family day continues

Another sunny Sunday, it was a bit of a late sleep in for all. Kaylin popped in to say she was off to town with Gail for breakfast at 10 as I was checking my ipad. I was to meet a gal in town so got hat arranged for noon but added another stop too so Sheldon and I were off around 11;30 with the truck and dump trailer. Shaina and Britt stayed sleeping.

The first stop was mass confusion and eventually we left to meet next lady. It seems the first gal put 112 instead of 212 for her house number, DUH yes hard to find so after grabbing groceries while meeting the gal at Walmart we ventured back to the correct address. Now loaded up with more projects we were off to the ranch making a stop at the neighbors who borrowed the skid steer. Sheldon was pleasantly surprised to find the inside all detailed even the floor mats spiffy and a couple bottles of Bacardi black along with a very generous gift card for Joeys restaurant, wow, thanks guys, we will sure enjoy that.

Back at the ranch, Shaina and Kaylin were hanging out in our bed while Britt rousted and had a shower even. We all had lunch before Shaina, Britt and I caught horses to ride. Trotting did not make Britt feel well after she had come around so once home, she fed Bird and went back to bed not to be seen till supper time.

Kaylin had ran to town with Aaron and Seth and returned to pick up Shaina after the ride. Sheldon harrowed the 2 hay fields while we rode and after. While he finished up I sorted horses into their spring/summer paddocks. After sorting all 7 I changed my mind and had to switch 4 of them. Now all should be good for while. I watered trees and washed saddle pads while unloading my new scores.

Time to make tacos for supper. Britt was now up with the living but ate and was back downstairs as we grabbed rakes and walked the dogs to the gate. Time for a dreaded job of raking all the gravel pushed during snow plowing onto the grass. Good team work had us done in not long. Sheldon repaired my lawnmower tire so I can get busy this week while I updated my creative moments stock to paint album and did some more quotes before we both retired to bed to relax and enjoy some TV with Science of Stupid.

Britt is 18!!

Holy cow, the big day has arrived, for Britt anyway! She came bounding excitedly into our room just after 9, early for a Saturday she doesn't work ;) Coffee with Baileys as now a legal drinker started our day, Sheldon made the mistake of dumping his full cup everywhere with a big clean up his Saturday start.
Britt opened presents and was VERY excited to have a lump to add to her car fund. I tidied up before clients arrived to consider the coffee table, they took it within minutes of viewing. They also brought a cedar trunk for a relove and have an antique dresser they hope to bring later as well. They are the parents of the most recent tall antique dresser/jewel box purchase. Nice to have word of mouth business. Julie, my picker gal stopped with a couple treasures too.

Sheldon's morning consisted of still working on taxes but he took a break to make us girls grilled cheese for lunch, thanks then he moved on to nap time while Britt perused the car ads ;) and I worked on the blog and put dark wax on the pepper grinder to finish it up.
Once all were ready it was off to town, first stop the liquor store to make first purchase (creamer for Mom ;) then get a lotto ticket, she is feeling lucky. Tonight the Flames play a big game so we opted to eat in the bar and keep the same table, Gail was first to meet us followed by Kaylin, Aaron and sister Shaina. Food, fun and a big win followed with Flames coming back from 3-0 to win 7-4. Aaron was off after the game but Britt managed to check off 22 drinks/shots with us heading home just after midnight.

fist liquor store purchase, lotto ticket and below drink.. a peach bellini

 her drink tally

The athletes needed food so mashed potatos/gravy and ichiban were on the menu while the birthday girl felt the ill affects of her evening and after cratering to the wont be sick rule, she spent her birthday night curled up on the main floor bathroom :) Seems she had a very successful 18th! Love ya B!! Welcome to adult life.

birthday lunch

Britt had Thursday schedule today so another sleep in for her but she was off for school as I was putting the 2nd coat on the door, this coat went much faster than the tedious task yesterday. I had it finished in an hour. Prince Ali slept in till almost 10, perhaps procrastinating his list of chores or moaning the Flames loss, not sure.
Scanning baby photos followed for me before getting ready to head to town for my birthday lunch with Sharon & Coreena. Sheldon drank coffee and worked on taxes. Lunch was awesome as usual, always fun catching up with these girls. I miss our daily coffee catch ups.
Following lunch I picked up a new piece and the new bell PVR before venturing back home where Sheldon was in process of moving a support beam closer to the wall.

My afternoon was spent continuing the scanning process of photos. As well the pepper grinder got first wax coat on after 2nd coat of paint earlier in the day and the doors got a couple more touch ups. I had put in a prime rib roast for supper and once home from school on the start of a few days off, Britt peeled potatoes to go with it. She also was kind enough to feed all the pets.
Sheldon ran the skid steer to a neighbor to borrow, then got a new post dug and the gate installed ready for action. Supper was amazing, so delish!

The day was quite cool and mostly overcast but they say colder tomorrow ;( After supper was a complete relax night for Sheldon and Britt, I finished up with Britt's baby-12 pictures and posted on Facebook finally heading to bed after 11:30.

procrastination no longer

sunshine with just a tige of wind was the start today. Britt was off to her late start Thursday while I was doing CM marketing. I put another coat of wax on Sharon's piece and snapped a few pics before starting a pepper grinder in the same green since I had the brush and paint out.
I did look out window in passing to see Houdini Pepper was out again grazing in the yard. This cowboy up challenge lover had not problem wrangling his way thru Sheldon's make shift repair with hot wire remnants. Sheldon fixed the pole after he got home around 1:30 from his sleepover and costco run. I planted up the 13 little trees and watered the front beds deep again.

Time to scrub the front door and do a job I have been procrastinating on for 3 years, the next 3 hours were spent staining it with the java gel stain. What a pain, never again will I not get a real wood door if I want a stained look; Far to finicky!!

Sheldon worked on installing the new pasture gate but found he did not measure correctly and it will not shut! Oh MY, now what, and he did not install the one here where his previous wood ones that are not holding up sit as he apparently needs to dig in a new pole. He came in and worked on taxes for a bit while watching me paint.
The desk/chair customer returned for another chair and the nightstand, THANK YOU! Supper was simple bacon tomato sandwiches followed by a walking of the dogs. It also entailed picking yet more bale mesh as we went along, soon it should be clean. By the time we returned it was nearing Flames game time so in lounge clothes for the Prince and soon Matt was over to join him for the game. Me, I updated the blog/CM page and hit the tub.

Britt was home from work just after 9 and brought my birthday cheesecake to me as I was playing candy crush in bed and we chowed it down, YUMMY. Matt headed home and Sheldon was off to bed after Calgary was defeated 2-1 ;(
