914 - beauty day for projects

day 914 the interrupted sleep night continued, with coyotes and Diego howling around 3, some updates dinging on Sheldon's phone at 6 and Matt arriving to use skid steer at 7:30, I decided best wake up and watch more breaking bad.. with a  fancy coffee
guess who was checking the new gate

At 10 we got up and on with the day as loads of gravel started to arrive. Sheldon ran to town for more gate parts, today is the big gate off the winter pasture to the road. I got working on the hutch polying the entire thing.

wallpaper planned for the project and the hardware sprayed in the sunshine as well
Britt went to work after a very lazy day so far. Shaina kindly walked the day, again another gorgeous amazing fall day nearing the 20 mark. This is to be short lived they keep threatening, fingers crossed they are wrong but to be on safe side I took my mini roses into garage and potted spirea.
Gail stopped out late in the afternoon and her and Shaina rode then she got ready and left around 630 to pick up a friend and off to the flames game. Sheldon finished up putting the 2 big gates together before we had a yum steak supper and watched Netflix!

913 - head cold go away

Day 913 was a better sleep for all but my head cold seemed worse when I woke, UGH. A big semi and trailer stopped early to deliver our replacement tub for quad trailer. Sheldon delivered hot coffee and creamer in bed which helped to take the edge off, tylenol and cold fx too. Today is flex Friday so Britt enjoyed a sleep in along with Shaina.

I took a couple pictures of the desk and chair inside and posted
It was then time to get to work painting my hutch and buffet black. Sheldon ran to town for gate parts and groceries. He was kind enough to be a personal shopper at the rummage sale. He scored me a pedestal table but had liked a rocking chair and poo pooed a mirror with frame saying looked old which once I saw the picture wished I would have seen prior to his leaving. This is huge folks as he usually complains about the furniture stock in the garage. Thanks dear! (but the mirror would  have been awesome)

My frame winner and custom sign girl stopped to pick up her treasures. It is nice to see things go to such excited customers. I received a reply from the vets to an email I sent about swollen nodes on the horses necks and she wanted temperatures so both girls came out and helped me take temperatures on most of the horses. All seemed normal so think we will just keep an eye on them at this point.
Sheldon arrived home and after a quick lunch I was back out painting, Sheldon started his gate project, Shaina left for work and Britt disappeared. I did convince her to go fill mineral tubs, take dogs for a walk and check the cat house. The day was gorgeous yet again with high of 16 and no wind and lots of sun.. ahhhh the good life.
gate progress
 then Britt helps hang
Pepper is non too impressed with this new installation
Britt works her muscles to remove the old useless system
 and the drilling begins
Britt uses her level in her new IPHONE 5
but it seems like my furniture, hanging fences has a learning curve and mistakes too
 so another hole is drilled
and they seem to look ok
but minor adjustments are needed and the horses are right there to check out the workmanship
The evening was spent watching breaking bad after a hot soak in the tub to try and steam away my cold. Britt headed out to a party getting home by 1 and Shaina came home after work, changed and headed back to town at 10 and home after 2. Needless to say my sleep was very disrupted yet another night.

912 - fabulous thift score day

Day 912 was another long night. Just before midnight the king of cracking the gate lock had the entire herd thundering out of captivity at just before midnight. Knowing the gate to the highway was closed we let them stay out. Sheldon of course could not sleep by then so tossed and turned and his phone gave alerts at 6 am.. grr not the way to start the day but the sun was shining and today was rummage sale.

I snuck away from work to check for treasures and had a wee bit of luck.
all this for just over $40, Thank you United Church volunteers for your hard work and Strathmore community for your great donations
mirror, lazy susans, my fav white dishes and a pretty vase for Kaylin
medalta pottery, paint, stain, nut crackers, ice tongs, frames and mirrors, stools and magazine rack
On the way back to work I stopped and bought the gals a piping cup of hot pumpkin latte tea, YUMMY. At lunch we walked, it was sunny but a bit windy but by after work it was fantastic. A beautiful 19 degree day!! I stopped to find a few more treasures at the church sale before heading home.

Sheldon had appointments in the city this morning, one of them with his knee surgeon, it has been 5 years! He had loaded 5 bales and went to deliver as Britt and I got home.

Shaina worked, I am sure many were out golfing on a day like this. Britt had me go out and do a photo shoot of her and her trusty steed pepper. I decided to pick the last of my harvest and good thing, the naughty ponies had ate off all the carrot tops!
this horse has the patience of Job, he will put up with anything she does and never move but he is the mastermind of all escape pen plans!
the top soil view, ignore all horse tracks, still has an Indian village feel ;-)
Britt worked with Bird for a bit in the lovely evening while I scrubbed veggies. But as we were about to eat I saw the horses trot out in the field and this was after I did up the fence.. seems Houdini Pepper needs a new solid gate. Britt got the quad and chased them for a bit while Diego and I tried to get close then I tried but one person and 9 horses does not work well in the middle of 70 acres so I gave up.
I came back and waxed the sign so ready to be picked up tomorrow
Sheldon grabbed black outlets in the city.. better than white?? or try paint grey?

911 - sleepy day Sheldon

Day 911.. I was on the road to town before 8 to a dental appointment in town! I was finished, stopped at Walmart for more wallpaper, ink cartridge and milk and then stopped at Tims to get Sheldon and I breakfast. Fancy, hot sausage biscuit, hash brown and pumpkin spice tea surprise and good way to start the day.

For me it was a morning of accounting while both Coco and Sheldon snored on the couch. He did meet a cement guy for a quote but managed to get back to sleep.

In the afternoon I had him help me move the desk and chair inside before I went out to check hutch repairs, sort and put away treasures. I also hand painted another custom sign and glazed it.
A fellow stopped to pick up more of his bale he had pre paid then it was back to the tablet and iphone for S.

Shaina did not have to work her shift today so occasionally surfaced to grab something, once Britt got home from school, Sheldon drove them to Matt's to bring the last 3 ponies home. The rode bareback but said it was a bit breezy on the ears. Today's high was only about 10 but tomorrow they say back to 20.. they also say 2 for Sunday!
 bare backing sisters
and Baby as she ran by
 and Daisy
 and Bird
look Shaina can still text and ride
cheese.. old trusty Pepper looking like a rock star
Here is one of the stainless outlet plates put on.. what do you think.. need black center, grey?
Gail stopped out to visit Shaina and was sweet enough to bring me a chai tea, THANKS GAIL!! She also had a chance to check out the salt and pepper shakers she was bidding on as the auction ends tonight at 8. Once she headed home Shaina kindly did dog poop patrol before taking the puppies for a well needed walk.
We all enjoyed one of the last few barbecue hamburger suppers together before I updated the blog, girls hit there respective TV and laptop movies and Sheldon snored on the couch, pretty sure someone will not be sleeping tonight
he did crack open his birthday gift from Amanda, homemade cowboy jalapenos and loved them, Thanks sister!!
