712 - custom coffee table underway

Day 712 was slow start after getting Britt on the bus. Sheldon and I both managed to fall back asleep and lazily get up. He spent most of the cool day playing candy crush while I worked in the garage. I started my day glazing the colored chair

 and my sign

Today I also started a custom piece for a friend's daughter. She chose the blue bottom and grey top for her coffee table. I sanded it up and filled a few holes then put 2 coats blue on and 1 coat grey.
I sent her this photo to show color combo

Sheldon ran Britt's car into town to get the 2 new tires put on after lunch and grabbed groceries while there. Back home he unloaded groceries and for supper barbqued the venison roasts and a veggie pack for supper. Again I enjoyed working while he prepared supper and even cleaned up after.
Britt sports a new fur stole while she checked her animals.

After supper I had a soak in a hot tub while reading my book. Sheldon enjoyed one too while I updated blog and perused the net. Travis and Craig brought the truck out and had a quick drink and visit. I needed the truck for garbage to dump as well as picking up horse feed tomorrow :-)

711 - snow on Sunday

Day 711 is -2 dreary day with blowing but not accumulating bouts of snow, more of a pain in the rump kind of day. Sheldon did go to storage trailer to get me another coffee table after his lazy morning of coffee, baileys and candy crush but claimed it was too cold to stay and organize the trailer.

I spent the day working on projects yet again. The cold weather allows for lots of garage time for me although it is only 12 in there and could be warmer. I washed down an old chair and the latest custom coffee table with TSP water.

Put two coats of poly on the growth charts

And painted the old chair.. it is going to be so cute
Britt got up at noon and cooked perogies and bacon then retreated back to her basement for another rest. She tells me she did not watch TV today but over the last little while She has nearly gotten thru 5 seasons of Beverly Hills 90210 in between tons of movies. Darn netflix.
While I put a 2nd coat on the turquoise chair and hand painted words on a sign, Britt and Sheldon worked on removing the tint on her cars back window. This was a tedious time consuming job after the initial ripping off of tint. There was a layer of glue that they tried a steamer, glass cleaner, nail polish remover and finally successful with methyl hydrate.

I came in and made a salmon and quinoa supper and after we all filled up good it was relax time. I had a nice hot shower and enjoyed computer time, Britt watched TV and Sheldon and his tab played games. I managed to score another accent table on the bidding site and posted more furniture on kijiji. I have had interest in the grey dresser just need to move some stuff.
By late evening there was a good ground cover of snow :-( booo I was chatting with Shaina online and she said hot and sunny there but would trade me for a bit as she misses the snow. I am in!! She attended "The Man From Snowy River" competition this weekend and it was really good. It is similar to cowboy up here but of course much harder. Here is her quote "It's like what we watched at stampede I think but it's three days long and the winner gets 20 grand prize money and a saddle and stuff".... after being there she said "It was pretty awesome. All the finalists were close. Top 10 had to catch a brumby and then ride a bronc while cracking a bull whip and you were judged on all events"

Not long and she will be home to practice it on her wild brumbies :-) Miss you Dude! XOXOXOXOXO

710 - projects and electrical

Day 710 was cool and dreary yet again. Britt worked from 10-4:30 today and since Sheldon needed to help Matt get electrical supplies they ran her to work. Craig and Asher stopped out soon after with the repaired truck needing to hook up to the dump trailer and borrow both to haul away trees. While they waited for Sheldon to return they came in for coffee and a visit.
Sheldon and Matt stopped back at about 11:30, Sheldon hooked up the truck and the fellows were off to town. Sheldon and Matt loaded up Diego to go play with Oscar and got supplies from our place and tools and headed to Matt's. Sheldon was back with the skid steer to haul out a bale for the horses and grab some lunch I had whipped up before he returned.
I worked on more furniture projects; I glazed the grey table, sanded and stained some maple boards for measuring charts, painted a board for a sign and spent a ton of time washing and scraping the oval oak table. There was sticky jam and gunk all over the table in cracks and crevices and under it and all over the top. I am not sure how they managed to use it without kids sticking to it, hahahaha. Man it was a well used table!

I ran to town at 4:30 to pick up Britt from work and stopped to pick up some more purchases. Two pine end tables for projects and a lulu item for Kaylin. We also made a quick stop at my work to print some numbers to use as my guide for the charts. Sheldon was home around 4:30 and spent his time playing candy crush for the rest of the evening while watching hockey in front of a fire. When pulling in garage I decided I did not like the glaze so quickly washed most of it off, thank goodness the drying time is forever on that.

I threw together supper then headed back out to the garage to hand paint the numbers and measurement markings on the growth charts and sorting and storing spray paints in my paint cupboard before coming in for a hot bath around 10. I quickly updated the blog before the bath then enjoyed a comfy relaxing read.

709 - coffee and wax

Day 709, Britt and I were up early. We were invited over to a neighbors for coffee and girl time. It was a very nice visit and tour of their new house progress, Thanks Rhonda for the hospitality!

At noon we came back home where I got busy waxing the bottoms of the coffee and end tables to finish them up to be ready for sale and the grey dresser. I then started to put the grey dresser back together.

I also put a 2nd coat of paint and a layer of glaze on the bulletin board. Not sure the glaze made a difference though. But painting cork worked so may do a jewelry board for Britt
Sharon picked up Britt about 4:30 to take her and Bird to RJ to ride with them for a bit dropping her back home by 6. Sheldon was home from his 4th week of work at the new job, he is now yearning for a plant and not downtown office work, hahaha

After enjoying a shake and bake chicken supper I went to finish putting dresser together, Sheldon played candy crush and Britt watched more TV. I updated the blogs and put furniture on kijiji for sale.
