First Sunday of 2015 was FREEZING. Lola however does not care, she even wanted out 3 times in the night. This makes for a disrupted sleep wishing for a dog door for sure. A leisurely start to the day with Candy Crush games and coffee in bed.
Eventually it was time to rustle Britt, grab some early lunch and head to the city. Today was family movie day to see The Hunger Games : Mocking Jay Part 1. If it had not been for Christmas returns I think the cold would have detoured the plan. On the way in it read -26!!! Snap it is COLD.
We made a quick stop at Costco to return and after seeing the crazy till lines up, changed the plan to restock. The next return was at Winners were we ran into an old friend, Don Peters and his family and enjoyed a nice quick visit.
It was then to Chinook where we grabbed tickets, teas and seats. Kaylin, Shaina & Aaron met us there. The movie did not disappoint. The city dwellers headed home while we continued to shop. Britt bought Sheldon 2 new hats for Xmas as she was down and out. We enjoyed supper at Joeys, the beach salad is sooooo delicious!! We even had caramel apple pie to top it off, some with maple walnut ice cream :-)
Still freezing cold we headed home to let out the puppies and spend the evening relaxing. Sheldon of course in front of the TV watching the juniors game, Britt to her room and me chilling with candy crush!

down comes Christmas & more purging
Jan 3 the cold snap begins. It is a good time to hunker down at home and purge drawers and closets. This is what I did then posted most for free. Sheldon even got his night stand and bathroom shelf sorted adding to things to post. It is a grand feeling to get organized for sure.
To continue this feeling I took down all remaining Christmas decorations enlisting Sheldon and Britt to help with a few things. Britt who slept till after 12 was forced to clean her room then vacuum it and the basement ( as a previous promise she had yet to fulfill). This was good timing as she wanted to head to town for a hockey game and wings with friends at 5.
Sheldon enjoyed his leisure day watching sports and perusing the internet on various interests! He and I enjoyed crab for supper.. perfect! Great way to end the clean & purge day!

Jan 2 - double birthdays
The day broke with fog rolling in and out and just after Britt was off to work for 9:30 (not feeling hot either I may add) soft snow began. Today is Mya and Asher's birthdays, big hugs to my little buddies!!
here the two are after they snuck Big D in at Xmas time :-)
another picture found from Xmas on my old camera.. Lexi trying on a gift bag
and this phone pic of Papa giving D his present ;)
The day continued to get stormier and colder going from -6 when we woke up to -17 (-28 with wind chill) when home from Asher's party. Sheldon rant to town in the morning while I stayed home to have ladies pick up some clothes and the egg lady to drop another 8 doz.
Since I had a few eggs and had been craving for awhile I made pizzeles. Delicious!! Always a hit. Sheldon took the ponies a bale rolling out along the trees for a bit of shelter in this miserable weather.
Britt did not enjoy the slippery roads on way home from work at 3. We were off to town dropping seafood smelly trash at the dump on our way in. Asher was celebrating 4 with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pizza party with cute cupcakes made by Amanda.
Ninja moves and his cute cupcakes.. nailed it AJ!
photographer Ada gets a close up portrait of Kicks
The drive home was even blustrier with snow accumulation covering the highway. A quick stop for Britt to feed Bones and home to warm house and continuation of the Canada Junior hockey game for Sheldon with a beer. I traded a pizzelle for a paralyzer while I updated blog and played a few of my games. Britt hit the basement of course feeling tuckered after a long day still not up to snuff! Did I mention the poor waif lost 13 pounds in the 13 days? and she did not need to loose even 1!
a couple had dropped off leather couch cushions for the dogs.. D was on right away, Lola not quite so sure of all this comfort
and a pic of the boarders to share too!

New Years Day
Happy 2015 everyone. Another year arrives just as fast as the previous one ended.
To start the New Year I always like to organize something so after Shaina got up, we all had eggs & coffee to get us going, it was distressing lessons on her jewel box before she headed to work for 11 and I started the pantry. Sheldon helped by washing dishes and unloading dishwasher.
I also took down all decorations but the tree, angel display and nativity but they will soon follow. Once Britt finally arose she was to work on her bedroom but was also forced to walk the dogs. I waxed Shaina's jewel box to help speed process. Early afternoon the 3 of us and Coco jumped in the truck to do for a drive. A quick stop to feed Bones and check Stouts horses and we were off east to look at some land for sale.
Rather than a rental property in town, Sheldon has explored the option of farmland rental. It turns out the property was very close to Britt's friend and it looked like a nice piece. It was then time to head home to start the annual seafood feast
Shaina and Kaylin were excited to see the huge king crab claws more than the lobster claws but along with Swedish meatballs, lollipop shrimp and a roasted carrots/potatoes dish we were set. FULL were we all. Aaron was unable to make it but he was in our well wishes as we toasted to 2015

YUMMY fare.. Kaylin's disappointment after scoring what looked to be the biggest leg but the meat did not match lol
the finished project
Cards were next in order after a quick clean up. During a couple stopped to pick up GGK TV unit givng it a new home. The girls loaded up and headed home around 9:30 as they are heading out snowboarding tomorrow so Britt, Sheldon and I watched Fury then had a history lesson on WW2 until finally shutting it down at 1 am!
Great way to bring in the new year, king crab and family! CHEERS!

While things cooked Shaina finished the jewel box in dark wax after my demo, it is now ready to give to her friend as a made with love gift.
