It's B's birthday and 3 sales kinda day!!

 It’s Britt’s and Aislyn’s birthday today!! Happy cake day to my birthday week buddies. Go Taurus! I was awake before 7 again; darn internal clock. I let H out who was not a fan of the light snow so did her biz quick then to the kennel. I watched some more YouTube videos before heading out to feed her at the usual 8:30. This am I started with a golden milk while marketing and was excited to hear the cash register chime ring. It was for one of the oil paintings so I got a box and packing ready for it.

A gal had planned on stopping this am to see the round mandala coffee table and confirmed 10:15. I tidied the main floor quick, vacuumed then had Shaina help me haul it up once she was awake. Of course I had to add a coat of wax just before she arrived LOL She was right on time, loved it and had cash in hand. Her husband loaded it and after a short visit they were on their way.

Shaina made a golden milk to start her day but has found the turmeric stains her plastic braces 😬, yikes. I was working on updating the sold table when B and C arrive before 11. Shaina came up and made us a cappuccino to visit with. 

As I was enjoying another cap and catching up the blog the cash register chimed again!!! The green chalkboard this time was the lucky winner. I am most pleased with 3 sales in one day, might be my record not counting a market :)

For lunch we ran to town loading up the dogs to come along too for B's birthday shopping trip to Pet Planet. The dogs had mixed reactions; H who has been before was keen but Coop was a nervous nelly with the strangers and masks. I picked up Edo for lunch and we headed home to eat it there. It is like being in what I imagine Ireland would be on a rainy day.

Harley found it squishy in the Jetta back seat with Cooper and Shaina so managed to stretch her head into the front seat arm rest with a front leg on floor to balance

B then fed her horses and headed for town at 3 as the rain/sleet stopped and the sun came out. Shaina was working on Instagram posts and I scrambled to find a box for the latest Etsy sale. Dang it there was a perfect one in the boxes I gave away last night ;( I unboxed 2 IKEA step stools and built a secure box and got it all bubble wrapped, label printed and all taped up.

The sun did not stay out long but there was no more rain/snow. Next up I made an early supper of a tasty smoothie delivering one to Shaina then got busy bottling up my first kombucha bath and making a new batch; full size this time in my new jumbo beverage container. It is however much larger then 1 gallon so may make the worlds biggest scoby lol. I flavored the first ever kombucha batch with berry ginger. I only got 2 bottles :)

This was followed by bottling with the same flavor and making a new batch of water kefir. I rousted Shaina from her apartment to join me for a walk. It was a brisk plus 5 like yesterday when we walked, I took off Bird rain sheet as we passed. Shaina helped me put the kitties away as I took them raw venison seeing a bit early for the day. B had let them out later when she arrived seeing inclimate weather. I did a poop loop then checked the rain gauge. It says 9/10ths but has a crack so maybe more?

I did computer work taking a break to join Shaina for so homemade quac and chips. She also made a breakfast sandwich seeing our smoothie was not filling for the athlete. I have lots to catch up on including the blog but shut down at 10 as tomorrow is another day. And it should be a catch up day. Today was a great birthday and sales day!

B’s last day of 23

Usual day like clockwork; H out at 7 fed at 8:30 with me soaking horse feed while she ate then scrubbed up dishes. She and I let out the cats hoping the weather stays no snow. It is a brisk -1 with a bit of sun and mostly clouds. I was doing marketing with my cappuccino when a lovely cash register chime rang, it was the bamboo magazine rack.

I had to create a box and packaging for it. Shaina was up to make a toad in the hole and helped me tape it all together, thanks. B and Coop were out around 11:30, her first project was to clean a new to her leather halter she bought for Roo's birthday. Roo is 4 next week. Shaina was off to the gym not long after.

I wasn't fast enough to get the picture below but all 3 cats and 2 dogs were milling around the horses, very cute.

I ground flax for B, she fed the horses then trimmed Bird's feet. A paint parcel was delivered by the courier to be opened later. I wanted to make yet another healthy beverage; turmeric golden milk but first I had to make the turmeric paste.

This recipe for turmeric paste is; 1/2 cup turmeric, 1 cup water, 1 tsp each cinnamon, ground pepper and ginger. Simmer till paste store in glass jar in fridge or freeze if not using all in 2 weeks.

To make the golden milk below; add 1 tsp paste to your milk of choice with sweetener of choice (I chose honey) and warm thru; Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.

Shaina returned before 3 bringing us Tims, thanks Dude!! She was then off to shower. B came in before 4 as I was heating up my first cup of golden milk. She hit the couch to cruise the net then was off home around 4:30 to have supper made for her. Time to open the paint package. This is a bonus package of new products worth $750 US... this is why I do all the tutorials and marketing for them :)

For supper I cooked up a Hello Fresh dinner; pan seared porkchops. I adapted it a bit adding cabbage and roasting the potatoes, it was yummy.

