Magnolia transfers galore

Yet another smoky cooler day. I got busy with my market packing, pricing and touch ups. S tested a new oatmeal today. When Dave got up he tried it too. They found the right microwave times. I started working on more projects. The rolling pin had a magnolia transfer added. S went out to clean out his pull quad sprayer for winter. B tended to Timba in the smoke.

B and D left before lunch to drop off his old truck at a coworkers. After a bowl of soup I headed back to the garage. The cake stand had magnolia transfers added. Then all were clear coated a couple times then  had additional dark wax to make the details pop.

B and D were back at 2, ate then D headed to Lacombe and B to her room. I did have her help me load the market shelves back in the cargo trailer after I swept it out. The sun peeked out a bit while doing so and she fed Bird. Then back to her room. She plans to take September off and relax.

S went out late afternoon to set up the fuel tank. We cooked up a tasty steak supper. B chatted with Sharon who had taken Timba for another check up then joined us for supper. She rode Roo after supper. S and I finished up our chores and hit the hot tub. The days are sure getting shorter faster. And this cooler dreary weather makes it feel like fall ;( S and I watched 2 full Kaleidoscope episodes!!

Project progress

Holiday Monday had Harley wanting out after 7. I was letting Gulliver out when B let out Coop. Soon after rain started!!! Good timing pets. It is smoky but the rains are so welcome. Time for coffee. The rain turned to a drizzle but still helps?? B tended to Timba then back to her room. S worked on adding water to hot tub and cleaned filters. I added a coat of warm white paint to the rolling pin and one cake plate.

I was off to town before 11. Of course it was raining much harder in town. The smoke smell was strong. Like the rain was pushing it down to earth. It is only 10 degrees out. An Amazon parcel was dropped off, as were library books. A stop at Walmart for cat food and a few groceries had me in the longest lines ever. Holiday Monday of course. Then it was lunch with Dad. He was not hungry at all today. It seems he had a good breakfast. I was back at the house before 1:30. Dave was here visiting with S who had burnt toast for lunch, icky. He and B were off to unload their trailer contents into the storage unit.

I got back to work on projects. The rolling pin and cake stand were given another coat of white after I painted the pink underside of the stands a coat of primer. The pink reflects. S came out and washed the car. He was then back to couch to watch ball and football. I tried to sort another project. The shelf from my cargo trailer was cleaned off and wiped. Inside I made a pot of soup for supper. I staged a vintage metal sifter then posted on Etsy.

Britt and Dave were back around 4. They backed in trailer and took off again. Once back B fed her horse while Dave visited with Sheldon watching the football game. They were off to city for sushi and a movie. S and I ate soup. I worked on marketing. He retrieved his bale moving skid steer and tractor with Matt's help. Time to stage prepping for this weekend's market. Items were tagged and packaged up. The inventory list made. And of course always a touch up or two on pieces.

B and D were back skipping the movie. They watched one in her room instead. S continued with his sports on TV. Once I wrapped up market stuff we actually watched a whole Kaleidoscope episode. Only 4 more to go :) S to sleep and me watching a new series on Netflix.

She's 3 months old!

Look who is 3 months old today!!

Smoke filled Sunday; dreary and depressing out. I worked on project. The table was clear sealed as was the sign. Both got 2 coats. Sharon stopped to treat Timba. The horses were sent out in the hay field.

I continued work on projects in the garage while S polished the fireball. The cake stands were slick coated. A wooden rolling pin that was scrubbed this am was sanded and sealed with primer 2 coats. A bowl of potato salad and beer was our late lunch break in the garage.

