Kuhn birthday celebration dinner

After getting the dog fed and coffee going Candace did my nails, THANK YOU!! Everyone slowly joined in on the coffee followed by a brunch. Britt arrived in time to join us too. S checked rain gauge and we had 7/1-ths yesterday.

We visited while I prepped potatoes and the ham to cook for an early supper. Grama and B got their nails done too. Kaylin, Devon and the dogs arrived to join in the visiting. The rain has past but it was cool and breezy 10 out.

Diesel and Lexi enjoy visiting the ranch (click picture to enlarge to see lol). D really enjoyed rolling in the horse poop. The dogs had a blast playing for sure.

This was the nap room after the ham and sausage supper eaten early after 4.

Here are the October birthday Kuhn's we celebrated along with Ma & Pa's anniversary and thanksgiving. It was really nice to get together to celebrate them.

The Hatters headed east at 5:30, Britt and Coop after all her horse care duties were off at 6 then Kaylin and Devon (after he bathed Diesel in the garage) at 7. It is getting so dark earlier each day. S and I soaked in a hot tub then enjoyed popcorn Shaina shared before she too went to have a soak in the tub.

Rainy October day

The forecasted rain started just before midnight and drizzled thru the night. Harley alerted us to Shaina's arrival home before 2. It was still raining when H wanted out at her 3:30 request but let up by early morning. Coffee and breakfast for H then I was busy posting the pink project as an auction and sharing it all over in hopes of getting some bids. S let the cats out, replaced the back exit door and tossed hay to the horses. 

Shaina was rousted before 11 to tidy more of the bedrooms she has stuff piled in. I pulled sheets off Britt's bed to wash up fresh. She took a couple things to the storage trailer then was off to a spa in K country after 12. Sheldon and I made 3 pans of apple crisp using up more crab apples stored in the garage fridge. I popped them in the oven and S headed to sports room to watch Flames game after giving horses the apple trimmings. The rain started to drizzle again.

I washed up another bed, cleaned bathrooms and got things together for my hamburger soup. Yikes I needed a few things so after the overtime Sheldon ran to town at 2 to grab me a few groceries. I stayed back making up the beds, continued tidying and seeing the rain was now socked in I started a fire. S was back with the groceries and I chopped up veggies and got the soup on.

The Medicine Hat crew (Ma, Pa and Candace) arrived in the rain followed soon after by B and Coop for an afternoon of visiting which included playing the new card game five crowns. Hot soup supper was enjoyed then the fellows went to TV room to watch baseball. Dave arrived having a couple bowls of soup and joining in on card games. Shaina was back to join in as well. More card games continued when the sports guys surfaced too. Everyone went home/to bed at midnight. I finished season 3 of You before shutting out the lights.

55 years for Mom and Dad

I woke at 3:30 am hearing Harley whine but upon checking she was flat out on her bed dreaming it seems. She was then out before 7 and barking when Britt arrived to drop Cooper off after 7:30. 

They went to the garage till after I fed her early and sent them out. I made coffee and got on marketing earlier today. S got up after 9 to join in the coffee while organizing his bison kill in December. Eggs were delivered before S met a gal at the gate to sell his spare wheelbarrow tire. I worked on the pink piece finishing the gold lines and painting the knobs gold.

After lunch, S went and tossed hay to horses while I sourced a few wedding photos of Mom and Dad who celebrate 55 years today! Happy heart day! xoxo He was then off to put the lower wire along the north fence he rolled up in a bale this year after snapping it with the swather unnoticed.

Shaina was off to the gym after 3 as I was working on the headboard tutorial. I was finishing it up when S popped in for a beer break after 3:30. He helped me carry in the pink project before heading back out to work on the lower wire. He was finished and back in before 5 and soon sound asleep on the couch or should I say making sound asleep ;)

I chopped up a jar of fermented carrots seeing I was successful with sauerkraut while prepping supper. Shaina put the kitties away after eating then was off to the city. S was off to the TV room and I to the computer. Britt arrived to do her horse things which included trimming KD and Pepper, Dave arrived after 7 and he found an abscess in Biebs sore back foot. Britt soaked and poulticed it and Dave put shoes back on his front to be sure he did not get sore on them off weighting. They headed home at 8:30.

Etsy sale finally

Harley requested out early just after 3 then to the garage but of course S was up at 3:30 then 6:30 for his pee breaks which I always wake to any noises. I did wake up though at 8 to find an Etsy sale!! Finally after quite a hiatus. It was for the Latin jewelry box.

After our coffee we went and tossed hay for the horses. I took off Beibs blanket too to help grow his hair for winter on the ranch. Harley, Stella and I went for a short walk and ball chase before coming back in. S had a funny universe event after calling a place about a motorhome and when giving his name and number it turns out the salesman was a guy he played hockey with back in his youth. Oh small world! I worked on marketing and getting the jewelry box all packaged up and ready to go.

S checked out the center post on the closest horse shelter that is snapped again from rubbing horses. I suggested removing it totally so he confirmed that it would be fine and did so after lunch. Shaina popped up to get a bowl of cereal then back to work. The rental furnace needed a filter change so S ran to town to change it and drop my parcel at post office. I hemp oiled the dressers again getting ready for pick up Monday.

Shaina was off to the gym once S was back. I was still working on the pink project and continued while S jumped in the shower then headed out to access the fence project seeing the weather was so lovely out at 20 degrees

Cabbage rolls were enjoyed for supper thanks for Ma K!! I was doing a quick marketing when B arrived and requested help putting boots on Biebs. After helping her Sheldon and I went to Stouts for a visit at 7. It was a great visit as always with us back home before 11. The cats were still out not put away by either girl so I tucked them in and to bed watching some You. It is also Brendan's cake day, cheers!!
