760 - gorgeous sunny Sunday

Day 760 was a beauty weather day. Shannon was up and gone by 8 and I was up at 9, everyone else was later. It was so nice I tried to get all outside. Britt and Hannah did go get horses to graze my grass down after I fed them. I moved hay and trimmed trees, scooped poop and yard work before I got on the mower and spent a few hours mowing the miles of grass. I also pulled hailed out trees, moved others to. Sheldon worked on picking rocks in the winter pasture. We both got a ton done.
the new growth on the crab tree.. this is one of few that have leaves :-(
Britt and Hannah played with  the kittens and hung out before Rhonda picked her up after lunch. Shaina was off by 11 for work and home at 3:30 but not feeling well (self induced) so spent rest of the day in her room. Around 4 I forced Britt out to pick horse poop in the skinny pasture. She begrudgingly went and soon had many piles Sheldon helped her pick up with the quad and trailer. it looked so nice!!

Julio obviously does not care if it was electric
Sheldon and I got a pile of work done before coming in to prepare supper. Matt was joining us for sausage on the new Barbie. It was such a beautiful evening we spent most of it on the deck. Grant stopped by after supper and joined the deck party. It was an enjoyable night that ended with the fellows playing pool before heading home and to bed.

759 - 3 1/4" of rain

Day 759 was overcast when we awoke but the rain had stopped. Sheldon checked the gauge and it totalled 3 1/4" of rain in the last few days. That should start the hay growing when the sun comes out. I spent the day working on furniture projects. I even tried milk paint for the first time.

Mom came out about 1:30 enjoyed lunch with us and quick visit before making her way home after helping at Amanda's for 10 days. Shaina left for work for 2 to close. Sheldon made his task the new barbeque assembly. It even required a nap after lunch due to its complexity.

Sun came out at 3 Britt removed horse blankets and fed the two for me while I was painting. Brooke and Jarrid stopped to see the kitties as they are hoping to take one.

Around 5 I stopped to have a beer and update the blog when I saw the horses out. Britt and I spent the next hour catching them and repenning them then sorting them into their appropriate paddocks so the winter pasture could grow after this recent rain. We also found a mouse while checking mineral tub so were entertained by the getting the cats to come fetch it up, even Diego gave his hand at helping herd it to them.

Just before 7 we headed to town to meet my good friend Tracey and her family who were here playing ball. We made a quick stop to grab supper at Edo then went to the baseball diamonds. We managed to catch the last of the game then went to their hotel room to visit. It is always nice to catch up with old friends. Hannah was dropped off and her and Britt went to try and see grad dresses with no luck and to walmart before returning to pick us up and take us home at 11.

Shaina and Shannon were home from work but got dressed and had Britt take them to the station and pick them up later. Britt's license really gets used lots :-) Shannon and Hannah stayed over.

758 - rain arrives

Day 758 the rain was socked in. At 11 I was out feeding the horses and saw the two older ones were shivering so added warm blankets, it was wet!! I checked the rain gauge and we had 1 1/2" of well needed rain. Rachel left at 11:30 and Shaina did not come up until well after lunch.

Sheldon ate lunch and ran to town at 11:30. He was meeting Britt to do a police report as the story gets fishier with the guy. Seems he just got insurance and registration yesterday.. most likely right after the incident! I spent my day sanding and washing tables and put a coat of primer on the rectangular table underside where the children had did all the art work. Sheldon was back around 3 after grabbing some groceries and couple errands too.
Sheldon checked rain gauge at 4 and we were up to 2' of rain. Shaina went to work out as Britt came home from school. I finished up in the garage and showered to get ready for our date night to Stage West to see Chicago. We picked Sharon and Darren up around 5:30 and were off for a fun filled night with great food and company.
We drove home in the continued rain and dropped them off and were back home by 11. The girls had all gone into Amanda's to visit but Britt was back home and Shaina arrived home from her Calgary detour around 1.

757 - opps another vehicle incident, does it come in 3's?

day 757 I was awoke with a start, actually a knock at the door at 6:55 am. Here it is Matt needing the skid steer. Through blurred vision we chatted quick with the sun shining behind him I said where is the rain, look west he said. Sure enough it was dark so out I bustled to put the downspouts on and feed all the horses.

Matt was back at 8:30, just after Britt headed to school in the truck for 2nd day in a row this week, with a chai tea and honey crueller.. what a nice guy, THANKS Matt!

round table washed up and below the west blown mist coming under the door, by full rain I was propping all furniture up everywhere off the wet floor
Just after 9 the first sprinkles started but did not last long but misty off and on all day. I spent the morning washing tables to refinish. Shaina came home from sleepover at noon. I stopped for lunch too. Britt called saying she had a fender bender :-( apparently backing into a fellow at a stop sign. OH MY!
the kitties are getting playful now
and try to walk and bat each other
I spent the afternoon stripping and sanding the 2 light tables, one round one rectangular. The rain finally arrived just after 2, let up a bit then again around 3 as Shaina headed to the city to go to health show with Kaylin and Gail.
half stripped and sanded, half not
 all done
 fine detail stripping
that nail polish is still perfect

all done and washed again, holes filled too
outside the rain soaked ponies frolic.. check out the 30 yr old Casanova and his 20 yr old bucking girlfriend in the far pasture

Britt was home after school forlorn heading to her bedroom after explain the details to me then again to Sheldon once he got home from work. He stopped to check out the damage himself and there seems to be a big difference of opinion on the value of "his baby"!
I am thinking some may have been there before the impact :-)

We had a late supper of scrumptious salmon rice and salad before all enjoyed relaxing after a action packed day for all. Britt did go out in the cool wet evening and feed the two older ones and pitched hay too, thanks Britt.

Sheldon watched hockey while Britt and I watched PVR shows. Rachel and Shaina arrived home around 9 and had a sleepover.