I used a new transfer on a gin bottle. It is so pretty. Then the search was on for what transfer to do on the rolling pin. We moved the truck onto the lift and up. S headed back in to watch the end of the ball game. Garage laundry and tidy for me. I also scrubbed up a pepper grinder. The last Hello Fresh meal: pork tenderloin was cooked up.

the completed projects were brought in to stage

We started Wonder Woman 1984 on TV but it is so hard to watch with commercials. We decided to PVR it and hit the hot tub. B did Timba care then to her lair. S and I tried watching Kaleidoscope but once again he fell asleep in short order. I almost finished the Pressure Cooker season leaving 15 minutes & the big winner ending.

Daily riding

September 1!! What the heck. Mom got coffee going early. I joined her before 8 to visit. Sheldon joined before she was off to Dad's around 9:30. B had grand plans to sleep in today. Sharon was out to treat Timba. Kyle was close behind. He and Whitney gifted me their vintage dining table and 8 chairs. This required some tidying and shuffling in the storage trailer. They helped me load it in, thanks!

I did some marketing quick. The damask papered dresser tutorial went live. Then sent and posted to all the proper sites. I also have an Etsy sale; a copper pot!

B cooked up bacon and eggs for a brunch for her and S. I ran to town for 11:30 belated birthday lunch for Sharon and Coreena. We enjoyed the 23 degree sunshine on the golf course deck catching up. Back home at 2, I dug potatoes and cooked for potato salad. B made a macaroni salad. She and I sorted her pantry/food items. A shelf from cargo trailer was set in laundry room for excess. S ran skid steer and tractor over to Matt's to set up a bale moving operation.

Look who's enjoying her evening stroll

Our salads were tasty with BBQ burgers S cooked up. Sharon stopped for a 3rd time today to treat Timba. She passed the care over to B for the weekend then was off to Canmore. B and I rode the hay field. S ran over to start the bale moving equipment set up. It turned out to be a beautiful night even with the breeze.

Mom was out after 9. She chatted about the day while having some late supper. Then we were off to bed. Pressure Cooker for me and a video for S.

Mom turned on coffee after 7. B let Cooper and Gully out not long after then back to bed. Seems we forgot to open winter/paddock gates keeping horses in all night. B ran out and opened before bed. S and I joined in on coffee. He and Mom were off at 9. Mom had a short stay heading home today after lunch for a friends party. S was off to move bales. I went and finished the hand scraping, sanding and putting on a coat of walnut stain on table top. Wildfire smoke rolled in.

Totally forgot the copper pot. I got it boxed up and shipping label printed. B tended to Timba. She and I then went for a ride. It was 11 and already 24 degrees. A coyote was at far gate not far from us and the dogs all nonchalant. Our near 3 mile ride looped thru winery. We met S on his way home for lunch break as we passed thru main gate. After the ride I filled salt/mineral tubs in house shelter and opened the winter/paddock gate.

The coyote is on left end of the gate, see below?

Look how the trees are changing and losing leaves, very fall like

We joined S inside for lunch. He headed back to bales. Britt was off to the city to get Cooper's raw food at 1. I wrote a Hometalk post for the metal garden angel stakes. Then off to garage to work on projects. The sign plan was changed after not liking the Xmas transfers. I thought about repainting then decided to try another floral transfer. This looked good so I put them on. Brown wax added to give an aged look.

Britt was back at 3. She kindly picked up the shaker peg I needed too. THANKS B! I painted it up. Perfect, now this will allow the project to be complete. I cleaned out the fridge freezer quick. She put in her food. We have full fridges and freezers in this house.

She was off to her room to chill. I came in for a refreshment. This new flavor gin was tasty. S was back from his bale adventure after 4. Cold beer for him. We ran to town quick to toss the trash 5 min before closing. I dropped off the Etsy parcel. We then grabbed some groceries for supper. Back home I cooked up a delicious chicken stirfry.

Time to get the garden and planters watered. B trimmed Bird while she ate. S and I hit the hot tub for a soak. What a beautiful sunset sky. B doctored Timba. She drained his building puss pocket calling me to see. Grossly intriguing. I watched Netflix while S perused the internet, B was off to shower and watch her TV.
