Xmas eve eve ;)

The custom ruler pick up was a bit early at 9:30 as I was trying to get some IN posts ready. The gal was pleased, loaded it up and on her way.

I then made a trip to town for last minute things including salt for the horses, few last groceries and gifts (I think I am all good now) and some flowers. Yes tulips, some of my favorite and to think at Christmas time, so pretty.

The weather was crazy all day with snow and off and on, going to town the sun was coming out but coming home the snow was coming down and wind blowing. Once home I ran to the barn, hauled a bale out for the horses, fed the cat and hauled a bucket of wood back. I think my lungs were froze as my chest was sore but it calmed down in a bit. And I started a nice fire for the blustery day.

Britt arrived around 2. I was making a Japanese salad but after done I headed out to help her give Roo her booster and fix her back foot chip and haul another load of wood in. She scrubbed Bird's foot and redressed before putting them out and coming back in. She and I then worked on some puzzles. The first one was done in less then an hour but the next one was a bit harder as the pieces fit sometime in two places ;(

I made hamburger soup while the puzzled, perfect for a stormy day. It was now quite stormy again. Grady and Caleb stopped for a quick visit at 7:30 picking Britt up to head to some Christmas parties. I gave Lola her dewormer when I got her in which ended up with half all on me but hope it got some in. We had given Lexi hers earlier and had similar issues but hers was a tablet not liquid.

Kaylin and Shaina went to the Keg for supper and shared this yummy looking steak before Shaina came to Strathmore to celebrate with friends.

I worked on the puzzle in front of the fire till about 9 then Lexi and I snuggled up with some YoutTube how to videos. I awoke a few times to see if B needed a ride but at 2:45 she confirmed staying in town with sister Shaina at Kate's so off wen the Xmas lights and back to sleep.

This and That day

I woke before the sun came up and text Britt who was on her way to do lab work before her dr appt before heading to work, busy B. I listened to a podcast till the sun rose then got coffee and on with my day. There was lots of this and that prepping for Christmas.

Laundry was on the go with another bed being remade with fresh sheets, parcels sorted and bagged, and the hand painting done on the tub shelf to name a few.

In the afternoon I worked on the table adding black wax to soften and bring out details.

half done above and all below

thanks to my 4 Xmas cards senders.. every year I can count on you

A huge part of my day was spent writing the Christmas letter. I was actually going to skip it this year but last night Spider text to see if I missed sending it to her ;) Awe, someone does read it so after 2 hours I had it written. We really did have yet another eventful year. Yes there was a good dose of sadness but there was lots of good too. I procrastinated the photo page (because I have so many to look thru) but seeing I love pictures so much, I got busy with it too and after almost another 2 hours had it done. Now to send out to friends and family .

After my left over leftover soup supper I was once again outside trying to fix the faulty timer on the Xmas lights but just plugged straight in until the electrician comes to figure the malfunction. I gave both tub shelves a good coat of poly on both sides to add more durability to the wet life it may encounter ;)

I made up a treat tray for the w/e

Mom turns 70!

Today Mom turns 70, and still happily riding! Happiest of birthday wishes Momma!

Snow came down throughout the day mostly just lightly but by supper a bit heavier. The day was spent working on marketing which included using the subscription emails to send Christmas wishes. Tracking Etsy packages had most arriving by Christmas but one not and one not even checked in, good old Canada Post.

Mid afternoon I headed out to the table, I went with poly to seal the milk paint and again managed to flip it to do the underside in 2 coats and back so the top got its second too. The stained tub board received a coat each side and brought in to hand paint tomorrow.

I did trudge out thru the piles of snow to reset the Christmas lights, brr the weather is really seasonal again ;/. I trouble shot the sink disposal, sent an email to the company and in half an hour they called me! And by end of conversation they are sending a new one, great company Eco Logic.

see the thin rubber seal pulling away about half way down..

Yes one bag is empty and the other not far behind, this stuff is like crack I am guessing cause once you start you cannot stop!

this was my homage to Mom's birthday .. she loves bubble baths, rum and egg nog and The Queen (cause she is British) Happy cake day again Mother

Lots more ad reposts and online updating with Netflix and The Crown before moving to soak in the tub while watching. Time to strip the bed, put on fresh sheets and read my book. Almost half done, what am I going to take on vacation.

Winter arrived for Christmas

SNOW was abundant when I awoke. There was lots, have a look.

I boxed up all 4 sets of rustic peppermint sets to take to town, the gal who ordered two sets took them all, thanks Jacqueline. I unloaded the dresser and thrift store scores ready to pick up my auction wins and after 10 I was headed to town to do just that.

First stop was to grab Vikings season 4 from a friend for Britt to catch up with before making a quick loop on the west side to pick up my wins and drop the rustic sets off. The one fellow was not home after 2 tries so I headed to the hospital for my blood work appointment. That sure makes getting testing done fast, I was in and out in no time. Now onto a drive thru bank deposit and more shopping of last minute gifts, groceries and booze; the essentials of the season. I grabbed Edo for late lunch and the mail on the way home.

Yeah the drive out with no ditches to mark the road had me right on track.

And to boot the sun now came out at 1:30 as I pulled in and enjoyed my Edo. On to unloading the car and present final sorting.

Shaina stopped around 4:30 after her trainee never showed for her session and was soon off to train Sharon. Seeing she had to leap her way thru the mounds of snow I went out and pushed it all from deck and sidewalk. It was so light and fluffy. Next I made homemade broccoli cheese soup for us having it ready when she returned in an hour. It is very yummy!

She had to eat, rustle up some Xmas wrapping and head to boot camp not long after 6. Scandal and I got busy writing up a blog post for the black chair and todays then it was on to reading my book
