Tutorial writing day

S let H out at 6:30 for a bathroom break then back to bed till 8 when he started perusing emails on his phone. UGH I awoke with a headache. I went and divided Cooper's meat log and fed them breakfast as S made coffee. Marketing was underway for me and laptop perusing for S.

S went to let cats out in the sunshine so I put dogs' coats on and sent them out. He played ball with them for a bit seeing it is -3 out. He was then in and on his laptop as I continued working on tutorials. He did trouble shoot an outlet that is not working by his big brown. While videos downloaded on the tutorials I used the new Dyson cordless vacuum getting lots of grub sucked up.

We had "canned" soup made by Ma K for lunch, THANK YOU!! S washed up dishes as I continued tutorials and vacuuming and started laundry. The temperature rose to melting out and seeing it was so sunny and no wind we headed out for a soak in the hot tub. What a beauty day but forecast says cold snap coming.

this is the amount of snow we got

After getting out the tub and dressed I went to feed the horses and take their blankets off. I also gave the other 3 some sunflower seeds to nibble on in the snow.

Sheldon got busy with filter flush Friday on a great day to do so. I got back to tutorials, and it seemed our luck was perfect as the clouds hid the sun after S came in from filter flush. S had no luck troubleshooting the outlet so moved on to CWD deer tag replacement again with not much luck. I had soaked wet newspaper in the oven and after a soak used a scraper to loosen the burnt-on gunk. I got allot of it off but guessing it will stink still when using oven in the future.

I went out to feed the dogs then black waxed the outside and clear waxed the inside of the black cabinet. Inside I wrote a quick Hometalk post for the transferred apron. Then I buffed the cabinet as S trimmed his hair. He had me do the neck area in the back then swept up. I tidied up then we were in for supper of leftover lasagna.

After supper I finished the latest tutorial for the warm white and natural stain table and posted it. Next I wrote a Hometalk post for the latin floral maple dresser as S went and put cats away.  S perused his laptop as no sports on tonight. Ads were created for the latest projects in hopes of getting eyes on stuff for sale. Seeing no sports we finished the Animal Kingdom series with an ending we did not expect. We then watched a movie called The Good Nurse; it was ok but pretty slow but crazy it was based on a true story.

We got snow

It was a sleepless night with many disruptions; S bombled around the kitchen at 2:30 so I listened to sleep podcasts finally falling asleep only to have H want out at 4:28 am. Then she was on to personal hygiene which is loud when the house is so quiet :) I awoke at 6:50 to let her out of the kennel knowing Cooper was to be dropped off soon but B did not drop him till 7:30. She and Dave are off to Seattle/Portland later today for a concert trip. I was awake after 8 so got up, cut up her jumbo food chub to feed her and get the coffee going. The sunrise was worthwhile getting up for.

S had a restless sleep too so slept till after 9 and was in big brown with his coffee when I got a reminder call "we" had our healing journey class at 9:30 we had not logged in for. He joined in as I headed out to work on projects. The case had more transfers added to the back edge (inside while listening to the class) then clear coated and new cork pads added to the bottom.

The purple chair was clear coated and left to dry as I came in to catch up on marketing and computer work. After the class ended at 11:30 S ventured out in the -9 full sunshine day to get the skid steer started to push snow around and snap a few photos of the snow accumulated. I made us egg avocado salad sandwiches for lunch with the news.

I took photos of the case then added another clear coat to the chair and left to dry. The sun called and I had to feed horses so I mixed up their tubs, pulled out my insulated coveralls, put jackets on the dogs and we headed out. The dogs had a blast playing once they got out. S came out and started his snow pushing. Once the horses were done the dogs and I walked to the far paddock gate and opened it up so they have access to all paddocks/shelters. Tubs and balls were scooped up and brought inside as did the dogs.

Time to write up an Etsy ad for the lotus case. I was out washing brushes and screwing the chair seat in place when S came in from his snow pushing and sidewalk shoveling at 3:30. He headed in to nap in big brown. I brought the chair in to snap a few pictures.

Then I did computer work, I have lots of projects to convert into tutorials and posts so worked on that and catching up the blog. At 5 I started the lasagna and I knew after making it I added a bit too much in the pan but went ahead and started cooking. This proved to turn into the same smell as cleaning my oven last week as the lasagna bubbled over in my clean oven.

