Sunshine Sunday

The sun is back for another sunshine Sunday. Time to give the coffee pot a good clean and change the filter. A couple cups in before 9 armed me with loads of energy, now what to do with it. I started with marketing and sending the first email to my subscribers.

I found a new egg lady and today she said she was passing by and could bring eggs, perfect. I will meet you at the gate. Before meeting her I went out to check cat food and toss the ponies a bale to supplement till prince gets home.

 deep snow

Off I ventured to meet her at the gate at 11:30. I snapped a pic as the gates opened thinking man it drifted in pretty good but off I went..

well not for long ;) yep the snow had us high centered moving neither back or forth.

Thank goodness for good neighbors.. Darren was down in no time and in fairly short order had me tugged out.

I turned around and blasted back through it and to the house. There is no way the merc will make it thru tomorrow night.

.
The rest of my day I stayed at the house. Time to sand down & scrub well the antique dresser I was working on while back and while I was in scrubbing mode I gave the automatic dog feeder Mom brought for me to try with Lola to give a bit more freedom when we leave say overnight. Once dry I did repairs on the dresser leaving to dry.

The day was so darn sunny and nice looking that if only there was not 2 feet of snow on my deck I would have loved to drink a refreshing beer out there on my break ;) But it also is -10 too.

 one of my giveaways planned

Supper was 5/6 night goulash but heh at least it is easy. Once Lola was in I tested the new auto dog feeder. I put canned food in to entice her and if I hold the door open she will stick her head in and grab the soft food but will not do on her own. Looks like some training yet to go.

Marketing, then tub time to finish Chasing Coral ... crazy how what we don't see we tend to ignore.. so much coral has died and is dying.. wow. I also caught up on Scandal and finished season 13 of Grey's, now what? Well I managed to do new FB algorithm research till 1:30 am before shutting it all down.

so much snow

The snow was still coming down lightly when I got up. Time to get ready for the dresser pick up and private class. I put on nice smelling essential oils and finished organizing the house. Looking out the front door I saw this and the other doors as well.

The garage door was froze shut so required some work to get Lola out but she was happy in this fluffy new snow. Bundled up and jazzed on a couple cups of coffee, I went and shoveled off the decks, the snow was so light and fluffy it was easy.

looks like I wont be backing the car out today ;)

this only took about 5 minutes

I had started the truck while I shoveled and took a trip to the gate at Prince's request to shovel the gate path if needed. Well now there is so much snow.. the road was level to the top of the side burms and on both side of the gate about 2 plus feet deep. I shoveled the gate down and blasted through to the highway. So fun to drive the road in 4X4 but not sure B could make it or the others planning to come so cancelled all. Back to the house to make more coffee and do some online work.

Lola came to the gate to supervise then led me home (her in the left track below)

The snow let up around noon and the sun tried to come out but soon turned overcast again.  I then headed out to work on the cabinet. I had started the dark wax last night waiting for Lola but left to show the gal in paint class. Seeing we bumped it 2 weeks I finished the cabinet and later on hauled it inside to stage and post a bit.

Not wanting to have goulash for supper # 5 I cooked a salmon burger in my fab cast iron pan and had spinach (no fixings so used ceasar dressing lol) and my homemade aioli sauce .. so yummy, well worth the clean up.

While I worked on posting the cabinet and writing up its blog post and other marketing I watched A Plastic Ocean Shaina suggested for me. So sad how the oceans have become dumping grounds. We must reduce and recycle our plastic.. worldwide! I also then started Chasing Coral before getting to sleepy to finish.

SNOW DAY

The day started with snow and it snowed ALL DAY! Perfect day to get busy on the projects whether painting or marketing. I put two coats of poly sealer on the cabinet after a few touch ups and as each coat dried worked on reposting more Etsy listings.

view from garage door

It seems my 5yr post on my FB page was deleted because I used the bad word giveaway.. I found it and reworded it and hope it will be seen now. If you see it please comment on it! FB rates you higher the more comments and shares you get on a post.

The gal coming to see the stenciled coffee table last w/e had arranged for tonight on her way to the Hat. And true to her word she arrived at 5:30 making her way down the "bobsled track" we have. She was a young girl and immediately smitten, she and her friend loaded it up and off they went. I love to see young people see the value in well built pieces.

I wrote up a blog post for the latest plaster pieces then had to get it on sites. I took at late supper break at 7:30 to have another bowl of goulash.. for the 4 night in a row ;) I posted the bohemian stool in IG and FB and in minutes a good customer messaged wanting it and 2 of hers painted to match! And bringing a dresser to paint too.. yeah!

cabinet work continues

I awoke to another small Etsy sale, yeah! So I got it touched up, packaged up and a label printed and it is good to go.. to Calgary ;)

I juggled more marketing before running to town. I loaded the truck up with all the cardboard to recycle, the trash to pitch, 4 boxes of treasures for the take it or leave it and was off. What a beauty sunny day and -6. I picked up some curvy moulding for the paint class Saturday then loaded up at Walmart on pet food, groceries and some gifts. Next the parcel was dropped off and 2 picked up, score. (Seems there is a recall for toilet hoses from Costco they sent automatically from 7 years ago buying, great customer service right?)

tried donating magazines and books to the library but they are not taking either ;( Time to grab a chai and journey home stopping to toss trash and grab mail on the way by.

Now it was back to the cabinet putting on a coat of vintage white, sanding smooth and distressing.

Before bed I went to touch up a few areas while waiting for Lola to make her rounds and ended up doing my first Facebook live video (see it on my page). I decided the cabinet looked plain even with the layering so quickly went live then did the shelves too.
