Plant day and 25th birthday

Happy 25th to our beautiful Shaina Lee!!! XOXO

After our coffee in bed, our morning chores were heading outside. S moved his water then started picking dandelions in the island while I hand watered the garden, pots and front flower bed. He then ran for another load of water at 10:30, I got busy gluing the spindles on the chair and getting it back together and a few photos.

I waxed the large pot I painted yesterday and love it!!

The palm was planted in a large plastic pot that will sit in the above ceramic pot.

Once back an hour later, S took one tote with the skid steer along the outside fence line to water the new caraganas while I ran and gave Bird her 3rd new supplement. This has to be given separately from the other two.

Lunch was a left over kinda thing then S was in big brown for a nap before his journey north. I started hustling back and forth to the garden shed to find pot for my new plants. I found the right ones and decided on colors. All were scrubbed and left to dry well.

pots needing an update

Prince was off after his nap around 2:30. I hauled cardboard, pots and spray paint to the shop as the breeze could affect my paint job. I have put on 6,000 steps so far hiking back and forth but the pots turned out great. Now to let them dry a bit before potting.

Onto setting up the bed frame and arranging the nightstands after removing hardware. Once in place, power sanding was underway on all rough areas then wiped down. More on this tomorrow, time to plant my "new" pots. The fiddle leaf went in the large teal plastic pot and the Norfolk pine in the turquoise ceramic pot. The dracaena got moved into the pretty pot the girls bought me with the fiddle leaf and it moved to our bedroom. I hauled up the to be repotted, trimmed yellowing leaves off, found a pot, scrubbed it up and will finish it tomorrow.

Now to set up the bedroom suite to prep for painting. I was hoping S had time to help me before he left but I managed.

The one top had deep gouges that needed to be sanded out so I got started on that. I will continue tomorrow.

T ate my other half of Vietnamese noodles B brought me on Saturday while I caught the first part of the 5pm news. The wind had picked up with dark clouds and dust blowing everywhere. Guess I best get out and do the supplements. I took 2 buckets to the far paddock for the gingers. They came running ate quick and I was off to mix the next set. These 2 however got all worked up with the wind howling and were flying around the paddock NOT coming to me shaking the pails sheltered on the south side of the shop. As they flew around I saw Bird in the corner doing her stop rear etc. I gave up calling them and went to make Roo's applesauce/probiotic combo and a treat for Daisy.

I went out with all 4 buckets when I saw Pepper prancing around the black girls pen. WTH, off I went to catch him and find the corner rail was down (bonked by Bird in her dance) and the hot wire pulled out as Mr graceful lept over the bottom rail. I put the rail back in, moved the wire back but not in place til tomorrow, caught him and put him back in his pen where KD had been frantically pacing yet not attempting to jump said lower rail.

Now I headed back , got the buckets, fed D&R then had to hold the buckets for B&S till they were done. Pails all put back and halter away, doors closed and back to the house where I had close to 6,000 more steps in LOL

golden hour makes the bleeding hearts pop

Cold Molson 67 time it was and a salad even though it was almost 8. A decaf cappuccino and soak in the tub were next before getting out to write today long blog post. But as I finished the blog post after 10, I noticed the house was heating up. Sure enough the A/C issues were happening. Trouble shooting with the boss man I got it running again. I watched YouTube till midnight and found it once again was heating so shut it completely off and will deal with it another day.

Celebrating Shaina turning 25!!

Cooper was awake and ready to patrol before 5 am!! Britt let him out and to pee then back to bed but not long later she was back up and let both out to start their patrols. I did eventually drift back to sleep but awake before 9. I started marketing/blogs while S slumbered. Eventually he did get up and make us coffee then back to relax mode.

We went thru the 82 photos S took of the bison yesterday, I edited some and here they are.

B was up around 11 and sampled my yummy ribs for brunch. I made S and I smoothies for lunches when he was finally ready to get the day under way. Battery in the dump trailer was his project and watering trees. B took Roo for a walk after her probiotic/apple sauce combo then took the quad to find the jolly ball Cooper took for a venture.

I was working on scrubbing GG Kuhn's table S brought home that we unloaded along with the free dining table he picked up last night on way home. I found some old treasures in the drawers.

I cut some tulips and bleeding hearts, look at the stem of hearts curled from the wind

Reorganizing the garage to make space for the bed frame was next then loading up Shaina's stereo system for their new garage gym along with her birthday gifts and some weights. B took Roo for a stretch and gave the other 4 horses their supplements before she came in to paint the sofa table she scrubbed earlier.

I was working on a glazed pot I wanted a new color for my new palm. S had come in around 2:30 for an hour and half nap after a hard w/e perhaps.

I also dark waxed the chair and put another coat of tung oil on it. Once B got the first coat on, she scrubbed up the brush, loaded up Cooper and jetted for home just after 4. We are all meeting at Red Lobster to celebrate Shaina's birthday tonight. After his nap S moved the water, picked some dandelions and jumped in the shower. This is his Tuesday I think :)

We headed to the city at 5:30 stopping at the Walmart right beside Red Lobster to grab a few things. WOW was it packed, apparently Sunday is shopping day in the city. B was waiting at the restaurant and the two others right behind us. We enjoyed a seafood fest birthday celebration for the next couples hours. The drink alone set me over my days remaining calories HAHA. S meal was almost 2000 calories alone. This was a feast for sure.

look at the size of that coloda!!

the waitress brought Shaina a bonus bowl of lobster bisque

this is not even showing Sheldon's plate

B set off for home; we swapped the stereo and plants/gifts from one vehicle to another then the girls were off. We had thought of going to Rocket Man but all the theaters have it playing at 10:15 or later. Not much to do in the city for a couple hours on a Sunday night so we headed for home. Passing thru Strathmore we swung by Paetz's to grab some things Debby sent with Craig, visited with him outside for half hour then headed back to the ranch to kick back and relax the stuffed bellies.

A/C goes on ~ June 1st

I woke just before 6 am, why I have no idea but after an hour of thoughts I managed to go back to sleep till 8 then got up and let Lola out. The smoke has cleared allot! Enjoying a cappuccino I answered emails and did a bit of marketing, threw in laundry before heading out to work on the chair. It had another coat of paint and oil and a glue repair on the base.

While it dried I went out and gave the black girls their morning probiotic mash and mixed up KD's and a feed bucket for Pepper and back to the house to get the supplements. Before taking them out I made my lunch smoothie; very green today.

It is a scorcher out there today; after feeding the "gingers" I set up the water system on the lilacs S had left in place. The chair was distressed but will sit overnight before waxing. This heat had me turning the A/C on for the first time this year. Time to hand water the flower beds, pots and garden.

I had a customer drop off her bedroom suite to have refinished at 3:30. We unloaded, picked a color and talked finish before she was on her way after 4.

nightstands X 2

Britt and Cooper were here about 4:30 bringing Vietnamese for supper, THANKS B!! She and I ate then headed out to work in the horse paddocks. Even at 29, the sun was clouded over for most of it so made it ok. She picked poop and rocks while I mowed the weeds/long grass. I stopped and helped her on trailer load # 2 then I was off to the other 2 paddocks leaving her here. She did however head to the A/C house for most of her last shift.

It was not 6:30 so we changed and caught horses to ride for an hour, once back I trimmed Bird with her rasping the edges which really helps. I headed back to the house for a shower while she swept up. I folded laundry while she bathed poopy Cooper, read her new book and finished her vermicelli ;)

I was offered a free table today but it needed to be picked up today; seeing S had the truck and was coming home from the Valley tonight he swung thru town and picked it up for me, thanks! He arrived at the ranch just before midnight.
