Eye glasses shopping

I heard H tip toeing around at 3 a couple times but thought to myself it was too early to eat breakfast so when heard her lay down I went back to sleep. In hindsight this was a sign as when S went to make coffee after 8 he found a pile of diarrhea poop on the back door mat. This was our fault feeding her so much raw meat yesterday and not getting up when hearing her pacing with a tummy ache. He put the rug on the deck and dealt with it after his morning coffees.

He took a poop loop after addressing the rug to tidy seeing it is melting all week. He hosed the rug and left it to dry, thanks S. Seeing the loaf of bread from yesterday was almost gone I pulled out the bread machine to give it a go then snapped some stool pics.

With new restrictions I had to book an appointment to look at eye glasses in town. It was today at 2 so Shaina and I headed in. I dropped her at the gym and then I had to wait for my 2 pm time. S left the ranch soon after with a few errands to do before jet setting north. He took the burger we picked up for his coworker to meet at airport making some room in the freezer for future sausage.

I picked out new glasses and got them ordered. Before picking up Shaina I grabbed some groceries quick and the mail on our way home. Only parcels and speeding tickets for Shaina were in the mail box. Back at the ranch I mixed up my jerky marinade and S was off to do more client check-ins.

This is the spicy marinade. I also made a non spicy batch. However I do think my butcher needs a lesson on how to thinly slice meat for jerky!

We had leftover roast beef for supper (and I had it for dinner too with S before he left) along with the fresh bread.

The crazy chinook winds picked up again, the high hit plus 5 so the snow has been steadily melting away. Britt brought Cooper out after 7 as I was working on stenciling the one tub tray. She ate a fresh piece of bread and was on her way in short order to get back for a board meeting. Harley came back into the garage as I clear coated the backs of both tub trays.

After finishing up the clear coat on the back sides I came in and wrote a Hometalk post for the kid set. I worked on more tutorials and the blog then hustled out after 9 to put all the cats away dragging H along out of her comfy bed. Back inside she got back in her bed as did I after scrubbing my face to read some more of my book. I was listening to a sleep podcast when Shaina made popcorn and delivered a small dish to me at 11 pm, thanks Dudie.

Butcher shop was open again

Sunday was yet another beauty sunrise and start to the day. I spent allot of it busy updating blog posts as I had an email I was accepted as a new milk paint affiliate. Check out the new colors I can order.

The sun did not last long and the rest of the day was cloudy and overcast but did hit plus 1. Butcher Bob got part of his deer to start chopping up around 1 stopping for a bowl of pho. Shaina was up later then usual but did spend a good part of the day cleaning the bathroom while watching her videos. I put a roast in the slow cooker at 11 then made a batch of no knead bread dough and let rise for 3 hours.

Britt arrived around 1 to feed Bird then hang out relaxing, painting her nails and enjoying the day. The bread was done about 3 and left to cool but it looks yummy!

Kaylin arrived bearing Starbucks beverages for all, THANK YOU. We had a nice visit as a beautiful sunset exploded out the window. Sheldon stopped to catch up too before he was back to the butcher shop. Sadly my roast was not ready for supper in time for Kaylin to join us having things in the city to do and she was off around 5:30.

I had potatoes and carrots ready to go with the roast and bread and made gravy once roast was out resting. It was yummy if I say so myself. B and Cooper were off for home before 7, Shaina helped wash up pots and pans and was off to the gym after7. Sheldon finished up at the butcher shop at 8 coming in to relax his sore back. Shaina was back before 9.

Shaina took this video of the kittens and Harley.. and we were worried she might eat them LOL

Bale jumping is a sport

The chinook winds started to howl and woke me at 3 am and again at 5. I looked and plus 3. It was still blowing when H like clockwork sat in the bedroom doorway just before 7:30. The sunrise had a chinook arch look to it. While she ate I buffed and oiled the navy silverware chest that was just sold on my Etsy store and created a box and gather packing to get it boxed up.

I made coffee and served the prince a cup in bed as he slumbered. Time to get the hipping label done but the gal chose a snail mail option so contacted her to see if wanted to increase. She kindly agreed to pay the extra via paypal which ended up being a nightmare trying to get working as paypal was taking .50 service charge for $5 CAD.