After supper Shaina wanted me to see her new standing desk all set up. This led to rearranging Kaylin’s bedroom to make it much more organized and less cluttered. A refreshing workspace now.

I went to put the kitties away around 7:30. Shaina came out and we took H for a walk to the west then she headed in. H and I played ball after retrieving from the pasture then searched for the pink ball which I eventually found under the low deck where Lola had a den. Poop pickup kept me busy for the next little while waiting for a couple to stop out and pick up the stack of boxes I had acquired.

Once picked up I headed in where Shaina was making popcorn and I golden milk for our movie night. We watched Unhinged in her apartment :) It was a an ok movie but had lots of WTH moments we did not find plausible. I headed to bed after and perused You Tube for awhile.

Birthdays supper celebration

It was like a baby sleeping thru the night for the first time; I kept waking to hear her. Eventually I went out at 7 to find her relaxing on the step to let her out to do her biz then back in before feeding her an hour later. She and I then went and let the kitties out as today looks ok, sunny but brisk so far. I did the usual marketing with my caps. Then staged the cabinet again.

Snow squalls started at 11:30 and continued off and on all day; again no accumulation. Of course it was lightly snowing when the gal picked up her cabinet at noon. I then got my water kefir bottled in my new bottles after scrubbing them and flavored it lemon ginger. A new batch was made and all set aside to ferment again.

Leftover lunch while watching the news. Shaina popped up and heated the leftover sausage quinoa just before her 1 pm call. I wrote the dining set tutorial then shared on sites and sent to sponsors. The Dixie Belle email takes awhile as all items used need to be listed and photos and videos but it is worth it I guess. All snow stopped a a bit of sun pushed thru the clouds mid afternoon. Shaina headed to town around 3:30 to the gym, grab groceries for the birthday supper, drop off my Etsy parcel finally and leave a box of hello fresh ice packs at the gate a fellow was picking up.

I made the horse food then went out to take Bird's blanket off. While doing so I static shocked Switch not once but twice, poor girl. H got a short walk and I did a poop scoop loop then inside. I made a pan of puffed wheat squares for the birthday supper.

I was working on tutorials when Kaylin, Devon and the dogs arrived around 5. We visited until Shaina was back with her groceries and started prepping supper. She made us all shrimp tacos and very tasty at that. THANK YOU!!!

Britt and Cooper arrived after she was home from work. Lexi got her cytopoint shot for her itchy allergies, thanks nurse B.

and her eye is healing well but the left eye is starting to get a bit more cloudy ;( K has made an appointment to go back to the ophthalmologist early May.

After a delicious meal and dessert we played cards.

Kaylin and her crew loaded up and headed home before 10. I put the cats away and gave offal. Britt and Coop headed home not long after then Shaina hit the tub. Thanks for the great evening girls!! XOXO

It's earth day!

It's earth day! I am a good steward of earth recycling anything we can, repurposing & reusing things many times and then saving pieces of furniture and home decor as my daily job. Remember there is only 1 earth. We all have to do our part.

H did not want to go out at 7 today as the arctic wind was blowing so she waited for Cooper to arrive at 7:45. Britt brought Shaina and I a tea, thanks then she was off. The dogs went out for a very short jaunt then back in to the kennels. I enjoyed my tea while marketing a bit then the dogs and I went to start painting the custom cabinet after removing hardware.  But first I had to get the bloody stickers off, sheesh Homesense why??

The first coat was then brushed on. 

While I had the med gray I added it to the vases I started a few weeks back.

While these all dried, I recut the bouquet stems and put them all together. 

This is the pretty bouquet from B and the sweet little plant I am trying to ID, do you know what it is?

Etsy was refreshed and some expired ads renewed. I got out this vintage hand painted German pepper grinder deciding to try and sell as is so staged pictures and started the ad.

I came in before lunch to make my 2 caps, pretty slow on that today. I wrote a tutorial for the teal table from way back for Hometalk. The snow let up off and on after lunch but the wind continued. I went back out and painted another coat of grey and worked on the vases some more. The hardware was spray painted as well.

Throughout the day I did some vacuuming and some dog laundry. Later the cabinet was clear and dark waxed. The snow finally stopped and the sun even peeked out for a bit. There was no real accumulation and it hovered around zero all day. I put the hardware on the cabinet and hauled in to do touch ups and stage a few pics.

I helped Shaina film some videos as I cooked supper. B joined us after 6:30. After supper B went to feed the horses and check on the cats who spent the day inside today before she and coop headed home. She had picked up new cobalt blue bottles in Airdire for me on the way home from work, THANK YOU. I opened them and love them.

Time to get some blog catchup while watching some Netflix. Shaina made popcorn yet again and off to the tub. I shut down the computer work after 10 heading to bed to watch Netflix, Harley was snoring in the garage still on her bed not interested in getting up so will see how she fares in her first overnight garage sleep.
