Paint projects on the go

The chinook winds continued to blow and be plus 4. As I worked on marketing and posts an even huger wind storm blew thru at 11 moving stuff on the deck. The temperature dropped to plus 1 and hovered.

snapped these updated pics

The antique table was painted a second coat of cream milk paint.

I painted the magazine rack another coat of turquoise then took it out to sand distress when dry. I was finishing that up when Brittany and Cooper popped out after 1:30.

We caught Roo and Switch and trimmed them up. B got to wear and use her new trimming gear from Dave. She is decked out to the 9's with chaps, knives, rasp with holder and nippers. When we let them go the rest were back at the bale so no next in line.

I headed inside to make lasagna and she was off to town but had to take the quad out before doing so in search of Mr Cooper who was out on his own coming from the south pasture when he finally returned. Lola had been here so not sure what he was off doing alone. I finished up the lasagna and got them in the oven.

B text around 4 there was a storm in town. It looked nice here (a bit of snow had briefly fallen but was short lived) but in a matter of minutes it rolled in. It did not last really long, about 20 minutes and was off but now it was starting to get dark, drats!

 my view when she text

my view minutes later

After eating some lasagna I headed out to touch up sanding on the magazine rack, dusted it off and sprayed it with clear coat. The table had a 3rd coat of milk paint. The silverware chest was posted and had an interested party but she wants her tartan put inside. I suggested she find the chest and I can help her out.

The snow storm dropped the temperature to -3 and according to David Spence it will keep going down to -21 next Friday.. yikes! I started a new Netflix series called Virgin River, anyone else watch it?

Taking a break after a few episodes headed out to sand the antique table quick. Then back in my cozy bed with a movie on Crave called The Mustang. I only got 2/3 thru and had to shut out the lights and record my sleep time on my Fitbit ;)

Silverware chest complete

Bright sunny yet chilly day today, perfect for my morning caps and marketing. Then it was time to get the silverware chest lined. Of course in typical style I had it completed only to find the raised cardboard edge to tight a fit so it had to be removed, cut down and redone but I had it complete in time to head to town for my noon acupuncture appointment.

After my acupuncture I grabbed a chai tea and chicken souvlaki and jetted for home. My paint parcel was at the gate which was perfect timing. As I was eating my lunch the Fedex driver pulled up to my front door to deliver Lola's food. I love Fedex courier the best ;)

Then it was a quick jaunt out to give the two their pills as they were in sunning themselves at the shelter. I mixed up some new milk paint then opened my paint parcel, WOW it was a doozy!

The table was milk painted up and left to dry.

I hauled the magazine rack inside to paint while watching Ellen but it was repeat so I watched YOU while doing so as well as cooking bacon for my sandwich supper. After the magazine rack was painted I left it to dry and headed to my cozy bed to finish the season of YOU. I also caught up on this week's Shameless episode. It was -8 for most of the day but late afternoon it started to warm and by after supper the chinook winds started to pick up hitting PLUS 6 overnight!

Winter returns briefly

Today was a total changed up waking before 8 to a snow squall. The wind was blowing with all the horses vying for spots near the shelter and windbreaks. Time for a few cappuccinos while I got marketing underway. The storm filled the satellite dish requiring me to go out not once but twice to try and get all the snow off. It is only -3 so lucky that way.

By 9:30 the storm had passed and the clouds started to break up. After 11 it was a beautiful sunny now -4 day. The horses were back in so time to run out and give pills quick. Today is Asher and Mya's birthdays, Happy cake day! XOXO

Did you know it is national personal fitness trainer day? Do you follow Shaina K Fit on Facebook? Or Shaina K Fit on Instagram?

In the garage, I hauled out a magazine rack and one of the antique tables to paint. Both got a thorough scrubbing and wiped dry.

see the dirty water running off, this is why I scrub each piece

I smudged the garage and projects clearing everything out for the new year then changed to run to town. Before the birthday supper I grabbed some groceries and beer then ran a few errands including picking up a parcel which was Shaina's gift to me.

quick hair fix

Amanda snapped this pic that cracks me up

someone likes the icing best

Asher's birthday supper of hamburgers and alligator cupcakes was enjoyed as well as catching up with the family. Thanks for having me in guys. I headed back to the ranch at 8 where I watched some more You episodes after unboxing the bird bath from Shaina.

this looks like metal but is actually only about 1 pound, not sure if it can withstand the brutal winds here without a cement base.

January 1, 2020

Hello 2020!! What a sweet year to write and say. I was awake at 8:30 perusing Instagram a bit before letting Cooper out to enjoy the morning perimeter check waking Lola. I am still behind on the blog but catching up a bit this am. I made cappuccinos for S and I when he finally woke at 10 am. He took his and crawled back into bed till 11 getting a nice relaxing start to the year.

Cooper came in after his morning jaunt then back in for a warm up but soon wanted back out. This time I put on his coat but he came back after lunch sans his carhartt jacket. Before lunch S went out to roll a bale for the horses as I gave them their pills then clear waxed the silverware chest.

Our first meal of 2020 was a variety of appetizers we had bought for Christmas Eve; jalapeño poppers, stuffed mushrooms, steamed dumplings and mini wontons with a side of fancy coffee I created after cleaning the coffee maker and changing the water filter. It seems it was a year ago when I did it last, oops !

Prince was back in big brown after lunch for his preflight nap. He did help me move a few pieces to try and stage the black bed frame. Then after another short rest he was off for the airport before 3. He also brought in Cooper's jacket prior to going after I spied it in the field with binoculars.

first sunset of 2020

I was back to work writing a tutorial for the black bedframe then got it updated on the sale sites. Fingers crossed these photos work to sell it. Britt arrived to pick up Cooper before 6 not staying long and they were on their way home.

I put a call out for Fitbit friends but only one replied ;) well two but the other switched to apple watch
