708 - polox drill team commences

Day 708 I spent in the garage working on projects
2nd coat of paint on the side board/entry table/dresser/tv console
I have left the original stain color on the inside in tact as it is in great condition and adds a pop of color
I put another coat of glaze on the bottom and another coat of poly on the top of the tables

and this is an experiment in painting cork.. this old cork/dry erase board needed an overhaul but most places said you cannot paint cork as it absorbs to much water.. lets see
I think it worked fine, this is coat number one

It was then time to shower up and get ready to head to polox drill team practice in Okotoks at Jac's arena. Britt was happy Sheldon arrived home just as we were leaving so she drove me to practice in her new to her car! There will be practice twice a week until Mane Event the end of this month. It turned out really well and is going to look great!
the team prepares to start the drill
but during the passing portion a ball goes down the wall.. Britt gives it a go from her trusty ladder Desi
 reaches a little farther
a bit more but the helmet is too big
so she loses that and gets a longer stick (one Jac used when riding Julio)
and success, she retrieved the ball Lesley threatened would cost them $30 :-)

Britt drove use home too leaving around 10 and we only had a couple detours with all the construction. I forgot to mention we nearly crashed on the way there in the same construction zone when the line ahead all stopped fast, quick thinking Britt breaked and quickly pulled into the open left lane avoiding a rear ender.. whew.. another near miss with her behind the wheel.. guess it means she is quick on her seat thinker!

Sheldon enjoyed his night at home playing candy crush and watching hockey :-)

707 - dreary day

Day 707 was a dreary gloomy day, It did get to about 6 but it looked colder. I spent most of my day in the garage. First project was glazing the tables then much time preparing taping sanding and painting the side board/ TV stand.

I am liking the new graphite color and think it will be quite sharp when finished. I am now thinking it will make a really nice TV stand with the colors and hardware and more modern feel.
such a neat pattern but soon to be covered
Britt tried to jog at noon and was back in short order. Amanda stopped out to swap spices as she is pickling jalepenos today. I also managed to watched 2 PVR Nashville's in late afternoon while stuff dried.

Sheldon arrived home form work at 5 and after a quick beer I headed out to put 2nd coat on while he cooked up some hamburger and chopped veggies for tacos. We all enjoyed another of our favorite meals before the snow briefly blew thru at 8 :-( gosh darn it!!  But it soon passed :-) I quickly did touch ups while Sheldon watched hockey and Britt some more TV .

706 - table projects underway

Day 706, Sheldon was off to work early and sadly I was awake at 6:30 after reading til almost two. I started a new booked recommended to me called "My Name is Memory".

My morning consisted of starting back to work on the coffee and end table applying wax and buffing it up. I also removed all the hardware on the side board.

 color off  in this one

Britt rousted around 11:30 and our next project was catching and trimming 2 1/2 more horses feet. Beck and Pepper but By the half (Baby), I had blisters and seeing she was farting around allot and the 18 degrees was warm while wearing my winter boots, fleece sweat pants under my coveralls I decided to quit for now.
 mountains shining bright

The roofing company dropped off a dumpster for the upcoming re-shingling. Sadly we had lived in the house just over half a year when the hail storm hit. The roof was part of the damage covered by our insurance and one of the last to be fixed. They hope to get to it this week but the weather man says the weather will turn tonight or tomorrow :-(

I was photographing some furniture projects in the storage trailer when Travis and Asher arrived. TJ has an appointment with the tattoo guy for touch up so Asher came with us. We went to town to get Britt's registration and license plate for the probe. Funny how technology changes, he watched a movie on his ipad on the way and at the registration office waiting for us. We made a few more stops before dropping him back at home once Travis was done.

We met Sheldon at the garage where he was dropping the truck off to fix the oil issue. He had picked up two new tires on his way home for the probe as well. Back at the ranch another roofing guy was there matching colors for soffit, fascia, shingles and siding on the shed.

Everyone was hungry so time to prepare supper. Britt made a salad and deviled eggs while Sheldon cooked up the steaks.

After enjoying the meal Sheldon went to top up the tires, gas and oil on his "rental" car for the month (probe that is off Britt) while I enjoyed a soak in the tub and Britt watched TV . She and I both did a glam glow mask too.

705 - April Fools Day

Day 705 was a sleep in day, yahoo!! No work for Sheldon today and Britt and I start our vacation. I was up by 9 on the ipad but by 10:30 both Sheldon and I were out in the kitchen with coffee and creamer! :-) I started a pot of turkey soup and a load of laundry.

Britt was awake at 11 getting a call to work today. She was soon up and caught Julio and Bird making them their special food while I trimmed their feet. She then hustled inside to get ready for work at 3. (early but guess takes her a while :-))

Sheldon eventually came out into the sunshine and graded the road and yard again as I moved on to trimming trees. It seems we cant win for losing as a few of the trees have deer rubbing damage :-(
Bird playing in the "pond" below Coco loves spring

Sheldon ran quickly over to Matt's to measure up something electrical he wants his help doing. When he ran Britt to work he also did some errands including picking up another project for my list and returned with a tea too!

I put the first coat of paint on the table bottoms finishing as he arrived home. He helped pick the turkey meat off the bones while I chopped veggies. It was delicious and has to be one of my favorite parts of a turkey, home made soup!

there is a big sink hole and it sucked up a ton of water today, hard to see really in this photo but it just ran in all day, must be heading to the aquifer below

After soup I ran out and caught Daisy to trim her up. Sheldon was kind enough to come out and help me by holding her and passing farrier tools. He then caught KD and I trimmed her up too. Time to then unload the armoire in the storage trailer, thank goodness the ground has been drying so fast we could drive over with little ground disturbance. By now it was after 8 and Britt had left several messages and calls saying she was done work by 8. Sheldon went to retrieve her while I put a 2nd coat of paint on the tables before hitting a hot soak in the tub!
 incredible sunset yet again