I jumped in the shower while waiting for another option to pay. Shaina was up by 9:30, made a cap and helped Sheldon who was now up with his hair cut then she was off to the city to go wedding dress shopping with her friend Emily.

Harley found a sun ray to nap in while I showered.

We loaded Harley and some tools up and headed to town after 11. First stop to drop off the Etsy parcel then grab lunch at Opa. Harley was dropped off with Britt and Cooper on our way to the Paetz home by 12:30. S did his electrical thing while Aj and I visited.

B wanted to trim feet so eventually seeing S was not finished by 3 I took Asher and Ada with me and headed home. Britt had already been there for an hour and tweaked the toes she felt needed it. The kids and I played ball with Harley and the kittens. B and Coop headed home as I came in. The 2 youngsters played on the bales which is always a kid favorite game. I worked a tutorial for the custom navy bar stools and finished after supper.

Craig drove Sheldon home bringing Archer along around 4:30 checking out the deer then coming in for a visit before heading home around 5:30. I made some pho, pot stickers, jalapeƱo poppers and leftovers for our supper. We headed to bed early on a Saturday night with S on his phone and me reading my new library book; The Universe Has Your Back . Shaina arrived home after 1:30 again with Harley alerting us to her arrival.

Deer #2

Another regular day at the ranch with a great sunrise. While H ate breakfast I wiped another coat of hemp oil on the stool. It is black Friday so I got some marketing done sharing some of my affiliate deals while S made a breakfast sandwich and packed up again to go hunting. Shaina was rousted to finish her making a breakfast bun he attempted too around 10 then he was off at 10:30 to hunt with Steve. It was a beauty sunny warm day out so I took Harley for a walk.

Time to get some tub trays started. One was done in anew black caviar and one in a new walnut gel stain. Both were left to dry for 3+ Hours.

A wee break then seeing it was plus 7 out I hauled the antique table back out and hand sanded it. Sheldon text at 3:30 he was successful getting deer #2.

"I like apple really I do"

Har has taken to debarking logs

Shaina ventured to the gym before 5 as I was putting another coat of stain on the darker tray. I worked on marketing and blogs till the Shaina arrived back around 7:30 with Britt right in front of her.

Shaina took these pictures and video on her way out

They had to detour as bad accident at glenmore hwy 817 corner ;( Shaina had picked up Edo for her and I but she shared with B who put a pizza in and she had some of it. Sheldon was home with his deer around 8:30. he came in for a drink and quick visit then out to skin it. B and Coop headed home around 9 as Shaina headed to the tub. I caught a skin care order in time to add B's order to it as my only Black Friday purchase. I started a book called The Universe Has Your Back.

Milk Paint class

H came into the bedroom to sleep on carpet after 7 then back to door half hour later when I got up and let her out and got our day going. I awoke with another headache and spent part of the am ordering glasses online only to find they don't give pupillary distance on the prescription nor to the person as they want to sell glasses. Good Grief! S relaxed with his phone but did let out cats and drill a couple wee holes in a plastic drawer front for the freezer that had clasps break and McGuivered it to fit back on with tie wraps. I finished class prep.

Can you see the repair?

The gals arrived for class just after 1 as S was loading up to head out hunting. The class went our beautifully with Harley getting lots of love and attention. One of the gals taking it took the course just to meet her and spend time with her and bring her friend (who has taking painting classes with me before too). I painted a custom ordered step stool at the same time which was a bonus.

Class finished after 4 and they were off. I scrubbed up all brushes and tools then finished the black stool with sanding and hemp oiling. A dog food delivery was made while in the garage which I thought was S who actually did not get home till 5:30 as I was finishing the stool and was skunked on his hunt.

Time for a beer while I tossed in the squash to roast and cooked up the turkey meat sauce. We were just getting ready to eat when Shaina arrived back after 7 and Britt joined not long after. B was off for home before 8 while Shaina joined us for a game of dice before her 8:30 client call. S put away kitties while I made popcorn and we started the last few episodes of Bad Blood. Ice cream was dished up before the final episode, haha. The day was really nice out hitting plus 3 but the winds picked up in the evening getting stronger closer to midnight. It is a warm chinook wind though.
