frames galore and framing

Sheldon had a later flight today so got to sleep in an extra hour. I was awake at 8 to a brisk day and froze water bucket for the dogs, brrrr. Coffee was perfect way to start the day though it is hard on painting later ;) Shaina grabbed a cup on her way to work for 10.

I love reassemble day, first order today was insert the chalkboard pieces, affix with glazier points, add D hooks and stage for a few pictures. It then got posted too as ready to roll.

details close up
A frame I chalk boarded the center got 2 coats of primer red, the wedding frame got another coat of navy, Marissa's another coat of parchment and the mirror frame for the black dresser finally got a coat of black.

I ran to the gate on the quad as FedEx said they had a parcel card there but no luck. I dropped in to meet Tim the hired man and feed the cats, chatty fellow for sure but was working on the middle wall today. I finally tracked down the parcel and Shaina was kind enough to grab it after work, actually she forgot Kaylin's coat and her hard drive so was coming back anyway. I walked the dogs and met her at the gate and WHAT.. she brought me a hot pumpkin spice tea and another parcel (yep Bell PVR #6) THANKS Shaina! <3<3<3
Sunny but brisk with the wind +10,  I was out again applying my EO salve for miss Bird before the mirror frame got flipped and backside painted. Tim (the hired man) was off at 4:30 so I headed out to snap progress pics
this was one of the two light boxes Sheldon installed Saturday
 above right top was finished
and the center wall from either side
hoping this is just not nailed in straight yet ;)
Back in the garage I started sealing my projects, love it when it all starts wrapping up to show the end results! Then it was on to accounting and marketing with a cup of tea, and a bowl of rice pudding ;)

hired man arrives

Today was a big day for the Prince, he got a hired man that builds without his help. He was up before 8 turning on coffee pot then catching up on news. The fellow arrived just after 8:30 and the prep talk began and soon he was underway. This allowed Sheldon to come back and finish his coffee and give me a hand trying to reassemble Kaylin's mirror frame. In the end I think it is just to flimsy to invest into a chalkboard ;(.

Not long and the clay/sand scout was out for a consult. This is in the works now so things had to be moved around the shop doors to allow big trucks to pull in and out and dump.

I worked on quite a few projects; the old frame got buffed up, all the chalkboard centers and a frame got 3 coats of paint throughout the day, Marissa's frame got first coat of paint as did the wedding frame. I moved in my planters too as this am was -1.

guess I will still have flowers for awhile while I work
the black dresser mirror frame got a good scrubbing and left to dry, see the red dye, that stuff washed off the whole thing
another frame with built in photo got 3 coats of chalkboard paint too
I out in a  chicken to roast for supper as Sheldon ran to town for more supplies. Kaylin and Aaron stopped and moved her box springs into storage trailer, had a brief visit, Sheldon was back in time to say hi too, then were off. (He brought a hot tea too, thank you!!)
hired man progress for the day.. the tops of the walls and partial kick wall bottom right shown above
Shaina was staying again after her shift ended at 5, she arrived just in time for full fledged chicken supper but wait, as Sheldon was unloading his wood he found he bought wrong plywood so back to town he went. It was an hour before he returned but supper tasted sooooo good , must have been the wait.

The wind blew in after super and turned cold, it did hit 12 today which was ok. Shaina ran back to town to visit with Jenna then returned for family movie night in the king bed, tonight's feature... SPY! ;)

Sister day

Today is my sister day, Amanda and I are off to the Women's Show in the city. I won tickets thru Alberta Dames Shindig portion of it and who better to take then my lil sis! I met her at the gate and we were off before 11. The day was full of things to see and many to taste. I managed to find a few treasures to bring home. Her highlight was getting her hand henna'd ;)
ponies napping in the sun as I headed out
so much jewelry but had to look at earthstones and silver.. so pretty
they even had a pen of puppies giving out kisses.. cute heh Britt? ;)

We stopped at Home Depot to restock my wood and tried for Costco but the lines were crazy so detoured to Micheal's, grabbed a tea and dry old cookie from Tims and was back home around 4:30. Great day sister, thanks for coming with me!!

Back at home, Sheldon was in his PJ pants preparing for the Flames game after spending a lovely day in the TV room catching up on football and baseball games.

shop tidy

Shaina was off for work at 9, coffee and lazy start for us two. By 11 though we were headed out in the sunshine plus 12 day. First order was pulling the pumps from the 2 tanks and putting away for the winter. I watered my remaining flowers in the beds and planters too and scooped some dog crap in keeping with fall cleanup. I even had 4 full pea pods to harvest in my garden and they are still blooming! I got the last of my zucchini the other day before I pulled the plants but really, end of October!!
We then made a huge dent in the shop moving, tossing and tidying. I posted the 20 bottom bales for free and they were called in no time and picked up just after we had a late lunch.

pallets & bales gone ready for clay and sand

better day shot of my handiwork
 views from the mez
I worked on tidying up the mez and deconstructed one of the big cabinets while Sheldon drilled thru the walls above the doors for the light fixtures and ran wire ready to install. I even used the table saw and cut all the boards neatly from the cabinet for suture use! Once we both done, time to load the trash we had accumulated in the truck and off to town Sheldon went to the dump with it and to grab a couple supplies. He brought back tea too, THANKS!

I stayed home and got back to work on the old frame doing my "sally" treatment on it and scraping, scrubbing sanding another frame that has been ordered for a wedding. For Bird, I made up a new essential oil mix in coconut oil this time and applied while she stood patiently in the field.
Sheldon has been trying to peg off the pesky magpies with not much luck but tonight he tried "gun thru the crack of the door" routine, 3 shots = 3 magpies down.. but it was not long and 2 were back up so he had to go outside to finish his project.
originally all 3 were right below the one post.. each one went to the same spot, dummies!
He had ordered his favorite creamed chicken for supper which was delicious ;) Time for a hot tub for our sore muscles and relax time. We have put in some pretty good days checking lots off our lists! I did have to get on and send pictures in for polocrosse calendar so updated blog for last 3 days too ;)
