18 degrees and all horses trimmed!

They said on the news today will be the nicest day this week and it sure started out a beauty. I have plans to dig my potatoes today and do other last minute fall tidy but first it was a shower then marketing catch up with my cappuccino. I then headed out to start work on a big project. I chose the oak dining table Sharon called. Seeing the day was so nice I opened the garage door, stripped and sanded the entire top down. Two hours went fast when the sun is shining and you are making progress. B pulled in at 1 as I was was doing last minute touch ups and brought an ice cap!! thanks B <3

We went out to give Hawk his pills, this time dissolving in water and dosing him which seemed to work well. We caught Bird and took her in to stain her eye to check for the ulcer. Roo came along of course. Dr B found the pin point ulcer and was happy to see it was improving.

then applying the stain and found the ulcer

This led to their brushing and me catching Switch to trim her feet inside as so warm out which led to Daisy's feet too. It was a gorgeous 18 degree day!!! B collected stool samples from Roo and Daisy - the biggest butt scratchers to take back and do a fecal count on. Pepper and KD were the next 2 to come in and get their spa day. Thanks to Britt for helping by picking feet and rasping on the stand, she is getting to be a great help on this back wrenching chore. The last few weeks of fog and mist made for nice soft feet to work with which was another blessing.

apprentice and the clean up boss

B decided we needed a break so it was time to move onto my potato harvest. I did convince her to come help me do that too and in an hour we had all the potato hills dug and a few more plants pulled and the garden looking much tidier. Cooper and Lola were off to bark at the lady who was collecting all the posts Sheldon had pulled on the south fence. My carrot harvest was impeded with all the potato plants - another learning curve lesson but the horses enjoyed the baby carrots and tops.

I even managed to snap the handle on my garden fork, I did say while digging I needed a proper garden fork so guess it is on the list for sure now. There were a few that got stabbed while we harvested so I scrubbed them up for supper with fresh carrots.

broke fork, and the harvest

Before heading off after 6 B started to hose out the recycle bins she picked up but decided they need more work then she had time so we quadded out to the horses. She dosed Bird's eye again and drew Hawk's blood for his cushing test then was off to the lab to test her samples before going home. She found Daisy had no worms and Roo needs 5 days of treatments. Good work B.

She had given me a leg up and I rode Hawk back, the last fellow to have his feet trimmed. I was already seizing up but felt better to get them all done before I was wrenched ;) He is such a good boy and stood alone quietly while I quickly got him trimmed and released.

and this was the sky for the entire night and even when dark. soooo pretty

While I waited for Lola to run her perimeter check I wet distressed the frame I am slowly working on. Time for a cold beer and a hot soak in the tub and watch season 2 of Atypical for the night! And yes I finished season 2 before shutting my eyes. What a productive day, thanks B for your help XOXO

this was last nights sky I forgot to add to the blog post but have done so now

catch up day

Today is a catch up day, catch up a little sleep and rest for some ;) and marketing for others. Lance's wedding post was much easier seeing I forgot my camera ;( The horses were all sleeping near the house, S took this picture. I went out and gave Hawk his pill and tried to get Bird's eye meds in.

The jewelry box had a few pics taken and I added another coat of blue to the frame in the garage.

A wee bit of rain marked the window briefly before lunch. I did go out after it passed to take a couple pics of Bird's eye and put more drops in.

S woke from his morning nap at 1 and prepped for heading north eventually leaving after 2. I staged a few more photos of the vintage bar case and got a post for it on My Etsy store done up along with the red S&P set on there as well as Varage.

I also need catch up of photos I missed, Sheldon took these of the day he filled in part of the trench and moved gravel back with the skidsteer last week

I wrote a blog post for the salt and pepper sets I recently painted up. The day reached almost 10 but was so blustery. Another rain squall rolled thru briefly at 6 then the wind let up at least. I wrote up 3 more how to blogs and will post over the week. While doing so I started another series on Netflix called Atypical and finished the first season by the time I turned out the lights. (Ok they are only 30 min each and 8 episodes in the season)

another record sale ;)

A relaxing morning with coffee and a visit with Candace. Shaina and Jacob slept the morning away finally getting up just before 1 as Candace was off. We got stuff tidied up and loaded and were off stopping at Tim's on our way west around 1:30.

B sent this pic of all the ponies napping

Britt was still at the house when we arrived 2 hours later having taken care of the animals. Bird seems to have injured her eye so she stayed to give me medication instructions. Jacob and Shaina were off soon after we got home and Britt a bit after loading up her treasures from Grama's we brought back for her. Thanks for the pet care B!

I got busy staging and snapping photos while S watched Tiger win his first tournament since 1876 days ago.

the ebony stain looks more cappuccino inside now but still a pretty look

I posted the latest S&P set in beach glass and they sold in just over half an hour! I dark waxed the jewelry box and reattached the hardware, it is good to go. I finally am able to post the wedding sign blog post too.

S made is famous KD, sausage and creamed corn special for supper and we just relaxed for the evening. We tried another Peaky Blinders after a soak in the hot tub but have decided it really is not captivating to either of us. Now the Nature of Things "Equus" special was interesting and we enjoyed watching it. To round out the nights viewing pleasure we watched The Boss.

Lance’s wedding

We set a leave the house by 10 and managed to be heading out the gate with one minute to spare. Snow seemed to have landed north and east of us but we lucked out and only had freezing rain, the deck was very slippery, cars looked shiny and all my planters were ice covered when I pullled one in to the garage when we pulled the car out.

Even though we had coffee prior to leaving, Shaina was hungry so we whipped into Brooks on our way to the Hat. She and Jacob got soup and beverage to hold them over for a bit, Sheldon and I settled for a tea and donut. I remembered on the highway I forgot my good camera in the loading up process ;(

Arriving at Grama and Papa (they just left for Spain yesterday) we all quickly got dressed for the wedding. The rustic grey table was picked up too. Hustling out the door by 1 and taking a round about route to the wedding ceremony, we made it just in time once again ;) It was a lovely ceremony even though moved inside due to the inclimate weather.

Having some time before the evening events at 7 we headed back to the “quest house” for a beer and crib. Auntie Candace joined us for a great catch up. After 5 we were all off, she to a hockey game and us to eat at the Beefeater. The beef Neptune was good but not as amazing as my memory thought.

Our next stop was the ceremony where we enjoyed the next 7 hours. This young man holds a special place in my heart and being part of his big day was an honor. It was a lovely country decor with hand made wooden coasters and burlap wild flower seed packs as the take home gifts.

Dang cell camera, I took 2 pics both with poor Jacobs eyes near closed.. my bad. Words from Shaina, always check your pics.. dang!

Dancing and socializing till about 1 am when I drove us safely back to our AirBNB.