Shaina arrived around 5:30 to visit then she and I hit the hot tub with S joining us once the lasagna was taken out to sit for awhile. The tub lift pistons were frozen so we got cozy in half the tub. I threw out a $100 challenge to roll in the snow which Shaina jumped on right away with Sheldon following a bit later not to be outdone :)

Back inside we showered and got the garlic toast done and enjoyed our supper (with the stinky smell in the air). S went and put the cats away with soft food after eating. Shaina was off to stay at Britt's tonight to keep Gulliver company before 8 with S on the phone with a friend. I got busy with the blog and tutorial work. Later in bed I watched some From scratch episode then after ball game over we watched an Animal Kingdom then S sports highlights.

Full fledged snowstorm

The winds howled all night and when H wanted out for a pee at 5:30, it was the fastest pee break I have seen her take. It was a complete whiteout snow storm day. Coffee and computer work for us both then I went to lightly sand the cabinet and paint the red case/ box. S bundled up and went out to roll a bale for the horses. First, he shoveled the step so I put H's coat on and sent her out to spend a bit of time outside but it was not long of course at -5. S was back in and made a hot drink to warm up in big brown then had a nap.

In the garage, I worked on the case painting a couple colors allowing to dry in between. I worked on accounting and blog work during this drying time. With a hot chai tea I wrote a Hometalk post for the stenciled chair. A bowl of goulash then I was back out to the garage clear coating the case. S decided his TV room was dusty so asked how to dust and gave it a go, YEAH!

The cabinet had more black stain touchups done on the front edge then I installed decoupage paper in the drawer. This required cutting to size, ironing and gluing in place and sealing but it looks lovely.

Time to add transfers to the case. Once the case had all the transfers on I clear coated it again and came in to eat leftovers for supper.

We were just finishing when Britt, Dave and Cooper arrived around 6. B was sent home from work early with the roads crappy. This allowed her to feed horses while still light out and check their casts and blankets. All was well. Dave brought us all hot teas which we had while visiting with B joining us after her tasks.

this is what the finished casts look like, cool heh?

They headed home at 7 and I headed back to the garage. The case was clear coated again then I moved on to the purple chair that has been on hold since I repainted the seat. I am not a fan of the whitewash wax look so repainted the chair. On the repainted seat I went with a new songbird stencil seeing the transfer issues would probably happen again. I like it much better now.

S had sports watching and laptop action but did go out and unstuck the quad B got stuck. I finished up washing brushes and came in at 9 to catch up the blog. S braved the storm and went out for a hot tub claiming it was calm in that area thanks to the shelter walls. I crawled into bed at 9:30 to finish the season of Dubai Bling and peruse a few others. S was back in showered and in bed on his phone reading "news". The snow let up about 4 today but the wind continued to howl until 11:30 when it finally eased up and after midnight things were clear and still.

First snow of the winter

Cooper and his roomie Gulliver are enjoying such a comfy bed last night

Today they are calling for snow and the dreary day is looking like it will. Coffee was a warm start to the day. Sheldon cooked bacon and eggs for a late breakfast. I ran out and touched up the stain on the cabinet on areas needing a bit darker. Ma and Pa packed up and were off before 11:30 and I close behind them.

I delivered baby Thea’s growth ruler to Sharon’s for her to take in later today. She and I had chai teas and delicious pumpkin streusel muffins while catching up. The snow started to fly as forecast around 12:30 and continued for the day. I was off to my massage at 1:30 then back home by 3.

S was buffing up a metal bird he welded up for Papa when I got home. I did some marketing and tutorial writing as he perused the internet. The world series ball game started as we were eating the mushroom hamburger zucchini goulash S made. His meal selection is growing in his "retirement" career. I got back to blog catchup and tutorials and he on his laptop watching the ball game.

S went outside hoping to take H for a walk but it seems her winter coat might be too small and they were back in in short order!

The winds picked up and snow blew around making for a wintery night. B was out later with Cooper to feed horses but had to take quad out to give hay and put on blankets as the horses wanted to stay along the trees. She was off at 8:30. I was off to bed to watch Dubai Bling, S watched his sports then off to sleep.
