Winter is still here ;(

Another coffee in bed to start the day. S was off to the city at 10 to meet Craig for a meeting while I stayed to work on projects hoping my headache would cease. The table and window frame were hemp oiled,

stencils added to the one treasure box inside and on top then white waxed

I chocolate washed the "tray" after sealing with poly but it was an epic fail so the plan changed to wash and dry brushed. I finally stenciled the coffee table top.

above you see the difference the dark wax made on all but the top and below the stencil

all the blue milk paint pieces

The egg lady dropped off eggs mid painting too. I was finished and resting my head in the big comfy chair when Sheldon rolled in around 2:30. The weather had changed from -2 and sunny this am to overcast and gloomy with the wind picking up. Shaina made it before 3:30, jumped into coveralls and went and caught KD. She rode her back to the barn where I met them and got her all trimmed up in under an hour.

Shaina then rode her back to the winter pasture gate and was off to train Sharon. Shelby stopped out around 4:30 to drop off polocrosse books and a visit. She left just ahead of Shaina who was back at 5:30 for supper then off to boot camp at the usual after 6 time. Soon after the snow rolled in and the wind picked up even more.

My aching body enjoyed a hot soak in the tub then Sheldon and I watched Bad Grandpa. Shaina and Carly stopped out briefly to pick up a product for Kaylin and said the road was drifting in again.

trip to town

Prince delivered a hot coffee in bed, I am down to one cup as not enjoying it as much any more but thank you. For his recovery Tuesday he was up early. We headed to town to run a few errands including dropping my parcel in the mail, picking up the green antique dresser left at the local store before we went out before a quick lunch at the golf course.

Back at the ranch we unloaded the dresser in the entry way where I worked on repairs (gluing new drawer stoppers in and putting hardware back on that jiggled loose and staging a few new photos. S read the mail then had his big nap in the big comfy brown recliner.

I went out to work on projects. I made milk paint in a fun green color and while it sat the allotted time I took the antique table out and sanded it outside. It was bright and sunny but -8 was brisk. Back in my warm garage I painted the table and the one side of the window frame.

I made a new blue milk paint and put it on the other side of the window and seeing I had lots left painted one of the frames I washed up along with the 2 treasure boxes I had started. I also painted the maple door scrubbed up too I plan to make into a tray and added the blue over the green on the table too. (pics tomorrow)

S awoke from his nap and went out to play pushing snow, back in for another rest then rolled a bale out for the horses.

Hot soup supper and hockey for S while I was back at work on the paint projects. I started the chocolate wash on the coffee table but of course it dried quick and my OCD tendencies had me wiping an area that turned in to a redo that did not work so ended up repainting it ;(

I moved on to sanding the milk paint projects before heading to bed to watch Netflix.

The coyote were pestering Lola all day and the evening was no better. She refused to come in at usual time and even after I finished the Zumbos Just Desserts and S was snoring still no go. Finally at 1:30 I got her in but unfortunately could not fall asleep now till around 3:30 (snoring did not help)

Monday Monday

It is indeed Monday and the first one in April. Happy sweet 16 to niece Brooke today! There are a few birthdays this month coming up ;)  I had a lady interested in a Lululemon hoody I had posted and this am she confirmed it. So time to package it up, print a label and get it ready to be dropped in the mail.

In the garage, I put together my new mechanics stool!!! I LOVE it, so handy as I put another coat on the coffee table then distressed it.

Time to get more projects ready; I scrubbed up the antique table and narrow window my customer just brought. then the table had repairs and clamps needed in many places to try and get back into original shape.

And then 7 wood frames which I plan to make up for the market at the end of May.

It was another sunny day but about -3 at warmest. I took out veggie trimmings for the ponies to call them over to the tossed bale. They headed on the trail they have forged to the far side. I tried coaxing all the way into the far paddock but they were on a mission. I had to try and get thru the knee deep snow to cut them off at the west paddock gate. I tried luring them back to winter pasture and then broke trail for them along the fence towards the house. Only 4 were wise enough to follow me so once back at the bale piles I tossed 3 over to the silly ponies who stayed on the old route.

Back to work on projects in garage before prince got home before 11.

Easter Sunday - April Fools

Happy Easter Sunday everyone!  Mom and I had coffee and a visit before Craig and Asher came to pick her up. Britt woke and bought Cooper up to meet them all before they were off. Cooper was then off to play with Lola and find himself uber close to a lone coyote who was back to what seemed like, play.

watch Cooper heading out to meet the coyote then turns tail

then Lola moves out and he gives the coyote chase as Britt stomps angrily out yelling for him to get back to safety .. but he does not listen

I staged the custom dresser up.

B tossed a bale for the horses, on the other side as the one I tossed is still there ;(

I started hamburger soup and let it simmer. B was off to have an afternoon nap. I had an interested customer for the corner cabinet so was looking up shipping to Whitehorse! when an Airdrie fellow messaged and was here in an hour. He bought it and checked out other pieces I had. After he and I had it loaded he was off when I messaged him about the latest rustic dresser. He turned around to check it out and will go home and measure.

Now that B was up (I woke her to help me load the cabinet as the fellow had a recent hernia operation but after seeing how light it was he and I loaded) I had her help me lift the super heavy dresser off and I got it staged. I also painted the inside of the garage door where the dark paint of the outside shows, perfect! Now the lines do not distract in staging out there. Look up at the antique dresser pics to see the difference

B and Cooper were off to the city before 6 after hot soup. I started a new series on Netflix called Zumbos Just Desserts and almost have it finished.
