 cappuccinos to start my day then got busy getting a blog post finished and up and marketing. Of course the blog post turned into an hour and half on the phone with Microsoft trouble shooting yet another issue.

By now it is noon, time to get the cabinet stencilled. After facetiming Amanda and Archer for their opinions I went with the all over pattern in pale gold. Once dry it was sanded smooth for a faded look, hardware cleaned and reapplied and hauled inside. Shaina text they arrived in Ho Chi Minh just before 2 pm (4 am there)

I ran to feed bones at 4 enjoying the golden hour of beautiful colors on my way. I continued my work on the vacation blog and photos with a break facetiming with Shaina at 10 (noon the next day Vietnam time) Netflix kept me company while I worked and before falling asleep.
